Certainly working in our favor for M Hoops! But, like some of the other comments, completely unregulated and allows anyone to jump ship, get back on the ship, sail some more and jump again and again and again... Nice for the players to have the freedom, but this is completely unrealistic for employment in the real world, professional sports, etc, no?
The Friendly Confines of Wrigley Field didn't make the cut?!? From Chicago, I'm extremely biased and haven't been to enough stadiums to really weigh in. Some I enjoyed tho, besides Wrigley:
Old Yankee Stadium (NYC) - so much history, fuggetaboudit!
PNC Park (Pittsburgh) - pretty cool park, especially with the backdrop of the yellow bridges
Comerica Park (Detroit) - nothing special here in my estimation, but the D is making a comeback and easy enough to enjoy a game there
Very interesting read and much appreciated. Really explains a lot about how far society/sports has come and the NCAA's inability and/or unwillingness to keep up with the changing times. GO BLUE!
Awesome memory, story and very well told! Hang onto those moments forever, man. My aging father recalls often he and I being allowed down on the field before UM vs ND in '91 (The Catch, Grbac to Howard on 4th and 1). I wasn't yet 10, so too young to appreciate the magnitude as he took it all in, shoulder to shoulder with Lou Holtz (don't tell Ryan Day). But, I do remember being amazed at how HUGE the players were, the feel of the painted grass and the view of the stadium from the field.
Keep those memories by telling the story often and FOREVER GO BLUE!
