If Day did hire the PI firm, directly or otherwise, then the damage it did has probably exceeded his wildest dreams.

Michigan only has one option left, and fortunately for them, it’s the one option where you can really, truly hurt him back just as badly, if not worse.

Winning on the field.

Day, at least for now, has baked in excuses that seemingly the entire country has bought into for why they’ve lost these last two years. If he loses on Saturday, the damage he’s done to Michigan will still be there. But he will have his own reckoning to deal with. He will have lost to an interim coach, a team without their head coach, their LBs coach, and without their “sign stealing savant” who apparently conducted the biggest college football scandal of the last 50 years. There will be no other excuse to hide behind. OSU fans will have to come to terms with the fact that they were just beaten by a better team.

And that’s not a realization that I’m 100% confident Ryan Day can survive as a head coach. It would be abject humiliation.

Has there actually been any confirmation that it was Ryan Day who hired the PI firm, or is it just something that gets repeated?

The main source I kept hearing it from was Isaiah Hole, and his credibility has been tainted a bit the past 4 weeks because so much of what he guaranteed has been wrong.

It probably wasn't Day himself who hired the firm.  That would leave an awkward paper trail if found out.  But someone at OSU for sure.

It's not some random coincidence that OSU insiders knew in advance when every leak was dropping.  How would they know this about a story involving a rival school?  Even our own insiders didn't know as much.

Does it matter who actually hired the firm? As we have heard over and over again, the coach is responsible for everything which happens with the program. Whether the payments came from Day's checking account doesn't matter. He knew what they were doing and without a doubt saw whatever they came up and may have had a hand in what the game plan was for what they were going to do with what they found.

All I’m taking from this is that if we lose this game, his postgame tirade is going to make the ND postgame look like child‘s play.

We absolutely can’t let this guy win.

Does he honestly believe what he’s saying?? A grown man, football coach, leader of young men, and he’s spewing this garbage. He doesn’t even have to address it. Others in Ohio would do that for him. Just say ‘no comment.’ What an embarrassment of a coach.

This used to be a respectful rivalry unlike the assholes down in EL who turned that series toxic.

Well the asshole in Columbus turned this one toxic as well because of his little teeny weenie issues.
