Thank you, Jim

Some are probably upset right now but I'm content and thankful for the past eight years, and especially the past three. He did what he set out to do and what we hoped he could do.

Let's keep this train rolling.

Thanks coach, what a run as good as any three years since I have been alive

Coach Moore sounds good to me!   The road goes on forever and the party never ends!

Go Blue!

I'm happy for Harbaugh and what he accomplished at Michigan. However we have to figure out how to stop losing head coaches. Beilein, Bakich, Harbaugh, men's tennis coach in the past 5 years. It isn't working with Warde and I don't think Harbaugh leaving is his biggest issue. Nothing gets done. The contract with Harbaugh was supposed to be done last February. We still don't have a new wrestling/volleyball arena, Mel Pearson, Shemy, NIL, Caleb Love, Juwan etc. It's getting hard to defend him. It's time to do what Nebraska did to their AD when he hired Mike Riley. Let's go in a different direction and find someone with new ideas that isn't a dinosaur that played for Bo.

The stress of college football was wearing on Harbaugh. At 60 years old, I don't think he had a lot of years of recruiting/portalling/NIL'ing/fighting the NCAA left in him. I honestly see this as a great time to turn it over to a young coach who is eager to grind, rather than leaving in 2 years, 5 years, 10 years, or whatever it may have been, as a worn down version of himself (like Saban). He gets to kiss the trophy and walk away standing tall.

It’s interesting.

As a father, I mark time by the age of my son and what he was doing when certain events happened.

In December of 2014, he was 9 years old and we were a bad foootball team in a bad place.

Over the years, we watched Michigan grow strong and eventually turn the tide against OSU and win the championship.

My son is a freshman in college now and all these memories feel bittersweet as a great era of Michigan football is now over as is my son’s childhood.

Both were great while they lasted, but I have a sinking feeling things will feel differently in the future even though the future is bright for both of them.

Thank you for the decade of hard work getting the program back on track.

No thanks for leaving in such a manner and time that risks undoing much of that work.

Hail to the Vi…

Thank you Jim for the memories. Thank you for all the heart you gave to this program and thank you for teaching these kids how to become men. You had a goal when you came back and you accomplished it. College football was better with you in it. Good luck on your NFL journey.

I don’t begrudge him.  He did everything we could reasonably hope he would do at Michigan. He clearly wanted to go back to the NFL and he leaves a solid foundation.

Gods speed Jim.

He's a legend in my book and we were fortunate to have him as long as we did.   He's going out on top at his alma mater which is a storybook ending.  He's chasing his NFL dream and I will root for him to do well.  Thanks for everything Coach and especially this past season that I'll remember the rest of my life.

We get at least one Wile E. Coyote year, right?!? /s

In all seriousness, I think Sherrone Moore is going to be an AWESOME Head Coach!  Couldn’t be more excited about the guy!

Godspeed Michigan Man. Good luck whenever you aren't playing / don't impact the Detroit Lions and Hail to the Victors.

Now let's hire the first African American head coach in Michigan history in Sherrone Moore and run this thing back! Go Blue!

It was bound to happen.  Difficult for a Michigan/Detroit sports fan to have any sustained joy after a championship.  Days after the Pistons won the '89 NBA championship, Rick Mahorn is snatched away in the expansion draft.  After the Red Wings won their first Stanley Cup in 40+ years, Vladdy is injured in a car accident.  Now M finally reaches the mountaintop and we lose our coach.  Don't even want to think about what will happen after the Lions win the Super Bowl.

That said, thanks for all you've done coach.  Good luck and Go Blue!

You cannot tell me that anyone would have been unhappy if we had been promised in advance what has happened over the past three years and with Harbaugh leaving after such fabulous results.  We are all better for what has happened.  Memories for a lifetime.  Frankly, memories for all time.  100 years from now, it won't be a whole lot different than looking back to the early 1900s and the success during those days.  The last three years will be written in stone forever.  Thank you, Jim!

Let's go Team 145!  Go Blue!

When Jim Harbaugh was hired, I remember thinking to myself "He'll be here for 3 years, but in those 3 years he'll give us at least one real chance at a National Championship".

In the end, he was here 9 years, took Michigan out of the dump Hoke left us in, beat OSU 3 years in a row, gave us 3 real chances at a National Championship and won one. That's a success no matter how you look at it!

Best of luck in the pros Jim! Chargers are now my favorite team in the AFC!

Coach Harbaugh did what he came to do — took us from the dark days of RichRod and Brady Hoke all the way to a National Championship, with three straight Big Ten titles and wins over OSU along the way. These are monumental achievements for a program in a cold climate that doesn't recruit at Ohio State or Alabama levels. He did all this with character and class (no matter what the haters say), and by humbling himself, changing his coaching habits, and getting the assistant coaches he needed to get us over the hump.

I don’t blame Coach for wanting to pursue a different goal and not wanting to put up with the NCAA and Big Ten bullshit. He made it fun to be a fan again, and he's a Michigan legend forever. Thank you.

The last time I was in Michigan was in August 2015 for my grandmother's funeral in Allegan.  On the way back home to Pittsburgh, we took a detour through Ann Arbor so my kids could see the campus for the first time.  We didn't have a whole lot of time to spend there, but upon pulling up to Michigan Stadium I got out and stood in front of the gates for the first time in 16 years.  I thought, "Jim, you're here, beat OSU and bring home a championship."

It took longer than I expected, but he did it, and I'll always be grateful for that.  Thanks for everything, Jim.

Not unexpected...it was bound to happen sooner or later - just wish it had been a couple of years later. If you've ever had a hot gf who eventually leaves you for somebody with greater resources who can promise her more than you could reasonably give, this is a familiar feeling. Can't blame them too much I guess, but it hurts, and I can't honestly say I can wish him well at the moment. What kind of message does it send to the players.

As those who lived in San Diego at one time and rooted for the Chargers, just one more reason to hate Spanos.

I think it's totally fair to be angry. I can't fathom a program doing less (recruiting specifically) with the three years of sustained success than Michigan. I put all of that at the feet of Jim Harbaugh interviewing at the close of every season and chasing away high ranking players worried about his future. And as long as I'm processing my grief I blame him for last seasons TCU game plan, because he wasn't focused on preparing for that game but rather getting ready to get an NFL job.

So thanks Coach for getting Team 144 to the pinnacle, but also not sad to see this constant will he won't he circus end. He's a weird guys and hopefully he finds success with the Chargers before he wears out his welcome in LA.

Many thanks to Jim Harbaugh.  He brought the program out of the wilderness and restored it to its rightful place among the college football elite.  I wish nothing but the best for him in the NFL.

The best three years as a fan I could have ever hoped for, with the best kids, and the best culture. He brought everything to the table and ultimately resurrected the program. He also left what I believe is an acceptable succession plan in place.

Thank you coach Harbaugh!

The Rich Rod and Hoke years had me at state where I actually dreaded game days. I’m too much of a fan to ever miss watching a game, but I certainly wasn’t enjoying watching my team play so poorly week in and week out. Immediately upon taking over, you turned the team around. It took a while to get it to the top, but I never watched a game against an inferior opponent expecting the team to find a way to lose. Saturdays were fun again.

Winning the national championship this year was the perfect way to end your run. Good luck in the NFL.

I’m happy for Harbaugh and thankful for his time here. Nine years, three Big Ten championships and one national title - I’d sign up for that again in a heartbeat!

I am very sad to see him leave, but very happy for Jim Harbaugh the man and coach.  I sincerely hope he gets the double-header championships he's wanted all his life.  His coaching ability certainly deserves it.

And I am very thankful that things worked out for him to come back to Michigan and build a piece of football history in Ann Arbor.  Jim Harbaugh gave a lot to Michigan, and he got a lot from Michigan--a perfect relationship.

It's been a magical run.  I'm hoping the best is yet to come with Coach Moore.

Every single Ohio State coach since WWII has either been fired or resigned in shame.  Every single one.  Ryan Day is on deck.

But Jim Harbaugh at Michigan gets to walk away on top, as a champion and as a legend that will only grow over time.
