By contract, I’m assuming the entire legally binding documents, not just deal points. But, to not have presented him with an executable agreement, immediately is just flat bad on the administrative staff. Some one within the administration needs to learn how to close a fucking deal, and not assume verbal communication is sufficient.

I still believe it’s JH call on coaching here or the NFL, but that assumes the administration is doing everything they can to make him stay, not failing to prepare a legal document

Can we please stop with the fire warde nonsense. Nobody knows anything. IF Harbaugh leaves (something he's earned) Michigan has depth and experience returning in the roster and has a great HC option in Moore or even Minter. Team 145 and beyond will be JUST FINE.

I’ve mentally moved on to Sherrone and wish Jim luck on future endeavors since the Rose Bowl. If he stays, awesome, what a surprise! But I think the Harbaugh era might be over, and I’m excited to see what Sherrone could become.

I dunno about y'all, but I've read JUB's books and thought very highly of him.

Ever since his 'insider info' regarding Connor "the green onion" Scallion and the Great Signgate Debacle, my opinion of him has dropped significantly.

His knowledge of what's going on seems no better than any other random twitterer.

It's not happening.

It does not take "months" to figure out the appropriate for cause language or terms.

Jim ain't signing because he doesn't need to sign until he knows what his NFL options are.

“Finished” means signed to most people. I negotiate contracts for a living. Finished means signed to me.

If Michigan has not sent a draft to Harbaugh, we should be upset. JUB previously said Michigan sent a draft to Harbaugh.

This seems like rage bait from JUB.

I like JUB, but quite frankly, he has no more credibility on this stuff than some anonymous YouTube, X, or other social media platform. Bottom line...nobody knows nothing. He should just stick with that.

Between Harbaugh and Warde by the time Harbaugh decides to leave for the NFL there will be no good coaches left. Even MSU will have a more experienced coach than we will... Maybe the delay is by design to force the program into an internal hire.

The average fan is a moron.  Ryan Day has been to the playoffs three times. A field goal away from a national championship last year and a scoop and score overturned a few years prior. He is a top five coach. I hate to disappoint you. The odds of Michigan getting someone as good as Day are not great.

I understand the emotional attachment to Sherrone and I respect him for keeping the team together and focused during that stretch. But the dude turtles harder than Lloyd ever did with a lead. His scripted drives can be fantastic but his 2-3 quarter playcalling with a lead is infuriating at times. Defense bailed him out in every single big game down the stretch. PSU, MARYLAND (ffs), OSU, Bama, Wash. He might be a better program/glue guy than OC but I am not even in love with him as OC, much less HC.

Harbaugh is “set to meet with Chargers”. I suspect that is the source of delay.

Sherrone Moore will more than likely be the next head coach as Harbaugh goes out to LA to pursue the Lombardi one last time.

Harbaugh came and re-established Michigan as a NCAA superpower. He can go with our gratitude. I just hope he leaves Sherrone enough pieces to keep the car running smoothly. Young coach needs all the help they can get while they grow into the position.

It looks like every single successful program in this country gets more loyalty out of their coaches than we do.

OSU wins it all, they get ready to reload. Same for Bama, Georgia, Clemson, ect.

We win it all and everyone says "he's proven everything he can at the college level"

Really? Why do we have to put up with this shit but other fanbases don't? Where are the Kirby Smart rumors? Where were the Urban Meyer rumors? Why do we have to expect less than every other successful football program in this country?

I am probably the biggest JUB hater on this board and I think this tweet illustrates why he receives my vitriol.

At his core, JUB is an unsophisticated person commenting on things requiring sophistication.  There is a reason why his academic pursuits have not expanded past one zip code, nor have his literary works.

At his core, he fishes for clicks just as much as all of the ESPN talking heads we routinely guillotine on this board.

Contracts of this nature are only "finished" when they are signed.  Period.  Not a moment before.  Anyone with any experience dealing with these sorts of sensitive matters knows this.  They require finesse.

Michigan fandom is wise enough to know that the hangup is not Warde Manuel's failure to send a redline or tweaking a provision.  Get serious.  We are at the mercy of JH and we should be!  He deserves to take his time making a decision.  Anyone spreading anything other than that is not thinking clearly.

According to Sports Illustrated, the clause holding up the contract extension is whether or not Harbaugh can be fired for cause based on the current NCAA investigations.

If true, this is extremely disappointing. UM needs to offer him the Bill Self contract. To wit: Harbaugh can't be fired "for cause" for anything arising from these "scandals." Full stop.

Hard to take anything JUB is putting out on this issue seriously. If Harbaugh and the University are  still negotiating the terms of the contract, then obviously it's not finished??? It's becoming obvious that JUB is operating as some sort of Harbaugh mouth-piece in this episode and I don't see how he retains any credibility here. Just a month or so ago we were hearing that Michigan had presented him with a new contract that would make him like the highest or second highest paid coach in CFB.

I'm no fan of Warde and I honestly think that Michigan should move on from him and find a serious upgrade in the AD's office, but pinning this all on him seems unfair. Every contract negotiation has two sides. What if it's Harbaugh that's being unreasonable in all this? Seems that could well be the case IMO. Also, if Harbaugh is serious about testing out his NFL options, then wouldn't he be the one holding up the negotiations? Just seems like this is all dogpiling for dogpile's sake and JUB is happy to point the finger at UM and Warde.

Who knows, but I remember reading that Jim wants a guarantee that he won't get fired for cause on the info out there right now, not some indemnification against things he might be accused of in the future.

That's completely reasonable, imo.

I mean, it’s really not, because it’s entirely dependent on what the NCAA, who is not a party to the contract, decides to do.

If the NCAA decides to drop a show cause for a year on Harbaugh, Michigan would be insane to precommit to having to have an interim coach for a year while still paying Harbaugh.

Culture hopefully built that will stay but we are losing a lot....not to mention it's hard to find a good QB and we don't even have an idea of who will start next year. Our schedule is brutal. He is as hot a name as he will ever be again. He was almost ran out of town and now is cemented twice as a michigan legend. Honestly, he should go. There are a lot of good NFL openings. He should really go if given a good opportunity. Also gives him more time to work on his family life.

JUB knows a little about law. A long time ago JUB was down to a choice between law school, or being a writer. In fact, he scored as high as you can score on the LSAT. But he had a hard time seeing himself as a lawyer, and decided to become a writer. This is first-hand knowledge, no linky.
