How are decisions he makes…

How are decisions he makes on NIL for the sports programs best for the school?  The money wouldn't be coming from the University, it would be coming from outside sources.  Even if Michigan used NIL the same way other programs do they would still have to recruit high academic student athletes to pass admissions which has always been the Michigan way.

Michigan's NIL doesn't work…

Michigan's NIL doesn't work that way, though.

As critical as I have been…

As critical as I have been of Warde, this was a homerun hire on his part.  I can see Michigan being a Sweet 16 team in 3 years.

According to BlueByNinety he…

According to BlueByNinety he is off the table for Michigan and is headed to Louisville.  Once again Michigan is working on the slow pace.

BASKETBALL

"Dusty May to Louisville is ‘done deal’, taking him off the board for Michigan basketball"

If they don't pick up some…

If they don't pick up some receivers in the portal, and I mean good talented receivers, then the depth at that position will be scary in a bad way.  I get Michigan is a run first team, but to only have 2-3 experienced receivers and 2 freshman along with an unproven quarterback is really going to hamper scoring this year.  Hopefully the running backs can prove to be the best in the country, and the defense can score a lot, if not, then it will be a long season.

I still believe he is a…

I still believe he is a great candidate, and the best option for Michigan.  He has done a lot with less resources, while at Michigan he could do more because there are more resources.  The only obstacle I can see him having at Michigan is NIL.  I am definitely no expert, but if Warde can take his hard-hat off his head and play in the same field of NIL as others, or even play close enough to them, then I believe Dusty May would be very, very successful at Michigan.

Hopefully Moore can get…

Hopefully Moore can get Terrance Jamison because of his resume.  It could also solidify a commitment from DL Jaylen Williams who is from IL.

Iowa did it wrong.  They…

Iowa did it wrong.  They gave him the money first while other teams wait until he is atleast on the field.  Still...Proctor seems like a perfect definition of a non-team player and is all about himself.  He is already a good fit for the NFL.

I didn't know an 18 year old…

I didn't know an 18 year old Justin Timberlake was playing for Michigan basketball.

He really listens to his critics, doesn't he?!

Gallon was good at Michigan,…

Gallon was good at Michigan, but I hope Morgan is better because of the lack of depth at that position.  I also hope Morris and English are better than Gallon.

He looks like he can still…

He looks like he can still play like a bruising 1990s-style running back.

Great!  Now, what is the…

Great!  Now, what is the news on Michigan's coaching search?

Moore just can't catch any…

Moore just can't catch any breaks.  The defense is suppose to be the weight carriers for this team next year, but the defensive staff makeover and now this are making it difficult to unite any the staff and players together.  Hopefully, just like last year, the players will work together and eliminate all of the off-field messes.

Recruiting doesn't have to…

Recruiting doesn't have to be illegal to be "worse", especially when Warde is not allowing Michigan's two biggest sports programs to play on the same level of NIL playing field.

The reasons why Beilin left…

The reasons why Beilin left in the first place have only gotten worse.  If this was 2015, then I would be solid in believing Beilin would want to come back and excel, but unfortunately the portal and NIL would make it difficult for excellent coaches in recruiting and development to succeed now.

"Nobody knows anything" is…

"Nobody knows anything" is like the norm with the Athletic Department.

If this is true, then it…

If this is true, then it could explain why Michigan caved into the B1G regarding Harbaugh's second suspension, however; unless Santa is completely overwhelmed with his role at Michigan, then he would have fired Warde for the mess under his "leadership" by now.

My personal opinion is that this is a bunch of b.s. from an OSU alum targeting the three biggest sports programs at Michigan.

Howard has gotten…

Howard has gotten commitments from 12 of the top 25 highest ranked high school basketball players that have committed to Michigan since 2000, but has done nothing with that talent, so I don't see Brooks being elite at Michigan if coached under Howard.

For the sake of the program and his health, hopefully he finds something less heavy on the shoulders after this season.

Cobra Commander, because he…

Cobra Commander, because he put together strategies in his gameplan like Harbaugh did, while Serpentor tried using brute strength in his like Day does with talent.

Watched GiJoe the 1980s…

Watched GiJoe the 1980s cartoon on Tubi instead of the Michigan basketball game.

I am on this belief as well,…

I am on this belief as well, and I believe Denegal could play well enough to be the starter all season.  I think Michigan will lose 3 games this coming up season, but dmDenegal will get the experience to be a valuable starter in 2025.

Kevin Crooks' talking points…

Kevin Crooks' talking points are spot-on of my belief.  I have volunteered with wolf research projects in a few different regions, and my gut feeling from experience is that the disagreement is not about wolves, it's about one side telling the other what they can and cannot do, and the other side sees wolves as an image of the side they don't want pushing them around.

Here in the Midwest you see more acceptance of wolves from the far majority because there was no mankind made reintroduction.  Even in the Northern Rocky Mountains and Pacific Northwest the majority are in favor of wolves, but the minority who are not have a lot of power to persuade the local politicians, especially since many of the local politicians are part of the same stakeholder groups.

"He also said other studies have also shown wolves can affect the behavior of big game. In some circumstances, wolves might make hunting a bit harder by moving the elk or deer around more. Still, Crooks believes overall that robust hunting opportunities for humans can coexist with wolves."

Yellowstone and Isle Royale are perfect examples of behavioral changes.  It has been a major part of vegetation growth in areas of Yellowstone, and most of Isle Royale that were overgrazed by moose.  Thank you for providing the source.  It was a very good read.

He lived around the block…

He lived around the block from me when I was in my early teens.  His wife was a very sweet woman who loved to garden.

R-Truth does stuff like that…

R-Truth does stuff like that now in the WWE.  His character is all entertainment at events, but outside of the ring.

The Attitude Era was filled…

The Attitude Era was filled with superstar wrestlers.  WWF and WCW were crawling with talent, and the scripts were creative.  Nowadays, everything is overdone and a cliche.

People loved Trish Stratus, but Velvet Sky will always be the hottest female wrestler to me.

The news media overblows the…

The news media overblows the livestock problem due to wolves.

Wolves move around long…

Wolves move around long distances into areas where there are natural resources and very little people, so I wouldn't be surprised if the population in Colorado increased down the line, but who really knows.  Wyoming has made it very difficult for wolves to take territory in Colorado due to their wolf management laws (anyone can shoot a wolf at anytime with or without a permit in the southern part of the state).

I have always believed that…

I have always believed that the hostility towards wolves by some people doesn't directly reflect on the species, but more on politics.  If wolves reintroduced themselves naturally back into Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and Idaho like they did in the Great Lakes region, then the people who are not pro-wolf would be more accepting to coexist with them.  It hadn't happened for a stable population for over 70 years, and in Colorado for nearly 90 years, though.  It's sad that wolves are caught in the middle of two political sides that are using them as a leverage bag.

Been following your…

Been following your department's wolf reintroduction and tracking.  You guys provide excellent detailed updates.  Looks like the overall reintroduction is going well, and will help with the biodiversity.

Ranchers and hunters used…

Ranchers and hunters used the same term to poach wolves when they were protected in the Northern Rocky Mountain states, and still do in Idaho and Montana during non-hunting season.  Been reading some people advocating this in areas of Oregon and Washington State where wolves are protected.

It was mankind that wiped…

It was mankind that wiped out wolves in that area due to old folks tales, so it is a good idea to bring them back.  I will take the side of natural reintroduction, but if that doesn't happen, then mankind's reintroduction from a past mistake is the next best thing.

Would be great if Oriji or…

Would be great if Oriji or Denegal developed well, because they have the body-frame to be special in college and at the next level.

You mean just like in…

You mean just like in December of 2022?

It felt like Michigan put in…

It felt like Michigan put in little effort in the December portal this past year compared to last year.  Unless the coaching staff that stayed were for sure there were not going to be as many departures as there was, then there should have been more emphasis for portal guys like there was last year.  I can remember reading and hearing about a handful of guys Michigan was even slightly interested in.

The addition of the Northwestern OG and Maryland LB look like they are nice pieces, but there are many more holes that could have been filled, especially on offense like with WR Jahmal Banks from Wake Forest that ended up at Nebraska.

I like the idea of…

I like the idea of stiffer background checks, but not lengthy ones because it delayed Wink creating relationships with recruits.

I may be lost here, but what exactly was in Stallions', Weiss' and Shoops' backgrounds that would have prevented them from being hired at Michigan whether the process was short or long?

I think most already knew…

I think most already knew this based on Warde's past comments.  If Warde wants Howard to be successful next year, then he needs to be relaxed on NIL and force Howard to replace some assistants.

Santa had to step in with…

Santa had to step in with the Harbaugh situation when Warde seemed to be lacking doing his job with it, so if Santa has to step in with Howard's situation as well, then what point would it be to keep Warde around?

This team isn't just losing,…

This team isn't just losing, they are losing horribly.  The players have definitely checked out.

Is it safe to assume it was…

Is it safe to assume it was Gattis that snitched to the NCAA about the whole burger, recruits and Harbaugh telling the NCAA he can't remember who paid for them that started an investigation?

If the $13 million on…

If the $13 million on transfers is true, then OSU has to be north of $20 for their entire roster.  The begging Ryan Day did two years ago for $13 million exceeded his expectations by a large amount, while Michigan hasn't reached any of their NIL fund goals that were suppose to be "Game Changers".

Grant and Graham are more…

Grant and Graham are more than likely staying at Michigan for one more year, then making millions after that.  I would bet they are going to make a good chunk of money at Michigan this year to keep them staying, then off to the NFL where both will make millions each year for a long time.  It's the underclassmen who are not eligible for the NFL Draft next year, or ones that need two more years of development that I would worry about.

It's an amazing experience…

It's an amazing experience in a setting as natural as it gets.  It's heartbreaking that the indigenous wolves were almost wiped out due to lack of genetic diversity because no new wolves could migrate into the island due to Lake Superior not deep-freezing like it use to.  Some tried to migrate from Duluth, MN, but sadly drowned, so the NPS decided to reintroduce some a few years ago.

In 2016 there were 2 wolves left (father and daughter), after the reintroduction there are now more than 25 and increasing.  The moose were said by Dr. Rolf Peterson to overgraze and overbrowse on vegetation with a population of nearly 1,500, but disease and starvation (along with natural predation from wolves) has knocked their numbers to around 1,000, which is pretty healthy.

There we go...that solves…

There we go...that solves the issues of this team.  Now they are gonna take the B1G Tournament and head to the dance and win it all.

At the time of hire it…

At the time of hire it looked good.  He played in the NBA, was an assistant in the NBA and had experience working with young talent in the league.  It just hasn't, and more than likely will not work out at Michigan for Howard.

I have said this before and will continue believing it, he is best suited for a tier 2 or tier 3 college basketball program, such as a MAC school.  I really like Howard and his love for Michigan, but tough choices have to be made for the better of the basketball program.  Of he stays next year, I hope he changes his resume at Michigan, but doubt it.

I have worked the research…

I have worked the research project on Isle Royale and with wolves in the U.P. and have never had issues.  I have worked (volunteered) with wolves in Yellowstone and never felt threatened by them.

The ranchers have fear of what wolves COULD do and not what they do in large sample sizes.  Ed Bangs said it best, "98% of ranchers will never have a wolf encounter their livestock, 2% will have issues every few years and a few will have yearly issues."  With all due respect to ranchers, it is a small percentage that overblow their fear of wolves killing livestock, and these fears have been going on since the 19th century when Europeans moved West of the Mississippi.

Surprised Kris Jenkins is…

Surprised Kris Jenkins is not in the category "Good starters within 2 years" or higher, but also surprised Trente Jones is that highly graded.

I will bet you every dollar…

I will bet you every dollar I ever make they will not come anywhere near you.

In the last decade or so…

In the last decade or so Oregon has had wolves naturally populate the state, and now possibly wolverines.  No matter how many mistakes we humans make with nature, the residents and itself always find ways to fix it.
