GX460 is highest rated vehicle for reliability of any vehicle.  It is AWD with ability to lock center diff and also has a low range.

Load up on NSAIDs before you start and keep them going all day.

You didn’t mention why you wanted to snowboard vs ski, but why not try both?

it’s going to take 3+ days of either before you can get down a green run comfortably, try not to fool yourself with dreams of shredding the gnar your first weekend out.

Skiing is gonna be less brutal on the bod, especially if you get good lessons and learn how to fall. If it’s really icy and hard snow, really consider skiing.  Everyone, even young learners, gets destroyed learning to board, catching an edge is inevitable.  Your ass will be purple for weeks.

☝️This. It’s also a trail balloon for the shitstorm JH and Michigan will be navigating as JH continues to press for player compensation.

(Michigan as a money making institution would rather not pay its players)

Does seem like Harbaugh is…

Does seem like Harbaugh is out of his comfort zone when forced because he can’t play bully ball. Hopefully he goes into this one knowing bully ball isn’t going to win the day and plans/executes accordingly.

I do think Michigan got the…

I do think Michigan got the ideal draw.  Michigan does not have a bottomless bench of 5-stars. Play Bama in the first round when we are at full strength and have all the bullets still in the chamber.

I can’t tell if they are bad…

I can’t tell if they are bad or actually savants at generating the greatest TV product.

Receivers on both teams do…

Receivers on both teams do this 'catch -> shuffle/look-up-field' move to plan their run.  I don't recall seeing our receivers being taught to do that.  Is that a thing?  good/bad?

Seems like these receives are losing precious counts to make more forward progress.

Reading your comment another…

Reading your comment another way, these “insiders” are really just a disguised PR arm of the program.  So when Sam says “even insiders don’t know”, that means the program knew it didn't control its destiny/narrative, and may get cooked, which it did.

Michigan and Ohio State both…

Michigan and Ohio State both have very influential “blogorati.” [0]

My totally biased, but I believe accurate, take is that Michigan’s blogorati respects the critical thinking skills of their fanbase. Compare that to OSU’s blogorati who are very quick to give their fanbase talking points to hide uncomfortable truths.

OSU’s is certainly a strategy, but one that gets real ugly when the music stops.  OSU may be much closer to a long winter than anyone over there is able to recognize.

[0] Blogorati: made up and probably misspelled term to describe the Brians and Seths of the sports blog worlds.

Are you from Texas or something?

People don’t use the advice…

People don’t use the advice of their counsel all the time and also fire them.  That doesn’t make it a bad choice.  Often it is a prudent choice when the potential legal bills don’t get you any closer to the desired outcome.  Billable hours always win.

So Michigan didn’t want to continue fighting, which is what we already know.

Local counsel does the…

Local counsel does the beckon of the lead counsel, so local not agreeing with lead means nothing.

The force with which you make your “a fact” statement does not jive with how you end with “I sure have questions.”

Knowing personally how much some of the regents are ardent supporters of the football program and Harbaugh, I have a hard time believing your statement.

Allows Michigan *AND* NCAA…

Allows Michigan *AND* NCAA to save face.

One should never fully play…

One should never play their full hand out the gate when getting into this type of negotiation.  Save some ammo for if/when things escalate.  It would be a mistake for Michigan to come out with this position now.

I’m sure a lawyer at NCAA is doing a deep dive into the currently written rules and will write an internal report on their exposure here (many outside commentators have already analyzed this and found real gray areas).

A settlement where both parties can agree to move on with both saving the most face *should* be able achievable.

I’ll answer my own question…

I’ll answer my own question.  This article just dropped on 11W, gives away their gameplan. They want B10 to give Michigan a ban this season…

Has anyone speculated on…

Has anyone speculated on what is the desired outcome of this PR hit job?  Like what were the orchestrators hoping to see happen?  Harbaugh gone? Post season ban, etc?  I think one could start to speculate based on how the leaks have been presented.

But doing this kinda PR hit job is not without serious risk of backfire if it’s too easy to connect dots/motives, etc.

I suggest you reread…

I suggest you reread Harbaugh’s statement, there’s some wiggle room in it.

This is straight FUD from ESPN.  Expect ESPN to start pushing some unhinged-from-reality “two SEC teams in playoffs” narrative, and they will start pointing back to this batshit computer ranking.  And way too many people will eat this shit up.

Agreed colored lines are…

Agreed colored lines are hard to follow.  Was referring to the other guy.  I agree with your take on all points.  Harbaugh has never shown to be anything but honest and transparent, this is his currency. He won't be corralled/controlled by a contract/institution that believes trust only comes from expensively-drafted and signed contracts.  In my experience lawyers (not all) generally don't trust these types like Harbaugh (it's an affront to their world view and paycheck), hence my comment on guessing that guy was a lawyer.

I’d wager you are a lawyer…

I’d wager you are a lawyer. Amirite?

Gotcha. If it’s just a…

Gotcha. If it’s just a laptop sitting on a standing desk, that setup will still cause her to look down, triggering cervical spine issues.  Since nerves are already enflamed, even the smallest aggravation can trigger symptoms.  I’m happy to send you a free one to see if it helps.

Has she been spending more…

Has she been spending more hours of the day on a laptop?   A lot of people went from an ergonomic desktop setup pre-Covid to working exclusively hunched over their laptop for many more hours a day.

I make and sell www.therooststand.com.  It gets your laptop screen up to eye level, use it with an external keyboard and mouse as well. It is as good as it gets for proper ergonomics on a laptop.

Hunching at a laptop wreaks havoc on all nerves coming out of the cervical spine.  I invented the product because I had to quit working at 27 due to RSI in the cubital and ulnar nerves, both arms.  Turns out the root cause was my hunching over all day at laptop.  Did the full nerve conduction tests, PT, etc, etc.  I don't envy the pain and uncertainty of the situation your wife is in.

Well I’ll bite.  I was going…

Well I’ll bite.  I was going to get an MBA a few years after graduating with a UM engineering degree, but I launched a side project at the time on Kickstarter that ended up being successful enough to become full time and more, and have now been running and growing this business, 7 years and counting.

Cliche but true:

- You are almost certain to fail

- Ideas are worth nothing, execution is everything

- If you are remotely successful, someone will steal your shit, because they can.  (Original ideas/products are rare).

If those all get you more motivated, that’s probably a good sign.

As for who to work with and where to get advice:

- The most successful business people I’ve met, they don’t read “business” books and they don’t ask how to do something.  Instead they go out and figure it out themselves. After failing a few times, they begrudgingly ask peers if better way to do it.  Being a “Wantraprenuer” is a real trap.

- Learning how to “business” is like learning a language, you have to practice (and fail) to begin to get a sense of what you are doing.  Just like you can’t learn Spanish by reading books or watching videos, you have to go out and practice it.

As for how to get started, there are some good podcasts and occasionally good blog posts where entrepreneurs talk shop. But realize most of these are just business people selling some new service, it’s hard to find signal from noise.   I thought “Tropical MBA” podcast was generally very high signal to noise.  A lot of newer entrepreneurs claim reading “4-hour work week” was inspirational (not to mean it actually provided good advice, just that it got them excited about the possibilities).

As for actually creating a viable business, your idea is worthless until the first moment someone pays you something for it.  The general advice here is to build your “minimum viable product” as quickly as possible and actually try to sell it.  Anything besides this is typically a waste of time (including, but not limited to: writing a business plan, talking to bankers, going to business meetups, reading business books, developing a marketing plan, planning for any type of large scale production, getting patents, getting licensing)

Messages on internet…

Messages on internet messages boards all appear next to each other and follow each in-line, so it might appear that they all have something worthy to say and are of equal value.

That is the only thing I can come up with that would explain why you think the replies you are making in this thread deserve anyone reading them and taking them seriously.

You must exist in such a small and close minded off-line and on-line community that you fail to understand how backwards and regressive your views truly are and you fail to read the sign posts when you wander into new unfamiliar territory.

Every reply of yours in this thread is in response to a perceived threat to your world view.  Have you ever taken a second to wonder why you are so compelled to “correct” people when they make a comment that has no material impact on your livelihood whatsoever?  So what if women’s sports have a great and passionate fan base, what threat is that to you?

I’ve been reading this message board for 10+ years, commented maybe 4 times, but yet today you compelled me to log in and reach out.  So I guess your cry for attention got me, and I’ve fed the troll, maybe we are all more the same that we think.

Agreed on all

Agreed on all points.

Found this one out from the Found this one out from the locals when moving to Denver (where hangovers tend to be even more killer). It takes discipline, but everyone that's tried it absolutely, unequivocally swears by it: Every time you grab a new drink or beer, pound a glass of water. Simple as that.
Yup, that's him. First hand Yup, that's him. First hand experience? Think I went to slaughter in that in winter '05, memories of lots of long, cold walks to the grad library.
