I am glad UM is a football school. I would gladly take the title in football and last place in basketball every year. Keep Juwan, use all the BB NIL for football and only bring in basketball players that are only here to weight lift in preparation for joining the football team, make use of that scholarship.

Well, if true this seals the "fire Ward" deal for me. This is the arrogance of UM, yes the school is bigger than one man, but only one coach can take 3-4 star talent and coach them to defeat 4-5 star talent 3 years in a row. A couple years ago the Braintrust on this site said we should settle for 9-10 win seasons. Time to prepare for it yet again. While OSU is spending $15 million plus on their players, the people in charge of negotiating JH contract thought they were negotiators and were going to do what? My theory is, if you play college for the money only, you are not going to be as passionate or play as tuff (want to run into the LB etc) play in snow, etc... and it proved accurate I believe w CJ. I hope the way UM is approaching NIL proves to be the right approach, pay the "players" let the prima donna's go elsewhere and get their $2.5 million dollar plus deals and play soft for themselves and not the team.

This TCU game had some of that game, some of the "trouble with the snap" type of "this never happens" stuff, two pick sixes??? trick play at the 2, me yelling at the TV on that one. I wasn't even recovered from that when the first pick six happened, then the bad call and I knew they would fumble (yelling at the TV again ""QB sneak don't hand off!!"") I didn't return to any sort of normal until late in the third quarter 41-38.
My summary, this was the best Michigan team in many, many years, and one of the worst games in terms of vodoo type shit in forever as well. Unless Georgia kills TCU by 21 or more like we should have (4 tds plus or minus in that game) then we would have probably beaten Georgia as well in the final. Georgis the team that barely beat OSU, in Georgia.

Watching UM v TCU, why run a trick play? Then by the time I calmed down, the worst call ever. I knew they were going to fumble on the half yard line of course after a bad call, the call should have QB sneak not a handoff under center. Told my son that was gonna happen before it happened. This team should have beat TCU by 21 and should have won this Monday. Funny thing happened on the way to the Championship, they didn't do what they did all year.
Good point but pretty sure Broncos fans are no different. What frustrates JH current fan base is he isn’t really saying he’s not going can't blame fans given the impact last year and this on recruiting and team retention. If JH was committed to staying you would think he would come out this week and definitively state he UMs coach this year with zero caveats like he did last time he was asked.

Watched the Texas game. Texas was at home, 6-3 at the time one of the losses to Alabama close. Texas QB Ewers was not good, and receivers dropped 3-4 balls in the first half. Texas O had no rythym the entire game. TCU defense has a couple players on the line who look good 98 on the edge is strong and fast, Tomlinson the DB makes plays. The LBS are big 240-250lbs and look like old time Iowa LBs. Their base is 3-3-5, the LBS seem to all crash down straight ahead a lot,I think our offense can play action that and kill them with the TEs mid range passing and run game.
Texas D looked pretty strong on the line couple 340lb NGs they did a great job pushing a weaker O line of TCU I think they had 3-4 sacks early on and swarmed Duggan. Duggan didn't seem to scary on escaping, he did have a couple designed runs that went well. TCU hit a Donovan Edwards type long run with everyone up. Watch the TCU kicker he likes to flop, got one or two big calls. Texas looked average and played poor and it was a close game anyway. Overall wasn't really impressed with TCU in that game.
I think Michigan overwhelms them by playing controlled and strong on the lines. I see this similar to PSU game, except maybe they hit an extra score with their tall WR Johnson UM 41-24

There is something fundamentally wrong w an athletic department that has revenues of $210,000,000 and expenses of $202,000,000. Title 9 in my opinion is flawed as well, I think things will get way worse for the AD before NIL gets figured out in a way that is competitive. I don’t have a lot of confidence in bureaucratic regimes to figure common sense stuff out, hope we don’t lose JH over having his hands tied behind his back next 2-3 years. Football should be separate budget all its own.
I’d like to see UM NIL be for all starters basically like a salary. Like a team concept maybe the star players get a bonus but all get paid for getting and doing that job. Seems consistent w the type of young men JH seems to covet and do well for the team. Solid recruits may not get the car right off the bat but if they are confident and team players will play on a perennial CFP team, get a great diploma and will make 6 figures when starting
I picked up my dad in Lansing to bring to my home in San Diego, I almost jumped out of the train at somepoint! Bumping knees while eating off a little table, swinging side to side banging head on side of train while "sleeping", memories! I did stop a couple hours short of LA and had wife drive to pick us up. Some people love trains!
Got my son the aerial photo online of The Game 42-27 framed for his wall. He is 23, just got out of the USMC, promised him we would travel from SoCal to see a game one day when he was younger, but given the lack of confidence, we never went. Decided earlier this season, maybe, maybe. My wife got us both tickets for early Christmas and we gathered winter gear that we seriously lacked and traveled to AA. It was awesome. My son's comments before, during and after "second best experience of my life, second only to becoming a Marine".

I get this distracts us from high inflation, high gas prices, rising taxes, flood at the border, etc... but come on man, let's make decisions by following the science. Good questions. Not an expert, my wife works in a hospital, cases are up a little from barely existent, and no one is dying, this variation is less lethal and I believe we should treat it as such. By all means now follow the science.
