DeVries needs to be looked at with * perhaps. His son is really good, he will be a senior next year. He likely only went to Drake because of his dad. Does that sku some of his success last couple of years? I personally think so.
Actually adding 2 other west coast teams make it easier. Basketball for example, will for sure play back to back road games during week/weekend and just stay out west. Being just usc/ucla makes schedules harder to align, causing more “going out west just to play 1 game”. Think you see this on several sports. Like baseball, you will have a part of your schedule that is a west coast trip.
Why aren’t lotteries truly done out in open. Show should start by showing how many ping pong balls Each team gets With their record. Then show putting them in the machine. Then pick out picks 14 down to 1 on all true random on national tv. Why don’t they do this? Because they want to control who gets certain picks in the back room.
At this point, anyone other than 3-4 guys (Reed/Dug/GW definitely) yo-yo Perhaps. Not sure on Glenn. Everyone else should likely leave. They need to push some out to open some spots. Portal needs to be aggressive.
I do think it’s important we give Juwan this entire offseason. College sports are goofy with NIL/transfer and play right away. Portal filled with talent. Juwan better get to work. Recommend he tells a few of his own guys to hit it, and we add 3-4 more dudes. Get a roster that’s tougher and plays good D. We definitely need more talent though, Juwan needs to hit portal aggressively. This CAN NOT be the roster we take to new season. Evbuomwan From Princeton would be a tremendous piece. He’s 6-8, but a “do it all” kind of guy. Can dribble. Pass. Obviously will be a hot commodity if he hits portal (can’t stay at Princeton, so pros or another college).
Gotta beat Rutgers. They are awful on O. Really down right now. Comes down to Purdue. They are vulnerable. Would be the true make or break to dancing on Friday. As a fan, I just ask for a shot at Purdue and see what happens.
Last play was fine. Great look by a shooter when D is going to try and foul. Biggest issue is how poorly their game plan was on D. Shannon is quick. Played him at half court and up in his space. Purdue would be a big signature win. Maybe play in. But think we make it going 2-1 in BTT. The Net and KenPom ratings would be really strong.
