Even though he’s no longer the current coach, nice to see some behind the scenes of Jim and his impact with the program/players. You can see why the culture was so strong the last few years, and why these players would run through a wall for Jim. Best of luck Jim (till you play the Bengals).

Yes, Harbaugh clearly had an NFL urge, and so in the big picture, I think it was good to lock down Moore while we had the chance.  (But I'm still annoyed at the lack of support Warde gave Jim for the suspensions.)

Now Warde has to support Sherrone with a blue-blood NIL program to remain elite for 2025 and beyond.  Everything else seems to be in place.

JH got us a title, 3 B1Gs,  3 wins over Ohio and 15-0. Plus 49-0 win at East Landfill. He deserved the right to go and shop around after all that - glad he's getting 80MM/5 yrs and got to interview candidates to be his boss at LAC.

Can't wait until we have him back for a game during an LAC bye week.

Even if that were true, Harbaugh had always been pretty clear that winning a Super Bowl was still a goal for him. That's something that Michigan can never offer him, no matter how much money they give to him, how much money it pledges to NIL, to an assistant budget. No college job can offer what he's looking for now.

Harbaugh accomplished everything here he could possibly accomplish. He did something I honestly felt like might never happen at Michigan again. Short of the "only thing better than one national title is two national titles" incentive, what else was left for him to do here?

I'm not sure there's really anything Michigan could've offered him that would've convinced him to stay. He could leave knowing the program was in a great position, and that he'd accomplished all he'd set out to accomplish.

FFS, wasn’t planning on being sad tonight.

I love Jim M’Fing Harbaugh. I am eating crow after wanting him gone after the Covid season. The team unity and love that he brought was undeniable in this video. JH is the most endearing leader in quite some time. I wish he wasn’t painted black by the media based on his crazy antics in his early years as a HC. Lord, I’m going to miss this man.

Negged for "crazy antics"...

WTF, man?  What "crazy antics" did he do?  He played a football game the way kids all across America do  - shirts vs skins.  He climbed a tree to get a frisbee because a little girl asked him for help (David Long's baby sister).  He spent the night at someone's house because they asked him to instead of finding a hotel room.  So the fuck what?  He also defended his program via Twitter ONLY AFTER it had been attacked by some other asshat not associated with Michigan football.  He held football camps for high school players.

Tell me, were these 'antics' only for show?  That's what the media says, yet here you are pumping their water.  Nothing he did ever amounted to "crazy antics".  That was just a media term because they couldn't handle someone being authentic.

I'm with you in the eating of crow, though.  I had mine baked, with lemon garlic seasoning.  He was a very different man the last three years vs the previous three years earlier.  And Thank god for that!

Holy fuck man, I thought I had a bad week…

Look dude, I’m going to keep this relatively short as you seem like a lunatic. I stopped reading after, “he spent the night at someone’s house because they asked him to.” Not only is that wildly inaccurate, but had you taken the time to do research, you’d know it happened with a couple more recruits. If you don’t think it’s quirky about his comments about chickens, what transpired at San Fran or the plethora of other examples (look it up as they’re many) of odd things at Michigan he’s done, I don’t know what to tell you. Apparently for you, reading my original comment didn’t convey that “crazy antics” was an endearing way of saying his quirkiness. Nothing he did was normal at UM and people bring up these antics for that very same reason. And you know what, WE LOVE IT. The dude was authentic with his outside thinking approach. Media made fun of it and, I (can’t speak for others) love it cause that’s who he was. He’s the crazy uncle you love because he’s downright awesome and different from others.

-1 back at ya for having to defend a stance for saying how I’m going to miss Harbaugh and his crazy antics.

It’s the weekend. Get a few drinks and relax, man.

What an innocuous thing to neg someone for and go on a rant for lol. No idea how anyone upvoted this.

You just went off on someone for using a lighthearted shorthand description of events the media latched on, and that poster didn't imply any negativity towards it.

Lighten up Francis.

"Seems to me VA was calling me out for saying Harbs was a crazy and pushing the media narrative that we all hate and is untrue."

That's exactly what I was doing!  You're reply to me was (mostly) spot on, and I agree with a lot of what you said.  But I don't like calling it 'crazy antics' because the media (and opposing fanbases) use that term as derision towards his conduct.  I don't think his actions were ever out of line, or inauthentic, and I appreciate his defense of his program (even if Warde fined him for it - and he did).  I also don't think his interest in chickens is out of the ordinary - millions of people enjoy them as pets!  Quirky?  Yes.  Speaks his mind regardless of subject?  Yes, mostly.  Is not a robot like other coaches?  Yes.

Crazy antics?  No.  Certainly not in the way the media (I think Pete Finebaum coined that term for him) report them...  We would all do well to not push a media narrative we know to be false.

Funny thing is the sleepover ended up being for a kicker who never fully lived up to the hype (Nordin had some big moments and other missed kicks) - only to miss a sleepover in Northville two years later where the best PK is all of UM history (Jake Moody) resided.

He will always be a champions player and coach here!

How many coaches can come back like this and have players sneaking up on them and giving them hugs? Sincere question. Zero out of the championship coaches? Maybe Dabo has some players that love him? Not Saban, not Kirby, not anyone I can think of.

A sign of the culture this program has.  How many former coaches - either voluntarily or not - can walk back on campus a few months later without the new coach batting an eye?  Let alone being happy to see him?  It's unprecedented!  And not something the media will trumpet, either...

My takeaway - Jim was there for the hugs. I didn't see him looking at any of the drills -- he knew what his players could do. He was just there to see Grant's new haircut, bs with his dad, and collect hugs.

It reminds me of the year or two after I graduated when the firm sent me back to Ann Arbor on recruiting trips. Yes, I collected resumes, but I was in it to see my old friends who were still there.

Why is that a weird comment? Derwin James by all accounts is a freak athlete and everyone knows it. He's an all-pro in the NFL and the highest paid safety in the entire league. Here's a link to a scouting article literally titled Derwin James is a physical freak.

Jim loves his guys. He's "one of the guys". This is exactly how I'd expect him to respond if someone asked him a question like "whats it like in the pros?"

I guarantee you not a single guy in that DB room that heard him say that even flinched.

Great to see this video.  Authentically his own man.  Great relationships with players who love him.  Coach Harbaugh made quite a mark here and will always be remembered as a Michigan Coach.  Glad to know he made arrangements for the chickens too.

Harbaugh is one of the very best, and he brought greatness back to Michigan. Moore has an incredibly tough act to follow, and reality is that there is almost zero chance he will be able to match his predecessor, just as Day was never going to be to match Meyer. That isn’t a knock on Moore, but rather an appreciation of how special the last three years were.

I could listen to this all day.  Does Harbaugh ever have a bad day?  I am going to miss him and all his quirkiness.  On the other hand, I think we have a fresh new soon to be elite coach with Sherrone.  From the looks of it, I think Sherrone is more in tune with NIL and recruiting and I am excited to see him progress this program for many years.

"This is our time" says Sherrone!
