Thanks for everything JJ

I think hes gonna be a much better pro than people expect. Michigans offense isnt exactly QB friendly and our wide receiver room is pretty mediocre. He’s not gonna be CJ Stroud but I think he might pop in a similar way when you put him with NFL WRs in an NFL passing offense. Hes got all the tools

Sad to see him go, of course. But he exits not only as a national champion and a Michigan legend, but with a perfect 3-0 record against Ohio. The Buckeye Slayer, JJ McCarthy.

Thank you for everything, JJ. I'll remember what you did for as long as I live. Go Blue.

Thank you JJ.  Thank you for reestablishing a winning culture, a culture of teamwork, love and brotherhood.  You will forever be a Michigan legend.  Now go kill it in the league.

At the beginning of the year when someone asked if JJ would come back or go pro at the end of the season, I remember thinking, “Hopefully they win the national championship and his decision is pretty much made for him.”

Well that’s exactly what happened. While I would have loved for JJ to come back for another year, I’ll gladly take that tradeoff. Good luck to him in the NFL!

The starting quarterback is gone, long live the starting quarterback!

Good luck! In addition to all he’s done for the program, I admire him putting his decision in the first paragraph of the announcement instead of the last one

There was nothing left for him to do. He did everything he promised. We'll probably never see another UM QB as successful as he was at Michigan. Go continue to be great JJ.

27-1 as a starter.

Second best Win% of an QB with at least 20 starts in Division 1 history.

When people compile the “All Time Michigan” team, he will unanimously be the QB on that list.

So long. We had the opportunity to see a prince become the King.

Good luck and thanks for everything you brought and everything you gave. You played hurt during many games. When we may have wavered, you told us to take a breath and chill. You gave your heart and soul to Michigan, to us. And I will be forever grateful.

I'm rooting for him, whatever team he goes to.

His winning percentage is the highest for any starter in the modern era, 3 OSU victories, 3 B1G Champs, National Champ. There is nothing more to prove.

As with many QBs, if he goes to the right situation I think he can be a great pro. I will be rooting for him.

Godspeed.  Forever a Michigan legend.

Will be very very difficult to find a QB and leader as unselfish as JJ.

Harbaugh’s culture is special and can help mold men into team first guys, but JJ came in as the rare 5 star team first QB out of HS.

Only waiting on Barner, Trente, Don and Roman at this point. Good luck JJ!

Next year is going to be a lot different for those of us who have been spoiled for the last three years.

What a joy to have JJ lead our Wolverines for the past two years. 27-1, 3 B1G Titles, 3 CFP appearances and a National Championship says it all. JJ's physical talents are excellent and his intangibles are off the charts. He turns 21 in a week. We will see what his future in football holds-I will not be surprised if he ends up being the top QB from this high ceiling class.

Sincere thanks and congratulations.

A MASSIVE thanks and best to him! Wish he came back but I get it. He heads to The NFL having lost a single game as a starter, undefeated vs OSU in his time at UM, B1G Champ every year in his time at UM and his final game was winning a National Championship.

That's pretty much all you can ask for as a fan or player.

I think he still has a lot to work on but he can do that in the right scenario at the next level as much or more than a Senior year at UM. I don't see the 1st round mocks but all the tools are there so maybe it happens. I only hope he goes to the right scenario regardless of what pick.

Loved everything JJ did for the team.

Totally unselfish and focused on Team goals and not personal ones.

He is, and always will be, a Michigan Legend.

Excited for him on his next chapter.

Doesn't seem terrific that Michigan is batting. 000 on guys coming back. That may say something but maybe not. Winning a NC is a pretty darn good time to move on, especially for Wallace where he absolutely balled out in the NCG. He went against a few top WRs all day and held his own. Stock is as high as it can be.

Also, if Jim leaves Minter is leaving. Almost a sure thing. If Jim stays and Macdonald gets a HC gig, Minter is leaving. Almost a sure thing. So just assume he's gone and be pleasantly surprised if he is here for 24.

As for Jim, he is also big on telling guys that are ready to move on. He doesn't try to keep guys just to help his college team. He actually told Corum to go pro last year. He told Peppers, Gary, etc to go. Their leaving isn't necessarily an indication of his decision but I don't think it's a good sign either.
