The block numbers are blah to me. The numbers they were wearing the past few years look much better. The best thing about the black uniforms are the new alternate helmets. Those were the best thing about the new reveal.
He is supremely optimistic but I don’t think he has the sources or inside knowledge of other Michigan writers. He basicallly got dunked on by Sam(who works for 247 also) in a matter of hours. He made it seem like Wolf would be committing right after his visit and that still has not happened yet.
Ppl have this misconstrued! The Tennesseee AD didn’t do anything…it was the the lawmakers of the state that threatened the NCAA with lawsuits. Unfortunately here, there are Sparties in the state legislature and they wouldn’t go along with suing the NCAA on Michigan’s behalf
…and we just won a national championship with a coach who had a DUI years ago too! No one is praising his behavior, but calling someone a “dumbfuck” who you don’t know is probably the reason you’re getting negged.
Colorado doesn’t have a crazy NIL budget. Deion is old school like Jim was. Players that achieved at the highest level are kind of against paying players crazy money just to come. I think they feel that they had to earn it so players coming up today should do the same.
At the Chipotle Nationals…his shot was falling from the outside(small sample size). Announcers were saying he worked on his shot and it has improved. I’m not saying he would be ready for the NBA next year…just that he has the tools and physical traits that make him attractive to NBA teams in the future.
He can go! Can handle on the wing and attack close outs effectively in the games I watched him play. If he’s here next season…he’d be the best NBA prospect on the roster.
The UMHoops forum is less than enthused about this news. However, I think we have saw some players struggle out the gate and become servicable over time. Plus we had 9 scholarships to give out.
I HIGHLY doubt Evans is looking for a “bag” in the portal. Plus she’s from Australia so I don’t think she’s even eligible for NIL dollars. Players are departing at a rapid rate! Either KBA has an ace up her sleeve or things may be rough next season.
Iowa was elevated by Clark and they had a very veteran core group. They will likely not reach these heights again for a while. Most of South Carolina’s roster is intact besides Cordosa so I don’t know if that’s the destination. LSU might be the move with Van Lith leaving. Her and Flau’jae would make a pretty formidable backcourt
It’s just a way to schedule properly. You play your division a certain amount of time then the teams in your conference and then teams outside your conference a specific amount.
Why not? Most kids were going to Kentucky because of Cal. He’s the guy that gets the players. Fayetteville & Lexington aren’t that much different from each other.
This is the goofiest take to me that this board has going…if Cooper Flagg & Dylan Harper(top 2 players in the 2024 class and likely the top 2 picks in the 2025 NBA draft want to come to Michigan, you’d be a fool not to take them! I remember a highly rated recruiting class helped Michigan get to a national championship game about a decade ago
I think the biggest thing ppl are forgetting is that yes Goldin & Davis have that direct tie to their coach and Michigan. But the blue bloods might also be in contact. Will they want that personal connection with their coach(🤞🏾) or opt for instance a UNC(👎🏾) to improve their chances of winning next season.
All that talk about parity…power conferences will have 14 of 16(Gonzaga & SDSU the other two teams are 2 of the top programs out west on top of that) slots for the next round.
SVG with a great point…coaches will bench a player with 2 fouls with 1 minute left before halftime but will magically bring him back with 20 minutes left in the 2nd half as if there is a huge difference.
No international students can receive NIL due to their student visa status. If I recall correctly Edey got his money through a loophole because Purdue scheduled a game in Canada so he could receive his funds that way. Same with Oscar when we played Kentucky in London last year.
The squad he has on the floor gets dumped trucked by UConn on Sunday…hard pass! Want a coach that can compete for titles not a coach that finishes middle of the pack in the B1G.
Getting Freshman in here is not usually a problem. Most of the kids Cal recruits are pretty good students. Anthony Davis, Karl Anthony Towns, Devin Booker & Reed Sheppard are far from problem kids.
We were just in the Elite 8…we had an awful year. Let’s not make it like this is the Northwestern job. You can get talent here. We don’t need a “try hard” guy. Get the best coach available.
I just think Michigan can do better, the guy has only won his conference once(never in the Mountain West). Brian mentioned him and folks on this blog gravitated to him even though he seems pretty mid to me. Michigan can do much better in their search
I think you’re selling the job wayyyyyy short. There are similar programs(Purdue is one) who have similar restrictions and are flourishing. Juwan didn’t do a great job at the end, a better coach could have this thing humming very shortly.

He was on the hot seat and 1 more bad season and he was out of there! This is a “CYA” move.
The kid is at Oak Hill and plays against great competition, he’ll be fine at the next level. His progression was awesome over the past few years.
