Isaiah Hole From Wolverine Wire Dropping Some Pre-Game Intel

Don't kill the messenger but Isaiah Hole from The Wolverine Wire just dropped this intel from one of his sources before the game:

Spoke to one person close to the Michigan side of things, who couldn’t speak publicly and requested anonymity, about a litany of subjects heading into the VRBO Citrus Bowl.

Here’s what I’ve got:

  • Jess Speight is starting at defensive tackle against Alabama.
  • Carlo Kemp is still very banged up, but will play. Though it might just be a handful of snaps.
  • Michigan is incredibly confident on offense. Expect a big game on that front, provided it executes.
  • Donovan Peoples-Jones is about 50/50 on returning.
  • Cesar Ruiz is leaning towards leaving.
  • Barring a significant promotion in Ann Arbor, expect Chris Partridge to sign with Ole Miss as defensive coordinator as soon as tomorrow.
  • There’s a rumor that this could be Nick Saban’s last game with Alabama, as he could be making a jump to the NFL to take over in a front office role with an NFC team. That’s not obviously from a Bama source, so grain of salt on that front, but we’ll see if Alabama comes out on fire if that’s been indicated.

That is....a lot. And a lot, in my opinion, of bad news for the boys in Maize and Blue. What say you?

Please let the jail sexing be somewhat gentle.  Worst news there is partridge.  Can't lose ace recruiters. Why can't one of the bad recruiters go?

Gattis is excellent too. Harbaugh is too. I suspect Harbaugh will grab another ace recruiter.

People on here somehow think JH won’t address his departure or that UM isn’t a very attractive place to coach.

I don’t know what Kiffin is thinking in hiring an inexperienced guy to be his DC when he faces Alabama, LSU, and Auburn every year.

That's one way to frame the question. Another one would be why would an experienced DC making DC $ already make a lateral move to a 3rd tier SEC team that competes in the same division as Alabama, LSU, Auburn, and TAMU? No proven quality coach is taking that job. So his coaches are a re-tread not in demand, a group of 5 DC, or a Power5 assistant. Partridge is a reasonable choice given the appeal of the job.

I've heard similar rumblings about Saban departing for the NFL.

This could be very interesting.

The Michigan related news is less interesting, because let's face it, we rarely get good news when it comes to football.

Im thinking Washington. Cleveland cannot have any kind of uncertainty with this hiring . Washington has rivera in place as a solid, steady hand. Would be better situation for all involved,  imo.

If he was better than Smith, why was he not offered a scholarship but the other one was? Best players play huh? Yea ok keep believing that is how this works in every situation. There a players playing not because they are better (have more talent) but because they are more seniority and younger players have to wait their turn.
