I like JJ, I think he's a…

I like JJ, I think he's a better prospect than Drake Maye.

I also have no idea how any QB will do in the NFL, a quality I seem to share with every other human being on Earth.

"Michigan had our frequency!"

"Michigan had our frequency!"

Batphone Rich Rod.

Batphone Rich Rod.

QB sure, no matter what…

QB sure, no matter what happens big ole downgrade.

Is anybody really confident in saying what we've got in the oline yet, though? Also all respect to last year's receiving corps, but it wasn't the first thing you'd bring up when you talked Michigan football.

It's a tough schedule, but I have a lot of faith in Moore, and that the talent development pipeline has done a lot of the work already. We'll see, but I'll calibrate my expectations when Texas comes to town.

Hard to see outside your own…

Hard to see outside your own bias, but I'm very frustrated.

I feel the NCAA took some minor violations and held them over us for a long ass time as a petty vindictive thing with Harbaugh. I don't want to admit guilt, even if the punishment is 1 cent, because it validates the NCAA behavior.

I'm willing to accept some degree of punishment on the Stalions thing, because while I think it was limited to Stalions, and wildly overblown, something that shouldn't have happened happened.

But this one feels surreal to me. OSU spends 15 million in free agency and gets nothing but praise, and we've got this nonsense hung around our neck.

The NCAA has shown us over…

The NCAA has shown us over and over again that they have no stomach for a fight.

It's crazy how many posters here are like "let's just appease them."

If you legitimately think Michigan deserved this punishment, I respect that, I think you're wrong but I respect it.

But lots of people agree with me that this is trumped up nonsense but still didn't want to fight it, which I don't get.

You're a free man Harbaugh,…

You're a free man Harbaugh, I'm sad you're not our coach anymore, but if you want to rip the NCAA from a distance, do you need pens? Cause I got pens.

Yeah, top 3 for me provided…

Yeah, top 3 for me provided you put the premium on QBs.

I'd buy Caleb Williams and Jaden Daniels over him, I'm not very sold on Drake Maye.

Who knows if JJ will work out, I hope so. The good film is really good, but the drop off in play is a worry, so I think it depends heavily on which film you want to believe. (JJ wasn't bad PSU on, he just wasn't good enough to be a top 5 talent, imo)

It's not about not being up…

It's not about not being up for a fight. It's about whether the people around you have your back or not.

Michigan didn't act in its…

Michigan didn't act in its best interest. Again it handed the bully its lunch money.

I don't know man, the guy…

I don't know man, the guy had to put up with a lot of bullshit and his services were certainly in demand.

Michigan should have told the NCAA "you know what we'll just see you in court" a long ass time ago.

Some of this is going over…

Some of this is going over my head, what is the NOA, and what exactly does the metaphor of bus wheels going "whomp, whomp" mean?

If we win next year it'll be…

If we win next year it'll be almost as good as 2021. OSU is penciling it in as a W already.

You can keep this one OSU.

You can keep this one OSU.

I expected something a bit…

I expected something a bit more dramatic. I have no idea if this is a shot or not, if it is a shot, it's lame.

Lol, this is so true. God, I…

Lol, this is so true. God, I'm gonna miss that guy, but maybe he'll motivate me to actually watch the NFL next year.

I kinda get people having…

I kinda get people having reservations about JJ because of the drop in his level of play in the 2nd half of the season...

But I've become pretty convinced that a lot of these draft expert talking heads don't watch film, because JJ was outstanding in the first half of the season, yet they never talk about it.

FFS, even just look at his stats. Spoiler: he was pretty good during that half of a season he was averaging like a 96 QBR.

I didn't do a bracket this…

I didn't do a bracket this year for the first time in awhile, because I end up rooting against the upsets I didn't pick (plus I tend to not watch a lick of basketball till March anyway).

I'm enjoying the hell out of it.

This is really cool.

This is really cool.

I mean, they will choose #2…

I mean, they will choose #2 100% of the time, but that's not about winning.

1 will win you more games. 2 won't interrupt the flow of the gravy train, which is the real objective.

Not sure if I'm disagreeing with you, though.

Honest advice:

Instead of…

Honest advice:

Instead of putting "tough" up on that wall, put "you can't beat Michigan" up on that wall.

I'm legitimately not trolling. The culture problem with that program is they're constantly telling themselves they've earned shit they haven't earned. You have all the talent in the world, try challenging it rather than flattering it.

We are in their head,…

We are in their head, perhaps even more than we'd like to be.

Them turning signal-gate into a crusade was about not being able to process what's happening.

I obviously don't want them to win this year, but if they do, maybe they'll tone it down some.

Preach.

Sorry NCAA, no…

Preach.

Sorry NCAA, no other major football program is going to bend over for you the way Michigan does.

I really do not care about…

I really do not care about firing Warde now. I wanted him fired before he fucked up the contract negotiations. He hired the right guy in Moore, for about the right money, so whatever.

I think we all agree that…

I think we all agree that Moore is the most likely, but did this really need to be downvoted this much?

Anyway, I would consider Minter for the job as well if he wants it. I still lean Moore, but as far as talent as a coordinator goes, I think it's easy to argue Minter has been more impressive. I'm hopeful we can plug in another guy like Minter and have similar success, but Minter has been the best version of what we've been trying to do post Don Brown.

Who knows? People want to…

Who knows? People want to compare this to the Day hire mostly. The difference is OSU was certain they'd maintain the same level of success under Day, we have no idea if we can maintain the same level of success under Moore, we would just like to try to continue to run the program in the way that was working, and since the Michigan recipe is somewhat unique at this point, an outside hire blows it all up.

I'm somewhat tired of…

I'm somewhat tired of talking about Warde. I'm in the "it mostly is his fault" camp, but the damage is now done. Warde is also going to hire the next football coach, hopefully he goes with the obvious choice.

We could debate this endlessly, but we'll never get to run the counterfactual.

I really though his…

I really though his performances of late would have him slipping out of the first round, I'll be glad for him if he doesn't,.

I have no idea, it's…

I have no idea, it's interesting there's such a split in the fan base between "Warde's fault" "not Warde's fault" camps.

I'd prefer Michigan not retain Warde, as it seems like we can argue about what is or is not his fault, but we can't argue over his successes because there aren't any. OK, he didn't fire Harbaugh when there was moderate pressure to do so after the 2020 season, would have been a pretty rash move, but I guess it was possible. I'll give him that one.

I think he should stay away…

I think he should stay away from NFTs.

I'm less tired of this then…

I'm less tired of this then I was tired of being a football team that struggled to hit 8 wins.

I'm firmly in the "I blame…

I'm firmly in the "I blame Warde for everything" camp.

That may be unfair, but it sounds like coach shares my sentiment!

This year I get it. I think…

This year I get it. I think the university support of Jim has been lousy, and I blame Warde.

I think Edwards could get…

I think Edwards could get better, I don't know if he will or not, but this wasn't a stellar year for him, obviously.

Nice ending to the year, though!

2

I'll acknowledge it's all…

2

I'll acknowledge it's all speculation, but I've heard enough from Harbaugh I'm fairly convinced he wants to come back. I understand why Warde cut Harbaugh's pay after 2020, but that relationship needed to be repaired immediately after 21, and I don't think Warde ever did it, because I think Warde just has a big ego and can't accept that Harbaugh is more important to UM than he is.

Also, I think it's pretty easy to argue that all this capitulation to the NCAA rather than Michigan defending its reputation and putting its own case in the media was Warde's brilliant idea.

I think it's a little…

I think it's a little difficult to put it behind us, when it's not really behind us.

We still have rival fan bases trying to stoke the story. We still have an investigation. We have a coach who has surpassed Bo currently employed, and we may not be able to retain him because of this.

I'm not as angry about it as you, but I'm not in forgive and forget territory either, people still want to weaponize the story against us, and they really don't give a shit if Connor Stalions was a rogue guy providing little competitive advantage.

Who knows, but I remember…

Who knows, but I remember reading that Jim wants a guarantee that he won't get fired for cause on the info out there right now, not some indemnification against things he might be accused of in the future.

That's completely reasonable, imo.

OSU's got a very this is…

OSU's got a very this is their year vibe going.

Between you me and the walls, I thought Ryan Day did a pretty good job this year coaching them up, and that was a good team, maybe the best team we played this year.

Ryan Day can also fuck off forever for all his bitching about sign stealing, as can the world's most annoying fan base.

And then there's the type of…

And then there's the type of NIL where player's license their name, image, or likeness for advertisements, which is what all of this was supposed to be about.

I'm not against paying players, but I hate this whole grey money system.

I feel like if I was in Jim…

I feel like if I was in Jim's shoes I wouldn't trust Warde either. Jim loves Michigan, but for a guy like him I imagine it's really hard to have a boss that A. You don't respect and B. You don't trust.

But he did recover it!

But he did recover it!

This one legitimately got me…

This one legitimately got me a little emotional. I'm aware Jake Thaw has been beating himself up over this, and when Harbaugh stops smiling and is so genuine with him to try to get him to be proud of the thing he did...

Whoever is cutting onions in here needs to stop!

I did take a look at the…

I did take a look at the Vegas odds, and they had Moore as only a 25/1 shot, better odds than Sark according to them. I don't really believe that's a possibility, but that would be something.

DeBeor is a potential candidate for that job, and would also maybe be a candidate for a Michigan outside hire, I don't think most of us would want an outside hire, but if you're worried about the availability of that guy, then sure, could impact that.

Seems like it'll probably be Lanning and wrapped up quickly, though.

Oh fuck you. You're saying…

Oh fuck you. You're saying this now, because the media doesn't have your back anymore, and people are realizing what a screw job this was.

Please tell us more about how the coordinated leaks were actually for our own good.

Every time I read about them…

Every time I read about them I just get pissed. NCAA votes itself more power, but don't worry some clown from the MAC signed off on it.

Going after Michigan was the smartest thing they ever did, everyone was ready to be done with them, but once they started targeting mean ole Harbaugh people changed their tune.

I remember how I actually…

I remember how I actually felt when I was that young, I don't want to go back.

On the other hand, you probably had to work hard to not get laid last night.

I actually don't find it…

I actually don't find it funny, I find it frustrating how many non-OSU fans have bought into their narrative, but whatever, I guess I'll just have to console myself with reality.

Yahoo sports is not my favorite outlet of late.
