Miami trending to flip another top rated osu recruit. RB Jordan Lyle

Wiltfong recently changed his crystal balls from osu to Miami (ytm). That’s a pretty big loss. Not like they don’t have other backs in the class but you hate to see it happen.

as an aside, who is funding Miami?

I'm convinced Cristobal will get Miami to an annual 10-2/9-3 team just like the Oregon fans kept saying.

Good enough that the talent will win him games, but the coaching will prevent them from ever being great.

The thing is now, 10-2 is a CFP team. 9-3 might even sneak in as a 11 or 12 seed.

The ACC is weak. Drake Maye is leaving UNC, Elko has left Duke and Clemson is sliding.

There is an easy opportunity to get 9 wins if you're Miami and have more talent than everyone else.

It's just like how I don't care how many players OSU loses to the NFL or the fact that ol Third Base can't develop talent. They're not going to be worse than 9-3 in the B1G.

Miami won 5 in Year 1, 7 this year... I'll bet they get to 9 and that is just about the ceiling.

Hey, I didn't say he would keep his job.

I just said with the talent they have, 9-3 is their floor unless there is some kind of scandal something that knocks them back to earth recruiting wise.

Pre-Urbz, their floor wasn't nearly that high. A poorly coached OSU team could go 6-6.

But if you're always finishing in the top 3 in the recruiting rankings...that's a 9 win team.

Miami doesn't have to finish top 3 in the recruiting rankings because the ACC isn't as strong as a conference. But there is no reason Cristobal can't get that thing to "lose one non-conference game, lose to Clemson, lose to FSU" levels of 9-3.

Although Cristobal is more likely to beat one of those 3 teams and lose to Georgia Tech because he refuses to take a knee. And that's his 9-3.

If OSU does not have a good QB, I can see them 4 or 5 games if they lose against all potential good teams. In any given year, UM, PSU, Washington, Oregon and USC will not be a cakewalk. Heck Wisconsin or even MSU can knock them off. Given, they won't play all of those teams every year but I don't think 3 is the floor for them any longer.

If this is real, the fact that Ohio State is such a target for players at their high end is an indictment in itself.

I mean we know they are a program of mercenaries, but the younguns don't always see that.

I live in FL.  Lots of Canes fans still around.  They're not even arrogant anymore.  I take great enjoyment in Miami being a mediocre football team, but you just sort of feel sorry for their fans now.  Just look at how they lost to Georgia Tech - LOL.

I also don't think they will ever be relevant again.  They play their games at Hard Rock that is quite a drive from campus.  It's a sterile environment with a shit ton of empty seats for their games.  Miami can't offer the college experience that their competition can.

Agreed. Wife and I were in Miami on vacation, and saw Miami vs Clemson was playing in town with really cheap lower bowl seats. Why not go?

Result:  Big stadium with mostly empty upper deck, tons of loud pipped in noise and RAWK, and aside from the crazy overtime, the football was pretty wretched. Nice to have seen it, but it so pales by comparison to most game day experiences. They did seem to know how to tailgate in the 305, however. Dale.

Just putting the thought out there into the world so bucknuts can fume & fret is really a win already, no matter what occurs in the end.

There's 2 ways bucknuts can hate "Air" -

1. He bolts for more $ elsewhere  -or-

2. He sticks with osu but doesn't beat Michigan

Whereas there's only 1 path to them loving him...
