Did the bill also include…

Did the bill also include requirements that each new wolverine be named after one of the 2023 National Champion Michigan Wolverines??? Because it should!

Interesting to watch these…

Interesting to watch these highlights through a lense of Brady vs McCarthy comparison - Brady was a goal line fade master!:

Unfortunately for all of us…

Unfortunately for all of us... unless it's a mircle season with 15 teams with 10 wins....an EIGHT OR NINE win Notre Dame team will be getting enough media slob-knobbing to get in and probably will.

Especially when it becomes a 16 team playoff soon enough

The "luck of the Irish" has…

The "luck of the Irish" has been mainly schedule related since 2010

3 of their main rivals - USC, Stanford, and us - all unfortunately had a mediocre decade-ish... Which is hyper annoying

I agree with you 1000…

I agree with you 1000%

Unfortunately with the new 12 team and soon to be 16 team playoff, a 9 win Notre Dame will be in no matter what... barring a miracle like twenty 10 win teams.

We all better prepare to take this bad medicine on a yearly basis

While I agree with you 1000%…

He's still awaiting…

He's still awaiting punishment from the NCAA and just very recently it was revealed Warde laid down and refused to fight for Harbaugh anymore with burger-gate...?? And they continue to asked about it and are answering honestly??

Agreed - but also, and most…

Agreed - but also, and most importantly imho, an NFL team, with an owner Harbaugh respects, in a location his family loves, gave him **everything** he could ever want.

No matter how much you enjoy…

No matter how much you enjoy your job, a bad boss or a new boss can ruin it. This is such a great example of that!

Big Donkey kicking like a…

Big Donkey kicking like a MULE! Let's go

Sounds like the typical Brad…

Sounds like the typical Brad Holmes smoke screen to me!!

They changed the rules…

They changed the rules entirely and kickoffs will become more on a 1st down style run play...so this does make some sense.

I'll also add that a few very great and/or hall of fame coaches put heavy emphasis on great special teams players and I'll never fault the Lions for doing the same!

He would've been Michael…

He would've been Michael Vick before Michael Vick! And the first player to ever wear a blouse under his jersey!

Because he's....white????!!…

Because he's....white????!! Smdh

No...his nose

No...his nose

A ton of snaps is NOT…

A ton of snaps is NOT starting. Not even close.

These guys want to be the man, to start, and to be guaranteed to be on the field in the biggest moments.

Keon was clearly not going to get that. Of course, now we wish he'd come back!

That's EXACTLY what's…

That's EXACTLY what's happening LOL: https://www.elevenwarriors.com/forum/ohio-state-recruiting/2024/04/146867/class-of-2025-recruiting-news-part-27

And yes - love guys with a chip on their shoulder. A certain Michigan player, perhaps greatest football player of all-time, famously had a chip on his shoulder....It needs to the Michigan way now and forever.

Here's my guess: because the…

Here's my guess: because the placards are just held up for a long time and are never shuffled quickly, they're rarely the actual play call and likely just formation/tempo. Perhaps some of the early drives or gimic plays are on the placards, but definitely not the majority of play calls.

If you watch most of these tempo, no huddle offenses the past 5+ years, they rush to the line, get set, then immediately look to the sideline for the 'final' play call as an adjustment to the defense. In these scenarios there's always a coach/coaches gesturing the final call, never shuffling of the placards, which to me means the placards rarely if ever hold actual play calls. Perhaps the first few scripted drives and a few immediate run to the line and snaps but far and away are essentially decoys.

JV02 feeling like he's James…

JV02 feeling like he's James Bond infiltrating the enemy when he's more so Mr. Bean. LOL

You sad, pathetic, little man.

Ohio State or MSU fan gets cute with a troll account on mgoblog... Nice try asshole!

Wow...a LOT of comments…

Wow...a LOT of comments about Connor Stalions! Definitely NOT a troll account.

Next time no need to be so obvious lol

The stadium is incredible in…

The stadium is incredible in my opinion and an awesome gameday experience. I've been to a few games and a couple of concerts there...although be warned it is very very expensive - $125 for on-site parking - so look to score free tickets from a friend and park+walk or uber in!

Yeah good call. I'm not…

Yeah good call. I'm not super knowledgeable of who was on both the 2020 and 2024 staffs??

Should be a very easy process of deduction, yeah?

It's not just on staff -…

It's not just on staff - read the first line again:

"Michigan and five individuals who currently or previously worked for its football program..."

Bought 2 Red Wings t's from…

Bought 2 Red Wings t's from fanatics earlier this year. It was my first fanatics 'experience' and holy shit...these t shirts SUCK! Horrible quality and way overpriced given the quality. Very disappointing.

Says the guy who believes…

Says the guy who believes Michigan admissions isn't broken and that Stanford's undergraduate credits shouldn't transfer to Michigan!

Yeah okay, thumbs up, unhinged guy.

I hope that crow is raw, no…

I hope that crow is raw, no bbq sauce, and still has feathers because all of you who share that sentiment deserve it!

Huh?? That dude CLEARLY…

Huh?? That dude CLEARLY wants to be in the NFL. Period.

Anyone who said/says $100 - $150 million guaranteed would've kept him doesn't know Harbaugh.

I'm just imagining 47 year…

I'm just imagining 47 year old Lebron James' college recruitment and what a spectacle he would turn it into...got dam. Haha

I find it very odd this guy…

I find it very odd this guy is taking full credit for Memphis running backs when they had an official running backs coach NOT named Carlos Locklyn.

A guy named Anthony Jones Jr., now USC's RB coach, was the official running backs coach at Memphis....Very odd for him to pretend / take credit for someone else's work.

Also taking full credit for…

Also taking full credit for the Memphis running backs....which is odd because they had an official running backs coach NOT named Carlos Locklyn.

Very odd for him to take credit for someone else's work.

Dude what are you on about…

Dude what are you on about. There is a player who spent THREE years at Stanford and was forced to retake 100/101 level courses!

You dismiss all others claims as if it obvious admissions should handle things in this manner.

Yes we did find some…

Yes we did find some diamonds in the rough!! Yes we did...

Must've been driving! The…

Must've been driving! The southbay shook for long enough for my shorts to tighten...

Reminder that Brian Daboll…

Reminder that Brian Daboll is a registered hot head and asshole.

The friction and Wink leaving is being used against him but honestly only time will tell who was in the wrong. As of today I lean toward Wink knowing Daboll is a prick.

When will we see a Sherrone …

When will we see a Sherrone / Michigan edit of this thing???

Chip Kelly!! Seriously…

Chip Kelly!! Seriously...that's who they now want over there. Interesting times to say the least

This is idiotic. The end…

This is idiotic. The end zone is sacred ground and needs to be treated as such!

Here is my alternate…

Here is my alternate proposal since field goals are obviously critical to the game's structure: both field goal kicker AND punter must be 1 of the starting 22 players and must play over 50% of offensive or defensive snaps (whichever side they start on). First half would be exempt to 50% rule.

This rule would apply to any injuries as well, so late in 4th quarter and previous kicker was injured? new player taking the kick must have played 50% of snaps at minimum up to that point.

This would place a premium on roster spots and all around athletes while also adding significant strategy to the game and reduce amount of field goals. Win-win for everyone!

Eh - don't feel too bad…

Eh - don't feel too bad. Long time (forever long) defensive line coaches always make the worst coordinators and head coaches. See Hoke, Brady; Tomsula, Jim; Marinelli, Rod; It's the easiest position to coach so it doesn't translate well when moving up.

Only after years of crapping the bed at higher positions, do defensive line coaches actually make something of themselves.

Just cause you bought the Cullen hype, don't drag us all down with you

I really like this hire. I…

I really like this hire. I was very skeptical of the Cullen hype given he's been a d-line coach FOREVER and d-line is one of the easier positions to coach #1, and #2 there's so few d-line coaches who actually become successful head coaches, coordinators: see Brady Hoke, Jim Tomsula, Rod Marinelli

Pros (imo):

1. has long history of coordinating a defense which others did. Do not have to worry if can actually coordinate the whole thing.

2. players love this hire (per Sam Webb)

3. the defense, while *maybe* more blitz happy, is almost exactly the same as last year.

4. his blitz happy days should be behind him given the d-line he's inheriting. I sincerely think this will actually change his ways

5. NFL Coordinator which means he should be able to disguise and out-scheme all of these college folk, especially Mr. Day.

6. Hat style

7. Meme potential - Stone Cold level. If we beat Ohio State...watch out is all I'm saying

Many coordinators are forced…

Many coordinators are forced to adapt to their strengths and weaknesses. If Michigan didn't have an insane front 4, I promise you would've seen a hole lot more blitzing in the NC game. Just how it is.

If Martindale had the '07 Giants D Line, you would've saw a helluva lot less blitzing. I can promise you that.

Finance bros make many times…

Finance bros make many times more than teachers....so why should rowers get paid the same as football players???

In all seriousness, there are obviously levels to this financially but the 'employee' route is why you'll ultimately see the death of olympic sports at most universities unless a major change happens. They're simply not popular enough to forking over the level of money for these universities. How many kids seriously attend Michigan because of rowing, gymnastics, etc.

That's why I think many people are pushing for football and basketball to break off entirely from the universities and just associate in name only, not school...that itself is another giant can of worms.

Is there anything you're NOT…

Is there anything you're NOT skeptical or doom+gloom over??

Lol...that literally gets…

Lol...that literally gets them nowhere very fast. Their cap issues will take YEARS to sort out. Chargers have to draft perfectly with perfect selections for their specific roster needs to have any chance...not impossible and can be done.

I looked back, recently, at…

I looked back, recently, at Mgoblog Brian's opinion of our Athletic Directors since he started this site and my takeaway is: how the fuck do we find such incompetent assholes to run our athletic department??? (Hackett as interim so not counting him)

It's just incredible.

Or players.

Michigan is…

Or players.

Michigan is forever behind because of dinosaur reasoning. An operation that collectively thinks football is for brutish orges and that the likes of rowing and fencing are true sports...and civilized!

Need an administration that understands athletic success can drive academic success....and academic donations (the only thing they care about)

I feel he deserved more time…

I feel he deserved more time, even earlier this season, and my basis was:

#1. first time HC and was guaranteed to have growing pains. The growing pains are far worse than expected.

#2. Recruiting snakebites - he has legitimately been snake bitten by some dumb issues in recruiting. 2 or 3 of those players actually get to suit up and this team may be very different...however, TEAM building is a skill required of a head coach and he clearly has no option B or C which probably goes back to #1.

#3. He's shown he can recruit fairly talented players...or at least attract heavy interest.

Anyway, a team quitting on its coach is always the iceberg to the titanic, so all of this is moot. This is the type of thing that requires housecleaning of almost every player OR clearing out the main cancers and bringing in many very very very strong leaders to out weigh the cancer in the locker room.

BUT!! He had heart surgery and he has 1 more year and Warde is in charge so he'll be back next year so all of this arguing is pointless! He'll be the first decision for the new AD next year....
