Miami trending to flip another top rated osu recruit. RB Jordan Lyle

Wiltfong recently changed his crystal balls from osu to Miami (ytm). That’s a pretty big loss. Not like they don’t have other backs in the class but you hate to see it happen.

as an aside, who is funding Miami?

While we want to LOL, let's hope there's no flipping until Jordan Marshall signs his LOI.

As long as NIL is unregulated, it will be hard to pull those south Florida 4-5 star guys. It will be interesting to see what happens to their program if they have to adopt more of a Midwest recruiting strategy. 9 of their 22 verbal commits are from SEC states.

Boy, would it be fun to see OSU's recruiting class completely implode come early signing day.

We can all visualize Ryan's reaction when he learns all of his top recruits bolt to sign for other programs

Miami seems to have its little cart before the horse. It should be dedicating more effort to establishing a coaching staff before ruining the careers of good, unsuspecting recruits.

One does hate seeing OSU being endangered by a swirling toilet bowl. It surely is amusing to see them claiming to have a strong culture-which they do seem to have-just not  good one.

All indications are that Day is struggling here. He's a great recruiter, and OC, but is otherwise in over his head as an HC.

"Almost" is just another L. Just like every other team Michigan played this year, they never led in the second half-even worse, they never led in the game.

Day, with all the football resources at his disposal, is an average HC. He does not have the demeanor nor, evidently, the ability to assemble a staff of assistants that are good enough.

Miami has no college atmosphere, has been mediocre over the last two decades, has had funding issues and they still pump money into their program.

But they understand that having a relevant program is good for business.

I think Seth has always said... "if your main draw is money, there will always be someone who offers more." MSU found this out and now OSU is finding out.  This is why I prefer Michigan's method of recruiting/NIL. It weeds out all the guys who are just about getting paid and brings in guys who actually want to learn, grow, and win. Michigan offers so much more than just $$$, and the smart, driven recruits will see or have seen that. Thus why we've done so well in the portal, by their 2nd or 3rd year these kids realize that if they want long-term, generational money from the NFL, they need to go where they develop. $1 million as an 18-year-old is great, but also fleeting, 80 million as a 25-year-old changes everything.

I can see Ryan Day to NFL. His record is sparkling and his offense are terrific. Even against Michigan they produce.

The Chargers could see him as a splash hire who wouldn’t be as expensive or hard to get along with as Harbaugh.

Ryan Day was a missed FG from winning the NC in '22.

If you want to say he "choked" in that game, you could argue that after shredding Uga's vaunted D for most of 4 quarters, when he got the ball into Georgia territory with under a minute to go (and no MHJr available) he settled for too long a FG attempt rather than be a little more aggressive trying to get a few more yards.

I'm sure even a level-headed bucknut would agree with that- if you can find one!

But to accuse him of "choking" after the performance Michigan put on vs tcu is kinda ripe!

Miami remains a great example of how money can't buy you a winner.  It's been years of them just handing bags of cash to recruits both above and below board and they've got 1 ten-win season over 20 years to show for it.  Just an amazing waste of dubious booster money.

I’m not u understanding the allure to go play at Miami. They haven’t done anything in a long time. The fact the best team in the ACC got left out of thenplayoff what would make these kids want to play in that conference? I get NIL but if it’s about money you would choose to play in the B1G or the SEC the starters and players that go to the Michigan’s, Ohio St’s, Alabama, LSU, Penn St’s and USC, are going to be making money.

Whatever hurts OSU, I’m all for. But as for this kid, have fun playing in front of 7,000 people and topping out at 9-3 in a mediocre ACC.

Someone else here said it, but Miami is a perfect example of how all the money in the world, all the beautiful weather, all the attractive co-eds, all the allure of “that Miami life” and yacht parties with gorgeous women and flowing booze, all of that can’t buy you a winner.

Miami has been throwing boatloads of cash at recruits for years, and since their last title at the turn of the century, they have absolutely nothing to show for it. They’ve just been living off of “The U” legacy ever since.

OSU's OL and DL classes for the last two cycles seems pretty weak. If they don't get some of their guys to run it back they could be in real trouble.
