Bama has reported that the players have or will have call a players only meeting to see who will sit out and who won't.

What does that have to do…

What does that have to do with playing well on the field?

The definition of insanity…

The definition of insanity...

No matter the players you…

No matter the players you get, you still have to develop and coach them up. Osu has the same players from their worst defense in years last year. They only lost 1 starter from last year's defense. The biggest change was that they got rid of the d coordinators and brought in new coordinators that Day can work with.

Look at northwestern in the mid to late 90s. That had back to back very good seasons, won the big ten and rose bowl. They do not and have not been able to land top recruiting classes.

We need better position coaches with great recruiting abilities. But it's getting harder every year we don't win our bowl games or rivals.

It still comes down to…

It still comes down to execution, preparation, and game planning. Giving money to players doesn't make them better. If OSU players are getting paid then why do some transfer out?

If Michigan paid players, how does that make them catch balls? How does that make them cover receivers vs staring in the offensive backfield? How does that make the players stop from trying to take off shoes?

There is so much that goes into winning. It's not giving money to 20 year olds.

When you get the good recruits, it's what you do with them. Look at Miami. They have had really good recruiting classes but they shit the bed on development, team cohesion and bad play calls.

He is pointing out and…

He is pointing out and breaking down the film after the game was played. If anything it should be helping brown learn how to coach defense.

It's about working with the…

It's about working with the best recruits you can get. JT barret wasn't that great of a QB but Ohio state won a lot with him. In fact Ohio state's passing game wasn't all that good until a couple of years ago. It was always up and down. There needs to be solid line play on both sides of the ball. IMO, it's difficult for the head coach to make all that happen himself. The head coach needs to set the standard with each of the coordinators and position coaches. And hold them accountable for the schemes and player development. When you deep dive into any team on their success or opportunities, you can typically see a direct correlation to the staff and team chemistry along with how they prepare through out the season and off season. If you study the professionals in the nfl, NBA etc. The best players all usually speak about how hard they work, the time they put in but also finding a balance to other parts of their life. If building an elite team was easy, then their would be more elite teams.

You do realize that football…

You do realize that football is more than just one play right? What about the other 4 qtrs of play? In every game you could call out any number of plays and say "what if that went different". Losing closely scored games will always hurt. It's about consistent level of play from all positions on the team. You could have a team of 5 star recruits against 3 star recruits and the more fundamentally sound still has the better chance of winning. This is how upsets happen.  Along with a good game plan from the coaches. Also at this level, it is extremely important that the staff and team all have chemistry. It's easy to have the homer glasses on but try and read books about any successful teams season or successful coaches from any team sport. There is a lot more to winning in a competitive sport that requires more than what most realize. Check out Michigan podcast 107. Its hard to hear but he makes very valid points.

The problem with your theory…

The problem with your theory is that you can make that same argument for either side. So many plays are made during the game that while some stick out to the home team others stick out to the visiting team. UM receivers could have caught more balls and JK could have lost that fumble instead of bouncing back into his hands but it didn't happen that way. The JT spot went to OSU but I bet there were many other plays that could have went a different way as well if we went back to re watch from the beginning. Hell, tonight Russell Wilson tried batting the ball down but batted it right to a Vikings defender that ran it back for a TD.

I recall an old coach stating that we need to dominate the game as to not leave it up to the ref.

I wonder if our players…

I wonder if our players should try to take their shoes off some more?

It's about the culture of…

It's about the culture of the program, the coordinators and assistant coaches. Jim is a decent coach but getting paid 7.2 million or whatever needs to create a better culture, and hire better coordinators and assistant coaches.

What about our players…

What about our players untying their shoes and taking them off in the middle of the game on national tv? That doesn't look good. Or what about the late hit on their QB after he was obviously out of bounds? I think we need a new culture within our team. Something is very off and long time coach,  Mattison leaving last year was a big sign.

I don't think he gets fired.

I don't think he gets fired.

We did try untying their…

We did try untying their shoes on national TV. That doesn't look good either.

Preach

Preach

It doesn't help that we have…

It doesn't help that we have players that untie shoes on national TV. What the actual fuck is wrong with our program? Are we even a football school anymore?

We tried cheating today. We…

We tried cheating today. We untied JK's shoe after tackling him. Not sure how that was supposed to be effective as we got a penalty out if it.

If you study them closely,…

If you study them closely, their level of preparation is off the charts. Their recruiting is very good too. I think they are like in the top 5 every year. As long as they keep winning, they are going to continue to get top recruits. Meanwhile, we are falling more and more behind. It might help to recruit and develop a solid QB recruit. I would have thought harbaugh make our QB play better, but he hasn't really. We just suck now. We are not elite.

Wow, you sound like someone…

Wow, you sound like someone that believes in fairy tales. It's about preparation, dedication, execution and and heart. Don't be a sore loser.

We suck. We shouldn't be…

We suck. We shouldn't be allowed to play football on the same field as........

There were lots of us and…

There were lots of us and national talking heads that thought UM would best OSU. Now that we had our pants pulled down And spanked again for 8 years in a row, we start making excuses? It's the program. Hell, winovich admitted that UM doesn't take OSU serious while they prepare all year for us. It obviously shows. Their program wants to win, ours doesn't.

Sounds like you are tired of…

Sounds like you are tired of losing to them.

I'm starting to get confused…

I'm starting to get confused. Is it go blue or we will be blue after another loss?

I guess we should admit that…

I guess we should admit that OSU is better and harbaugh is not the answer we are looking for?

Start the revenge tour! Oh…

Start the revenge tour! Oh wait, already tried that.

Yeah, osu is so good at…

Yeah, osu is so good at beating our ass. Makes me wonder if um should play football any more?

Yeah, imo they started by…

Yeah, imo they started by winning and over time they started to get better recruits.

I guess we will settle for losing to them every year.

Why are our players trying…

Why are our players trying to take off the shoe of their running back? Do we have no chance other than to be dirty?

Whatever it takes to beat…

Whatever it takes to beat osu

It's gonna suck if we hear…

It's gonna suck if we hear the O-H-I-O chant.

I wonder what Woodson would…

I wonder what Woodson would say if they asked him the same question. I want to know when Blue can win more than once every 7 years. What needs to happen for that to occur?

What did I just read?

What did I just read?

OSU was the underdog last…

OSU was the underdog last year. Usually a safe bet to pick the favored team. Let's see what happens tomorrow. I'm starting to get nervous already.......... can't start soon enough!

I see many different takes…

I see many different takes here and I feel that some may get lost in that the play on the field is mostly affected by preparation among other things. Of course it helps to have a culture created from the coaches to put the kids in the best position they can be put in. I guess I'm wondering if anyone feels if changes need to be made with the staff, win or lose this weekend. Or does a win or loss even matter? The point is how much longer does the university put up with losing to them? What is the narrative if blue wins? What is the narrative if blue loses? One of the 2 will happen.

Until a better system is put…

Until a better system is put into place, it's about winning all your games. We have yet to have 4 undefeated teams at the end of the season. As long as teams continue to at least have 1 loss, there will always be debate. Now Clemson and their schedule this year is worthy of another debate. So is the SEC and chicken shit Saturday.

I recall a year that their…

I recall a year that their first string QB was injured just before the season started, then we injured their second string when they were playing us just to lose to their 3rd string who went on to win the natty for them. When can we develop or recruit those kind of QBs? Hasn't our best QBs of recent memory come from transfers? Besides Fields, I think they have recruited and developed all of theirs.

The best way to get back is…

The best way to get back is to win on the field.

What about Washington?

What about Washington?

Still comes down to the play…

Still comes down to the play on the field. The preparation all year beginning with spring. Just because Chase borrowed money to send his girlfriend to the rose bowl doesn't some how help him get more sacks or tackles for losses. Lineman need to block him whether or not his girlfriend is in attendance.

Same goes for the OSU players selling their gold pants or championship jewelry. How does that make them play any better? Is still about dedication, preparation, and focus.

Remember the 90's? Those…

Remember the 90's? Those were the good ol times.

What needs to happen? New coaches? Change of recruiting philosophy?

How about just winning the big games?

What's it take?

The weather will feel great…

The weather will feel great with a win and will feel horrible with a loss.

He is definitely taking…

He is definitely taking advantage of what urban left behind. You will probably have to wait a season or 2 to find out what kind of coach he is for the long term. This Saturday will also be interesting. If the Wolverines win, that's self explanatory but if Day and the Buckeyes win? Where does Michigan go from there?

I feel for you. When are you…

I feel for you. When are you going to move away from there?

I would not pay much…

I would not pay much Attention to the lines. OSU was the under dogs last year and we all know how that turned out.

Do we really have to hope…

Do we really have to hope for injuries and weird intangibles to have a chance? Can't the coaches come up with a solid game plan?

The grave walk is nice but…

The grave walk is nice but we need more than that to get this win. Do you think we have what it takes to get this W? How many more losses by thee osu can we take?
