Yes this deserves a thread - RCMB totally unhinged, seething, waling right now.

971 state fan callers losing their minds on the air.

the four additional suspensions has pushed them over the edge, they are despondent right now

They are either seething because they think this is a coordinated conspiracy against their innocent program, or they are delusional enough to actually think they have a real chance at bowl eligibility.

It’s going to be interesting to see how Tuck handles this moving forward.

He is doing what he needs to do and it’s all in the public eye.

The problem is he has a locker room culture and a fan base culture that mostly thinks this was a bunch of nothing.

Combine that with they might lose their next four games and he could lose the team. He seems to be losing the fan base.

He is in the proverbial deep water and getting dragged down.  He is not likely to wood chop his way out of this. Tuck going.

Oh, it will be fascinating to see how he proceeds. Interestingly, his insane contract and no buyout is gonna be a huge incentive for him to do everything possible “by the book”. He has 95,000,000 reasons to not give them anything that could be used to fire him with cause. Which in turn, will hurt his team (compared to how their fans are used to it operating, especially with mork’s “zero tolerance”), which will further enrage the fan base, making his job harder, leading to more losses and madder fans. Is football worth $95,000,000 to msu? We might get to find out!

I'm glad Tuck got the big deal since MSU is highly unlikely to find a single donor, or even a small group, willing to buy him out.

I actually think he's a decent guy who got a job he probably wasn't ready for - Fickell was the right guy when Mork left with his mega-bonus - but who can blame a guy for taking a better deal. Hoke did the same.

The real problem that no Spartan fan can accept is that you make a deal with the devil (Mork) then you're stuck with deal. Mork was 2-4 vs. real coaches (Lloyd and JH). He feasted on RR and Hoke for 6-1. He is PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE for creating an unabashed HATRED in the fan base and players toward UM that NEVER existed under Perles or Saban or even Bobby W and John LLLLLLL.

The players have been groomed in 100% hatred toward UM and it's Mel's job to reverse the trend in attitude because another fracas like this and he's out mega-millions.

Im sure the contract has something within it to protect MSU's likeness, etc etc. If they truly think they went in the wrong direction with Tuck, they will find a way to get rid of him. Ultimately if the Billionaires are the ones footing the bill, they will have to make the final decision.

Unfortunately for MSU trends always regress back to the mean.

Dantonio was the highest win % coach for MSU for 5 or more seasons going back to 1915. Even better than Saban.

Dantonio also lined up across from RR and Hoke for a total of 6 wins out of 7 games in that period.

Sorry Sparty, it’s back to a historical 35% win percentage against Michigan from now on – like the level of Iowa, Illinois, Minn and Wisc.

Only PSU, Neb have close to a 45% and OSU is nearly 50-50.

Jones, fr, GA

Windmon, transfer, unlv

crump, transfer, az

Grose, Jr, oh

Young, fr, GA

Brown, transfer, MN

Wright, Sr, oh

White, transfer, Arizona mesa

Half are transfers by my count of those suspended so far. Me thinks that they're already at last chance u.

Maybe the portal is not the way to build a competent program.

Also plays into the culture of each program.

For an extended period, New England was able to take in malcontents e.g. Moss, Brown and get them to toe the line because Brady and Bill set up a high standard on how the program is done.

Kansas City is doing this now...

Harbaugh has created a high culture standard that allows him to:

A) he can be selective on who he brings in.  No mass influx of transfers (20+ like some other program)

B) The locker room culture will not tolerate any BS behavior

Sparty on the other hand?  Too many transfers, toxic locker room culture based upon full on hatred, and an administration and fanbase that manifests the toxicity.

What’s wild to me is that the MSU admin and HC are apologetic and don’t deny that the player’s acted reprehensibly. And there’s no hint of blaming Michigan from them at all.
Yet the MSU media and fans are working overtime to pretend it was all Michigan’s fault.

If Mel Tucker really cares about doing the right thing, he should probably call out his own damn fan base at this point. The fact that the coach and president have issued apologies, taken responsibility (mostly), and not attempted to deflect blame while their fanbase continues to act like this is somehow acceptable behavior is insane to me. I have a very good friend who is a Sparty fan. I haven't even talked to him about this because I'm honestly worried he might say something that pisses me off.
