Wouldn’t be surprised if he…

Wouldn’t be surprised if he recommits eventually like Ewald. All of these recruiting “troubles” are nonsensical self-inflicted wounds because we have some regents who hate sports that are keeping Warde employed and Warde promotes the money to go to the AD. It’s pathetic and only Michigan has “leaders” this inept.

It’s not the money cannons…

It’s not the money cannons. It’s Warde and the AD not promoting and directing the money to NIL. He hogs the money for the AD. Only school in America. And due to us having regents that hate sports, we chose Warde over Jim. If you actually think UK boosters have more money than UM boosters I don’t know what to say. These continue to be all self-inflicted, 100% controllable wounds. And no other school deals with this as poorly as Michigan. But gotta make the regents who hate sports happy.

Exactly. OSU is eons ahead…

Exactly. OSU is eons ahead of us when it comes to adaptability in the ever-changing college football landscape. Our “leaders” love to proclaim to hold to some stupid narrative as an excuse why we’re always ten years behind the 8 ball. You actually think Michigan’s recruiting is justified after winning a natty? Please

So why can’t Michigan do…

So why can’t Michigan do that exactly? You’re drinking all of their kool-aid that it’s not a part of their “culture,” when in reality, it’s Michigan being lazy and incompetent with NIL because of good old Warde. Why would Michigan go after Zaquan and Underwood at all of top players are mutually exclusive from their culture?

Then why is Michigan…

Then why is Michigan interested in the Underwood’s and Zaquan’s of the world? Gee, it’s almost like there are top guys that DO fit the culture, but UM can’t get them because of its putrid NIL, thanks to Warde.

There you go. The amount of…

There you go. The amount of Michigan fans in denial of their putrid approach to recruiting and transfers, somehow justifying it with the natty, are in for a rude awakening. Just bc you win a natty, doesn’t mean you’re doing everything right. Michigan wouldn’t get a JJ if NIL were a thing when he was recruited. Think about that.

Never said we suck. Just…

Never said we suck. Just saying we shoot ourselves in the foot unnecessarily. Take OSU’s level of recruiting and add in our culture and we’re unbeatable year in and year out.

When you connect to things…

When you connect to things via cause and effect that aren’t really connected.

They want to play. They’d go…

They want to play. They’d go to Michigan is Michigan tried half has hard in recruiting as the rest of the power programs. it’s almost like UM likes the unnecessary challenge.

We don’t have the coaching…

We don’t have the coaching advantage anymore to make up for the talent deficit. The later of which is 100% controllable.

Well, if you like winning…

Well, if you like winning championships, doing everything you can on your control to do so would probably be wise. Again, you’re making a cognitive fallacy here. It amazes me how many fans are okay with Michigan not getting the Underwood’s of the world when it’s 100% in their control. I’m sure people will be whining again when we start losing again because we don’t have the coaching advantage to make up for the talent gap that’s 100% controllable.

Not at all how it went down.

Not at all how it went down.

That’s what people said…

That’s what people said about Downs going to Georgia. And then OSU, you know, actually tried, and got him.

So you agree with making it…

So you agree with making it unnecessarily harder to win? You’re making a cognitive fallacy by equating winning a natty to saying we aren’t making it harder on ourselves.

Or, you know, maybe Michigan…

Or, you know, maybe Michigan could tamper and have NIL worth a damn, but in true Michigan way, they have to be 10 years behind the changing landscape while OSU is out ahead of it. And this is fully controllable. Thank the regents who hate sports and prevent Manuel from being fired, who we chose over Harbaugh.

Unlike Michigan, when UCONN…

Unlike Michigan, when UCONN wins the natty, they get who they want because their AD doesn’t shake his fist at NIL while the rest of the country pounces.

Meanwhile Gene Smith…

Meanwhile Gene Smith commented at the game last year how he is in bed with Petitti. Michigan doesn’t know how to play the dirty game and OSU’s PR game while masking their own cheating combined with Michigan’s idiocy and wussiness to fight back makes it look like we are the cheaters. I give up.

With Warde? Nah, he’ll be on…

With Warde? Nah, he’ll be on his knees with a notary. So glad Michigan chose Warde over the best football coach we’ve ever had. Only at michigan

Or, get this, maybe Michigan…

Or, get this, maybe Michigan should get with it and start paying players like EVERY OTHER SCHOOL. Stop blaming recruits and their values and start looking inward. Michigan is the only school who operates this stupidly. They can’t recruit coming off a natty and some of you blame the recruits? There’s one common denominator.

3-4 regents who hate sports…

3-4 regents who hate sports and have more power than Santa picked Warde over Jim. We can’t get out of our own way.  Ever.

Ivory Tower as in the… Ivory Tower as in the regents who support him?
It’s not bc the regents…

It’s not bc the regents supporting Warde might threaten to fire Santa. I cannot tell you how those regents are the REAL problem. Hell it took a student protest to get rid of Brandon. They can’t accomplish anything with these cowards who hide from the public light.

EXACTLY. It’s the 3-4…

EXACTLY. It’s the 3-4 regents who support Warde and prevent him from being fired that have been the biggest bottleneck for UM for decades. And yet they hide from the public in a cowardly way. We don’t even know the right people to vote out!!

It’s been this case with…

It’s been this case with everybody. Warde needs to be the powerful one to teach these “ethics” and the ones who allow him to do this, the 3-4 regents who support him, are the REAL problem. They’ve tried taking down UM athletics for decades. And they hide from the public eye like cowards. Why is this so easy for other schools to know how to compete with sports?

So it’s regents that are…

So it’s regents that are keeping Warde here over Jim? Why do we have such dumb regents compared to most schools. We’re the only school that doesn’t understand that you can be good at sports and prestigious at the same time

It’s the regents holding it…

It’s the regents holding it up I’m sure. You think Santa liked that he had to do everything himself. A bigger problem than Warde (a huge problem) is the people that wouldn’t fire him. It takes a student protest to fire anyone

If all the regents were…

If all the regents were Jordan Acker, they would have asked Jim plainly what it takes to keep him, and they would have fired Warde, and Jim would have stayed.

The biggest problem of all continues to be regents at this school that don’t understand that you can play the dirty game and be successful in athletics and still stay prestigious. See: Duke. Amazing we are the only school that have inhibitions like this.

I’m sure Warde was very…

I’m sure Warde was very proactive and offered Minter a competitive offer to the NFL. Glad it takes a student protest to get an AD fired. The biggest thing holding back football is leadership/admin and that has always been the case. This school doesn’t deserve Jim Harbaugh. It’s the biggest difference between us and OSU and is painfully large. If we couldn’t make it happen with a coach who just won the title, it ain’t happening with anybody.

This isn’t the main problem…

This isn’t the main problem. The main problem is how our leadership is incapable of firing any AD. Remember, it took a protest with Dave Brandon.

He should cut Juwan’s…

He should cut Juwan’s contract in half.

Exactly. And if they couldn…

Exactly. And if they couldn’t get it right for Harbaugh, they never will. Being a Michigan fan is way more miserable than it should be because 95% of the things that tick us off are 100% controllable.

Ok so then who were the…

Ok so then who were the people against it that delayed it? The same regents who support Warde and prevent him from being fired? The same people who couldn’t even make a decision to fire Brandon? THESE are the cancers to Michigan’s athletic success and we don’t even know who they are?

School with functional and…

School with functional and leadership worth anything wouldn’t have given Harbaugh any reason to leave, let alone 737389292 reasons.

I mean you’re absolutely…

I mean you’re absolutely right. He put his petty grudge in front of what’s best for the Michigan program. What’s worse, Michigan had ample time to fire his ass and didn’t have the leadership to get that done, because some regents supported Warde. Those regents are unfit to have sway on sports matters and are also who didn’t fire Dave Brandon, which needed a protest. Rinse repeat, the real problem are the regents. Only at Michigan.

He didn’t even check to see… He didn’t even check to see if Michigan could get an exception with the 7 day posting rule in Michigan. He had two months to do so? Him botching Jim will most likely be the worst internal failure of any kind any of our teams experience.
We won’t do a damn thing…

We won’t do a damn thing about bc Michigan leadership sucks. Real leaders fight back, defend their coach, support their coach, and extend him. Our AD did none of that and leadership was incapable of firing him.

Maybe it’s the regents’…

Maybe it’s the regents’ fault Warde isn’t fired. You think that Santa really wants Warde around with how much he had to do for him?

Even if Michigan all the sudden fired Warde and started being proactive (gasp!) with athletics, no move will ever compensate losing the best coach we ever had due to reasons that were 100% controllable. Harbaugh did only start looking after the pay cut

The bigger problem then…

The bigger problem then Warde are the regents or whoever that support him. Why is it so hard for UM leadership to do anything about an AD? It took a protest to fire Brandon. The REAL problem are the people hiding who continually bottleneck doing anything productive when it comes to athletics. They are either too stupid about sports, don’t care, or genuinely have the wrong priorities. THOSE people are the problem and need to be outed to the public.

And what if this was…

And what if this was Sherrone Moore who beat OSU three times in a row, but demanded the language that Harbaugh wants in a new contract to protect himself. What would Michigan do? Just let Moore walk? How would that look? The Chargers are actually a copout for Michigan. Do you see how absurd this is? Why wouldn’t OSU hire a PI firm again in the future once the next coach beats them? Not retaining Harbaugh validated their move and proved how stupid UM leadership is.

All of you guys are…

All of you guys are completely missing the point. It IS an inflection point. Either you give Harbaugh what he wants, and he either chooses the NFL or you keep your best coach possibly ever AND have shows your willingness to fight the NCAA so something like this never happens again. Also, other teams will no longer put you under a microscope. The NCAA wants no part of a lawsuit and would fold like KU and everything is great again. Can you imagine OSU not doing this for a coach or KU not doing this for Self? Then why can’t Michigan do it for a coach who just won the damn title!

Or, you do what Michigan is doing, not supporting him by doing what KU did for Self, validating what the NCAA, Big Ten, and most of all, OSU, did. Now they know what to do when Michigan has a good enough coach to beat them. Just have a PI firm investigate them (ensuring that Michigan can never pay recruits or do anything that any other team does) because even if the coach gets through the year, Michigan will not do what it takes to the fight the NCAA and retain him. On to the next coach, and so forth.

What if this was Sherrone Moore, who had no NFL options, but demanded that this language would be in his contract. What would happen? Michigan would let him go? UM is too stupid to realize this until it would put them in the limelight like this or this happens with several coaches. Mark my word: OSU will now do the same thing with the next coach who succeeds to beat them at Michigan.

I have a feeling that if no…

I have a feeling that if no NFL team offered Harbaugh, he wouldn’t come back to Michigan unless they agreed to his verbiage requests. I kind of wish that would happen, where no NFL team offers him, to expose just how bad UM leadership is doing what it takes to compete. The Chargers will be a cop out for Warde and Co.

If Harbaugh, a coach that…

If Harbaugh, a coach that just won you a championship, isn’t retained, because the AD wants “his” guy, then the AD needs to be fired immediately. Also, Warde hasn’t done anything with NIL for Juwan Howard, his guy, who has complained to Warde about it. So nope.

Which is 100% on Michigan…

Which is 100% on Michigan and Jim is right that he didn’t get the love that he deserved.

“Not getting a deal done was…

Not getting a deal done was not Warde’s fault   The uncertainty surrounding Jim’s ability to coach due to the NCAA created too many issues to overcome through negotiations alone.”

This is where I disagree. Jim almost left last season and Warde didn’t even offer him an extension. That’s the love thing Jim mentioned. Now, Warde/UM won’t do what KU did for Bill Self with catering to his language. Watch that become a trend that Michigan will look bad on for not catering to. Tom Mars tweeted so. And Self didn’t have the leverage Jim does! No love for Jim there either.

It’s as simple as that. If Jim is the honorable man that you (and I) think he is, then we have to believe that if he got the contracts verbiage and demands he desired, he’d be back. Or else he wouldn’t have said that at all.

This is the NCAA, Big Ten, and OSU taking advantage of weak Michigan, and UM folding, proving their enemies were right in the first place. This was the inflection point Michigan could have changed their philosophy and actually became serious and competing in sports. If not for retaining a coach who just won you a title, it will never happen.

Michigan chose that it would…

Michigan chose that it would still fire Jim based on what the NCAA says, than stick up for him and keep him whatever the NCAA says. Michigan isn’t serious about winning.

If there are no NCAA issues,…

If there are no NCAA issues, he re-signs right? OSU knew that all it would take was one controversy to throw Michigan “leadership” off its feet and unable to cater to Harbaugh with contract language like Kansas did so easily to Self. So now we can be bitter at OSU, Big Ten, NCAA, AND Michigan. Perfect follow up for winning a title.

This was a huge inflection…

This was a huge inflection point to see if Michigan leadership will finally do what it will take to win in college sports. If bringing back a coach who won you a national championship won’t convince Michigan to do it, nothing will. We are screwed. Somehow the geniuses at Kansas have figured out how to deal with the NCAA better than Michigan has by giving Self the language he wanted and fighting the NCAA. Why is it so damn hard for Michigan?!

Or, you know, we could do…

Or, you know, we could do what Kansas did, which was give Bill Self the language he wanted and fight the NCAA tooth and nail in court if it gets that far. Then the NCAA wussed out. Instead? Michigan lets the NCAA win yet again! It’s not hard, people! Michigan ignorantly thinks that “playing the game” to win in collegiate athletics somehow diminishes the school’s prestige. Look at Texas, USC, Duke. Why are they so much smarter not to think this?

(No subject)

If Michigan had proactive…

If Michigan had proactive leadership, then Harbaugh would be here. Can you imagine OSU bucking to the NCAA and not doing everything it can to re-sign a coach who won it all?
