I have a habit of adopting a lower tier team each year and watching. Last year it was the Fighting Ivan Toney's of Brentford. Thinking I might go with Queen's Park Rangers this year. would be cool to see them get back in the PL.
I'd say that it takes time to establish relationships that players have been forming with coaches over the last several years. I think this is why you are seeing the coaches that were here, or came from another school having slightly more success. They have been on kids for years while Mike McDonald was coaching the Ravens. They should start to move the needle next year if they are truly elite recruiters. And obviously a winning season will help.

Kid looks strong, GC plays great competition so no worries there. He plays a little high off the snap, but it looks like he is stronger than everyone. And on the few reps he gets beat off the snap, he shows tremendous block shedding ability.
