State fans losing it after the four additional suspensions

Lil bro on and off the field.

I heard Valenti and one of his sidekicks asking when Michigan is going to start their investigation. Into what I have no idea.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:09 PM ^
Valenti and his ilk own some of this, they've flown cover for so long that it has become embedded in their souls.
At Illinois next week with no starting edge rushers. Enjoy.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:47 PM ^
Valenti's just bitter he's still stuck carrying water for Michigan St. He wanted to come home so bad. When Mike Francesa retired a couple years ago at WFAN in NY they brought a handful of people in and mixed and matched up the pairings throughout the day to audition them. Valenti was one of them. I had never heard of him before so I had no prior prejudices against him. He just came off so arrogant and douchy. Had no reverence for the WFAN vets he was paired with and acted like he was the dominant one. He was the outsider and there was just nothing humble about him. I don't think he made it out of the first round.
November 1st, 2022 at 11:19 PM ^
Man what a gem!! Thanks for sharing. It's hilarious how stupid and arrogant he is at the same time. He's almost always wrong and yet carries himself like he's a greek God. Only here, surrounded by even bigger idiots can his schtick ever work.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:56 PM ^
You can still get Illinois -16 if you’re so inclined. ML at -670 looks good as a parlay add on.
November 2nd, 2022 at 8:13 AM ^
Totally agree, Valenti now acts like how could something like this happen when he is a big part of the reason with the hatred he spews against U of M on a daily basis. Both him and Rico constantly stoke the fire of the minions that follow them.
November 2nd, 2022 at 9:20 AM ^
"Back in the day" Valenti was D'Antonio's biggest cheerleader. He would consistently state that he didn't care about anything but winning. Winning at any costs, he was the major media outlet that rallied the fanbase to feed off an enraged hatred against Michigan.
And as a Blow Hard radio host, he was able to always manipulate the calls any way he wanted. If you were foolish enough to call in and provide any valid point against his spew, he would simply hang up on you and twist the statement to whatever narrative he was pushing.
Given there is a 7 second delay between talking to them on the phone and what actually gets broadcasted, it was very easy for him to censor anything that he didn't want on the air.
Liberated myself from that moron over 10 years ago......

The tunnel that caused Sparty players to commit felonies.
/s (in case it’s needed)
November 1st, 2022 at 7:18 PM ^
Poor Lloyd Carr. Ever since the tunnel was named after him, it’s seen more drama than it has in its 95 year history.
November 1st, 2022 at 8:37 PM ^
I’m sure this isn’t it, but you almost wonder if the tunnel is suddenly an issue in part because it is something M thinks is special enough to endow a legacy. Like other teams just can’t help themselves but fixate negatively on something Michigan holds in esteem.
November 1st, 2022 at 10:58 PM ^
I had the same thought. I know some people inside the fanbase hold some grudges against Lloyd, but c'mon -- is there a classier ex-coach? It pains me to see these incidents happen in his namesake.
November 2nd, 2022 at 5:51 AM ^
omg fuck that guy. torched the program on the way out because his first two choices, kirk ferenz and bo pellini, were ignored. THey guy doesn't even root for Michigan anymore. Walks around Dexter like he owns it. Fuck him.
November 2nd, 2022 at 8:01 AM ^
you forgot the /s.
November 2nd, 2022 at 10:18 AM ^
Was Lloyd ever even pushing for Ferentz and Pellini? I thought it was Ron English or DeBord?
November 2nd, 2022 at 11:22 AM ^
Yeah but can we still get Ferentz's kid?
November 1st, 2022 at 7:18 PM ^
Spartys gone in and out of that tunnel, what? 45 times throughout history. All of a sudden the tunnel made me do it?
November 1st, 2022 at 7:58 PM ^
60 times since Michigan Stadium opened in 1927. Until MSU joined the B1G and for several years beyond the game was almost always played in A2 because Regents Field, Ferry Field and Michigan Stadium in their turn had much more seating than College Field, Macklin Field/Spartan Stadium respectively.
November 2nd, 2022 at 8:05 AM ^
And they bitch about that as well, "scUM forced us to play in the Big Hole for the first 30 years of the rivalry."
No Spartard, your AD wanted half the gate from a sold-out Michigan Stadium to fund the MSU Athletic Department for another year.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:37 PM ^
Taylor Lewan said it best after the penn state throttling. He said that Michigan is on the rise and some people are happy about it and some people are really mad about it.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:44 PM ^
I'd be happy if his name was never mentioned in this forum again.
November 1st, 2022 at 8:11 PM ^
And some of us would be happy if a certain hall were renamed and statue removed. Currently we're stuck with what we have.
November 1st, 2022 at 8:03 PM ^
This is exactly it. They were so certain that Harbaugh was a failure. It was their entire shtick for 5 years. Now they see the programs going in different directions and they’re losing their shit.
November 1st, 2022 at 10:55 PM ^
The older ones remember what it was like outright fearing Michigan. Bo, Mo, Lloyd winning with cruelty most of the time. Dominant teams, hall of fame players, bullying.
The younger ones know the stories and fear a return to the Sparty of their parents and grandparents time when they might win once in a while (Sparty Bob, clock gate etc.).
They pinned their hopes to a failed NFL DC (you can't say Mel Tucker's name in Chicago) who was really good on Instagram. They ran off an unethical miscreant who more wholly represented their values.
November 2nd, 2022 at 6:53 AM ^
You don’t really know misery unless you endured the Duffy Daugherty era.
November 2nd, 2022 at 8:08 AM ^
Expound upon this please, I didn't start understanding this Michigan/MSU dynamic until the Muddy Waters fiasco. Duffy was before my time.
November 2nd, 2022 at 9:40 AM ^
Two of the three coaches for my son's travel baseball team are huge Sparty fans (both alums) and have spent the past few years rubbing in my face gloating that JH can stay as long as he wants to. They would even say that they would hope and pray that JH stays for a long time.
This Sunday is the first day of practice, I am divided on whether I should pat them on the back and simply say, "Yay, your right. I certainly hope that JH stays for a long time..... A very long time. And better yet, it would certainly appear that #TuckComing is going to be sticking around here for awhile as well. This is good, very good...."
I am actually think Tucker is trying to do the right thing in terms of handling a team with class, dignity, and establish a respectable culture. But he is finding out that Sparty's culture is so deeply rooted in hatred and inferiority that it is a lost cause.
Dantonio would say similar crap but everyone knew that he was flat out lying to the press and said Sparty media would push that propaganda BS so that the outside world would buy it.
This will be interesting to see how this plays out. I believe that this will continue to fall further apart and Sparty will eventually eat Tucker's contract and fire him. The problem is there is such a small subset of coaches available that meet both important criteria to be a Sparty coach...
1) A dark soul that hates Michigan with every fiber...
2) Have some level of understanding of what it takes to be a good coach.
So the question is, what coach with any sense of reason would touch this toxic program?
November 2nd, 2022 at 3:38 AM ^
Penn State and Michigan State have been at their peak in the past 10ish years. They are both unable to accept Michigan at 8-0 (and it not being a fluke). They fear the prospect of recruiting and playing against two top ten teams. OSU was a slow rise, boiled frog, fate...this Michigan rise is something they cannot fathom and it is regressing them into adolescent punks. These insane verbal threats, 10 people in a circle taunting + beat-downs, and throwing their PB&J's are absolutely juvenile. This isn't about the tunnel. It's denial. They are coping with a loss and poorly at that.
November 2nd, 2022 at 9:23 AM ^
Not a fan of PSU or Janklin, but Clifford and a bunch of their guys seem like decent people. I don’t think we can lump them in with Sparty when it comes to being completely unhinged.
November 2nd, 2022 at 10:38 AM ^
Have the same perception about their players. Don't feel the same about their fanbase.
November 1st, 2022 at 8:37 PM ^
I heard this today too and said incredulously to myself while in traffic, “for f’ing what?!” And then immediately changed the station. I had no interest in understanding the mental gymnastics that got them there, so bizarre.
edit - his sidekick is Rico Beard btw, the same hack Brian mentioned in his game diary that retweeted some other hack basically blaming Michigan players for being in the tunnel and that they had what was coming for messing with the Spartan “Dawgs”. He’s terrible and offers no value to anything ever.
November 2nd, 2022 at 8:29 AM ^
This was actually one of the younger idiots behind the glass that said it first. I think the one that claims to be a Michigan fan but rips and trolls everything they do.
November 2nd, 2022 at 9:27 AM ^
This should be the point at which people just stop listening to that show. Give them zero Michigan listeners and let the station know it’s not ok to fabricate “facts” just to stoke hatred for Michigan. Let the station decide if they want a show with half of its prior ratings.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:07 PM ^
If our MSU preview is accurate, they just lost 4 starters on defense for the Illinois game.
3-6 incoming. Of course I'd rather have had zero violent crimes committed so our players had no concussions or broken noses.
November 1st, 2022 at 10:09 PM ^
By the end of the season, they'll have between 3-9 reasons to tell Mel he ain't comin'.
The old joke returns.
November 2nd, 2022 at 2:16 AM ^
Not sure if losing starters makes much difference to their final record.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:07 PM ^
Music to my ears. Love me some scorched-earth RCMB.
November 1st, 2022 at 9:04 PM ^
Indeed, but great googly moogly has that place taken a weird turn after Saturday (and it was weird to begin with). I get that fan bases can get kind of intense and there’s a certain degree of tribalism involved, but that place has gone full tin foil hat. Like, full on cult status. This sounds like hyperbole, it is not. Literally, everything that doesn’t align with their little bro worldview is immediately dismissed out of hand and seen as further proof of the Michigan Illuminati influence.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:10 PM ^
Look, a 3-9/4-8 finish (perhaps 1-8 n B10) now has something other than the ten other things wrong with this team to take the blame. As ye sow …
November 1st, 2022 at 8:57 PM ^
Now you're thinking with that loser mentality. It will be as if this season would have been some sort of success if it weren't for those bullshit suspensions and the blue wall or some shit.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:10 PM ^
There is not one reasonable, thoughtful, or even semi-intelligent take in that septic tank. It's all Harbaugh's fault, the players got what was coming to them, they must have instigated it, it's Michigan's fault for lack of security... Hey--you can punch someone in the face in the lobby of a police station. Last I checked, those tend to be secure. This has happened exactly ONCE in Michigan Stadium's career. Once. This is not a stadium or tunnel problem; it's a Spartan problem. And no, Michigan and OSU/PSU woofing at each other in the tunnel is not the same thing.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:59 PM ^
Not to mention that Spartan Stadium has - yep - only one tunnel.
November 1st, 2022 at 8:23 PM ^
So does ND Stadium. A lot of these older stadiums have one tunnel. I guess what makes ours different is that you have to cross the visiting sideline to enter/exit. But since the torch and pitchfork crowd isn't focused on that, it's a non-issue.
November 1st, 2022 at 8:39 PM ^
ND has two tunnels now after renovations
November 1st, 2022 at 8:59 PM ^
So does your mom.
(Sorry. Completely undeserved. I saw the shot and took it)
November 1st, 2022 at 9:54 PM ^
Both your sophomoric joke and your immediate keyboard regret made me laugh. You’re good. Thank god the internet didn’t exist when I was younger.

I regret that I have only one upvote to give you for this.
