Not necessarily, the HC inexperience and the NCAA scandals last year will likely yield some sort of negative recruiting material for this year. None the less, all of it can be squashed soon, and I think Moore may be a better recruiter and more relatable than Harbaugh was.
I’d like to imagine some recruits will start committing next week at the spring game and a domino effect may start as it's still kinda early in the process, but times ticking and the class has like 3 commits right now and it’ll get ugly if summer rolls around and we got nothing in the class.
The should trade that pick down to Minnesota or Denver and use that pick on a lineman or receiver. They have no wide receivers on their roster, and there are a lot of talented receivers this class.
The whole OJ Simpson saga, from the Bronco Chase to the trial and aftermath, doesn’t feel real.
Another would be Kevin Durant joining Golden State. Seemed unfair and too cowardly for a MVP to join a 73 win team who just beat you after you chocked a 3-1 series lead to go to the finals.
I’d like Jamison, but with Moore’s track record he seems to hire coaches he’s worked with or are recommended through association. I wonder if our latest analyst becomes DL coach, but I’d really like Jamison as Illini have had some good lines last few years.
I feel like Gach is going to commit here soon, he’s been a frequent visitor since last fall, has expressed interest in Moore and Michigan, and is an in state kid. Would be good to secure commitments soon for 2025, which from what I’ve read the staff is hoping is a big class (especially the back 7).

Not that I’m calling for him, but had Beilein stayed, the potential 2021 roster could’ve been (had he kept his recruits):
Isaiah Livers, Eli Brooks, Austin Davis, Brandon John’s, David DeJulius, Collin Castleton, Zeb Jackson, Franz Wagner, Cole Bajema, and Jalen Wilson. That roster would have been his best IMO and honestly looking back explains Howard’s 1 year success. Castleton was all SEC, Wilson was a key cog in Kansas winning it all and a draft pick, Wagner a lotto pick, Livers a draft pick, and Davis and Brooks were perfect program guys you need for a locker room and depth. That roster is 10 deep easy!
Arguably the second best UM running back behind only his prodigy Corum. A national champion coach, All-American player, has his degree from here, helluva recruiter and developer of the running back position, helped earn wins over OSU, intern coached a game, and he can leave as an ultimate Michigan Man. Best of luck wherever coaching takes you Mike Hart!
Honestly his comp is Zach Wilson at BYU (not Jets). Similar build, similar play style at, hell even same haircut. I think character and leadership skill wise JJ is light years ahead of Wilson, and having played for Harbaugh ran NFL concepts in college so it’ll be less of a learning curve. The Russell Wilson and Jim Harbaugh comps also are pretty accurate IMO.
I do know the “known friends and trusted agents” portion of Brian’s write ups of football games can be replaced with Moore’s post PSU game “I love the shit out of you guys” for game MVPs or standouts.
Living in SW Ohio I am a die hard Bengals fan, but before Burrow my “playoff team of interest” was New England cause of Brady. In NFC I like Rams for McVay and Rams colors. Lions also have a soft spot simply cause their franchise was cursed much like Bengals franchise so that’s like our sister franchise.
Had a string of extremely talented pieces (Carbonnet, Latu) but they were a 7-8 win team that relied on its defense. LOS play is ok, QB development lackluster, Chip is far from what he used to be.
Not shocked since he, Day, and their OL coach all worked together on prior staffs. Better OC than BoB but idk if it move the needle per say considering Chip’s hatred for recruiting, philosophical differences to Day, and his lack of toughness at LOS relative to what Michigan has brought.
Id imagine with Moore being a first time HC, it might help ease his worries knowing both his coordinators aren’t first time coordinators calling the shots. Minter called the shots on defense last two years, Clink didn’t and Wink has. Campbell has been an OC for programs in the past, plus our new TE coach was a OC. A year with Clink being more involved and learning will be huge. Clink has coached under McDonald and Minter, he should be ready.
Dad worked all week and I got to bond with him on weekends, and we’d watch football. He was a Michigan fan, and I liked their uniforms and wanted to bond with him. First game I watched was 2006 THE GAME, and so all I knew was pain as a fan. Last 3 years have been Valhalla for Dad and I to experience. My favorite part of football season is while games are on either driving to watch with him, or him calling me on the phone and we basically talk the entire game about what we are watching, our lives, and so on.
In all seriousness I’m not surprised considering we lost our coach and staff is barely filled out I can’t blame him. Plus he won’t join campus till like 2026, I am not worried about a kid who has two years till he joins campus and then probably another to get back into game shape from his mission.
Something I noticed from his interview on the Herd and Eisen’s show is Jim seems more loose, relaxed, and frankly happier. He has a more jovial demeanor like when he started here, I think the stress of OSU, NCAA, and cycle of CFB got to him. Happy for him but JJ is a project, not the #1 pick, he will need time to develop IMO
Happy bday Coach Moore! Kinda hard to find a bday gift that can top being a national champ and undefeated as a coach (especially two top ten wins and a victory over OSU).
Gonna miss him but with Moore and Paige returning and Sabb coming on in bowl season, it’s good to get younger guys like Berry and Hillman snaps or they portal out.

Probably best case for continuity, plus QBs/players seem to like him. I hope they promote Hart to like “run game coordinator” if Hart is feeling passed over to keep him involved and appreciated. Time to find a DC, TE, S, LB, and ST coach!

I believe Eli Owens committed to Head Coach Sherrone Moore. Either way, he’s a potential pillar for this class!
