This has to be fake news...

No one wants to go to the Jets willingly. Charger's maybe but people pay to get out of new york.

This is such BS it defies any reasonable logic. Harbaugh would never insult the University like this as well as many other issues.

Let’s see now, 10 sources say extension is a done deal and one freep article states he’s waiting on NFL offers with shit organizations. Right.

Every year people with a vested interest start baseless rumors that Harbaugh is going to the NFL. The source of those rumors ends up as either people that think they can get a fake scoop or competing organizations and coaches that are recruiting the same players.  You can chalk this one up to the same idiots and add those coaches trying to recruit or retain the same coordinators as Harbaugh. Unlike 90% of the coaches out there, Harbaugh has never been a bullshitter.

While you're probably correct, this speculative reporting will continue and even intensify as long as nothing official is announced by the AD. And the more this stuff gets thrown around out there, the more it's going to appear to any outsider that Harbaugh's job security is on shaky ground. So even if he comes back next year, he'll have a really hard time recruiting players, as well as assistant coaches with any potential.

Much like Texas did by openly pursuing Meyer, Michigan is putting itself in a position where going forward with the current coach is less and less tenable with each passing day.

You don't see it?

Freep is not Barstool Sports.  They are not publishing this unless there are actual sources

So who are the sources?  It is an obvious leak from the Harbaugh camp to get NFL teams (Jets, Chargers) to let him know quickly if they are serious about hiring him.

No way Warde or the AD leaks this out.

Also...Freep article is in no way at odds with the other reporting.  No other reporting is saying that the deal is signed and done.  They only go so far as to say that it is close, or that sources expect it to get be done and announced soon.

Freep is not Barstool sports. Well they aren't far from it. They make a claim citing unnamed sources about what Jim might be thinking,  and then say "No one truly knows what Harbaugh is planning to do — he is known for keeping his decision making process close to his own vest." That's pretty damn barstoolish.

Yes but they employ Rainer Sabin and did employ Rosenberg.

This is written by a "David Jesse" which I've never heard or read before tonight.  And I subscribe.

When it comes to sports they as click bait as they come.  The news department isn't horrendous if you like a left spin.

Not BS at all...   this is what an end of a regime looks like.  You think he wants to come back now after this season ?  He wants the Chargers job, all the way.  Even Hoke went back to San Diego.  If you step back from this, and realize why he didn't sign extension, its quite obvious.  And of all places he vacations the past few weeks in the one state on lockdown, in the area they play... Wake up...   He wants to coach Herbert and the Chargers.

As someone who is currently living in Southern California, I told my parents not to visit their grandson for his 1st holiday season due to the Covid outbreaks here.

Yet, Jim is vacationing here.  I’m surprised no one is talking about his odd choice.

Coming from a Giants fan, Joe Douglas is doing a pretty solid job with the Jets so far tbh. He's compiled a lot of 2nd and 3rd rounders, they have 2 1st rounders this year, and Becton was a great pick. Gase definitely hasn't been doing them any favors. They could get turned around pretty quickly especially being in the AFC east

Yep...People complaining about the attraction of the Jets job don’t really know the situation there (I presume most of these people are Lions fans). They have stockpiled draft picks and have a ton of wiggle room to make moves in FA, etc.

Gase’s incompetence has faded the star of the Jets, but - with the right hire and some good offseason moves - the Jets could start making splashes soon...

I should follow up, though, that I think Harbaugh ends up with the Chargers, if he decides to go back to the NFL. I think that’s a better fit for him overall, personally and professionally. Plus, I think the Chargers’ star is brighter in the near term than the Jets, even though they have to play the Chiefs twice annually...

Harbaugh's Dilemma: Rebuild Michigan or Rebuild the Jets

SPOILER ALERT: Even if he saw the Jets as being worth the challenge, because it might be substantially harder for him to finish first in the Big Ten East Division than it would be for him to finish first in the AFC East Division, Harbaugh is NOT viewed as one of the top ten choices to coach the Jets in 2021. LINK

The Jets should have more than enough suitable candidates to replace Adam Gase, even though they have needs at almost every position other than left tackle, left guard, punter, secondary receivers and safety. They could have at least 11 picks in the 2021 Draft, depending on what they decide to do about their disappointing quarterback Sam Darnold.

They should have over $73,000,000 in cap space to sign free agents.  LINK  Their owner, Woody Johnson, is expected to return to running the team when his ambassadorship ends this month.

The only thing that might've been in Jim Harbaugh's favor when it comes to finding an NFL head coaching job in 2021 is that the last time he took over an NFL team, the 49ers went from 6-10 before he took over to 13-3 in his first season and they lost in overtime in the NFC championship game that year. Also, under his coaching at San Francisco, QB Alex Smith made substantial improvement in that first season and Colin Kaepernick later led the 49ers to the Super Bowl. Right now, that seems like ancient history.

If the Chargers were still in San Diego I would give this report more credence.  But L.A.?  Not a great spot to raise a family even if you’re in the wealthier areas.

You're obviously not from LA. I know a ton of people who aren't rich and are raising families quite happily in the city, which has tons of great schools and is a great place to live. (Whereas San Diego is considered a whitebread backwater.) Like seriously who says this about the second largest city in the country -- a vibrant city by most any measure. Granted, COVID is terrible in LA. But that's temporary. Don't be a rube.

I lived in the San Diego area for 20 years and never heard that either.  Not a chance I would ever live in OC or LA.  And it’s not like I hate LA (I love it - h/t Randy Newman).  Just would never live there.

Also in regards to Philip Rivers living in San Diego after the Chargers moved, I would imagine a coach would have to live by the HQ.  It’s a long commute to Inglewood from La Jolla.

WTF are you talking about, 9pm?

This town has numerous party areas that are vibrant and stay open late.

Gaslamp Quarter Downtown, Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach, Encinitas, La Jolla just to name a few.

I lived in PB for 20 years and partied my ass off all the time with the hottest women anywhere in the world, so spare me.
