Yes this deserves a thread - RCMB totally unhinged, seething, waling right now.

971 state fan callers losing their minds on the air.

the four additional suspensions has pushed them over the edge, they are despondent right now

I mean, it's a vocal minority, but it ain't just idiots being idiots on the internet either. You hear a lot of of it from their pundits and fans on the radio too. I've also heard more whataboutism and subtle victim blaming in the last three days than I care to mention even from the "reasonable" fans.

Agreed - most Spartan fans I personally know have responded reasonably, but not all. I’ve had two different friends (who are normally reasonable people) try to victim blame, make excuses, etc. I suspect they were just influenced by the trash elements of the Sparty media (Comparoni, valenti, beard) but I don’t care. They both got an earful from me because this isn’t a proper subject for the usual good-natured shit talk.

Blue Metal,

I get it. My annual Halloween visit with my childhood best friends was about 5 minutes long yesterday. When MSU wins the game, they post up on my porch for over an hour and want to talk all about my thoughts on the game and Harbaugh. After last years game they were walking memes of “Tuck Coming” and of course thinking CFP after their big win. This year…in the brief few minutes I got to see them all they wanted to talk about was family: their aging parents and their kids. No sports talk dared be mentioned.

I know they are better people than Valenti, Comp, & RCMB but I also think they are as tribal as anyone and are doing mental gymnastics trying to process how this could be Harbaugh’s fault before opening their mouths. They would fear my response unless they can really get themselves to fully believe.

Most Sparty fans are embarrassed but echo the "the 2 UM players should have never been in the tunnel" - WTF? Can't you walk down any street without being harassed or at least getting the police to support you.

The additional chumps were the cops who did nothing (watched an assault) and the MSU FB director who ran AWAY from a mess.

This is my biggest fear as well.  I stated in this thread that my son's travel baseball coaches (2 of them) and HUGE Sparty alums/fan.  Gloating about wanting Harbaugh to stay as long as he wants to.

I see them this Sunday, I'm pretty sure I won't say anything because I will not like what they will respond with and that would set me off.  Better to remain quite and take the high road

The RCMB really is a scary place.  Social media in general is awful and brings out the worst in people, but that echo chamber is especially toxic.  It’s legitimately disturbing to think that group of folks are the same people who live in my neighborhood and are out and about in my community.

Even M.L. Elrick, the Pulitzer-winning local reporter and Sparty fan, went on the air and said anyone who talks smack during a game deserves to get smacked. He basically said the 2 Michigan players had it coming. This is one of the best known reporters in town -- a guy who ran for office -- downplaying the assaults and saying the victims deserved like some Qanon yahoo. It's guys like him who explain why lunatics are now physically attacking political opponents with hammers. He's also acting exactly like the stereotype of a Sparty -- inferiority complex, thuggish, Joe Pesci.

M.L. Elrick’s entire family are MSU alums. I just listened to his podcast. I can’t believe he said he would literally punch anyone who chirps “little brother” at him. He was not kidding. A journalist I considered reasonable and astute reveals himself to be an unhinged wacko because of a college athletic rivalry.

I can't go there because those people are just too far off for me.  I used to chuckle when I would read some of their comments but the filthy ones started to outweigh the funny ones.

After watching Mel's antics on the sideline Saturday night coupled with all the wood shed, deep water, keep chopping, tuck comin, tough-guy-picture bull shit...how in the actual fuck can those people not recognize there is a problem?  The fish starts stinking from the head and they should be embarrassed for not being embarrassed for supporting such a shit hole football program.

"Following the 29-7 loss at Michigan on Saturday, Windmon and safety Xavier Henderson were seated together for a postgame press conference. In a question posed to both, they were asked if they saw what happened in the tunnel. Henderson said he didn’t while Windmon didn’t respond."

I wonder why he didn't respond.

"In a joint statement from athletics director Alan Haller and coach Mel Tucker, the Spartans suspended senior Jacoby Windmon, senior Brandon Wright, junior Justin White and freshman Malcolm Jones for their roles in the altercation."

Again, what power 5 program is shameless enough to act like this on the field or in the stands? Is UCLA doing this? Oklahoma State? Georgia? UNC? West Virginia? Etc. Its MSU and maybe Miami. The whole culture of their athletics is toxic

At least MSUs leadership is taking It seriously so far

"At least MSUs leadership is taking It seriously so far."

They "have" to show leadership for obvious reasons, otherwise the entire country would see them as a joke. Something the locals already know.

Just when they thought they were over the Nasser issue(s), a different problem occurs to show their culture.

Spartans will...

...cover it up

...ignore others

...take little responsibility

...blame others

I know Warren's kid goes to MSU. But logic still dictates that the B10 is gonna throw the book at Sparty and hang them out to dry. This looks really bad for the league's image, which has already been tarnished by all the pedo-ish scandals. They need to make an example out of someone, and Sparty is the perfect example. It's not a big brand. It's B-list all the way. Who cares if they get kicked to the curb? Nobody. Just wait.

Oh no-not so fast on the MSU "leadership". Ben Mathers, Director of MSU Football Operations is sweating huge bullets right now. Because in the two upcoming civil suits he will be a major target and both Green and McBurrows will likely receive in excess of 5 million from gutless, characterless Ben. "Tuck comin" will be coming right behind him in this regard.

Blaming the tunnel at Michigan Stadium for what happened Saturday night is like blaming doors for the mass shooting at the elementary school in Uvalde.

The only frustrating thing (to me) is they will now shorthand this season as the one where Michigan State was wrongfully forced to bench players because of a fight, as opposed to the season that showed Mel Tucker is a total garbage snake oil salesman. Let those players play - they can keep losing on the field as far as I'm concerned, and deal with their court cases on off days.
