Michigan is going suffocate Franklin's "check it down" offense and slowly pull away from an excellent Penn State defense.

It will look like the Nebraska game only Michigan will be forced to settle for FG's on half of their scoring drives.

This feels right.

I just don't see where Penn State is getting their points this weekend. Harbaugh is 5-3 vs Penn State. Throw out the 2020 game as it holds no relevance:

In 2017, Barkley racked up 161 yards and 3 touchdowns on 18 offensive touches. (And this is really the only game that Penn State outplayed Michigan of the 7 non-Covid games).

In 2019, Hamler had 108 yards and 2 touchdowns on 6 receptions. Michigan outgained Penn State by 130+ yards, had the ball to tie in the 4th quarter and were pretty unlucky to be down the way they were due to some questionable calls in the 1st half.

Who on Penn State's offense is putting anything like those numbers up this year? Feels like their defense would have to Iowa around 10 points on top of playing even better than they did against OSU to pull off a 17-14 type victory.

31-13 feels right for Michigan barring an officiating fiasco or a McCarthy multi pick-six game.

I feel awful for the players. Whatever pressure they were under to win before this all happened, it’s  magnified by an order of a hundred now. Because if they lose this weekend, or two weeks from now, they will never hear the end of it. It will be an unlimited supply of ammunition for the CHEATERS CHEATERS LIARS FRAUDS crowd.

They will all be labeled as frauds until the end of time and be told that the only reason they won anything the last two years is because they cheated. The media will eat this up and shit all over them because they can.

It’s not even remotely fair to them, but that is the world we are living in. They have pressure to win this weekend not just to win the Big Ten and make the CFP, but to protect their own legacies and reputations.

I’m not sure thats pressure I could handle.

I sure hope so. I don't think I could blame them if the pressure became too much. I mean sure, someone can say if you don't want pressure, don't play football at Michigan.

But this is so different because this is now beyond the field. Now the program's entire sense of integrity of decency is being called into question.

This isn't just a referendum on the program. This will define the individual player's reputations and legacies to everyone outside Michigan fandom, and for years to come. If Michigan loses, all an outsider will think of when they hear JJ McCarthy, Blake Corum, Zak Zinter, Will Johnson, are just "Oh yeah, those cheaters. They got what they deserved."

Just about everyone in college football fandom will be rooting for Michigan's opponents the rest of the way this year.

I really hope the team is able to lock it all out and focus on the task at hand. Luckily, they are a veteran group.

That's unfortunately accurate.

I'm glad we have a very mature team with plenty of leaders.  I swear, BIG better not pull some BS and jeopardize Harbaugh's status.  We need our Coach to lead these young men.

This man truly loves his players and vice versa.

Dellenger adds more:

"Michigan with a warning to the Big Ten in its letter: "The conference should act cautiously when setting precedent given the reality that in-person scouting, collusion among opponents, and other questionable practices may well be far more prevalent than believed.”'

An entirely appropriate warning that's obvious to us and should be obvious to unbiased sources: PI firms, in-season punishments of infractions of questionable severity before investigations complete; indefinite suspensions of coaches who, as yet, appear to have known nothing about what is going on; torpedoing the season of a genuine national title contender for a conference that has had very few.

A whole series of Rubicons crossed and about to be crossed. They should be very, very worried about precedents, and it's ridiculous that Michigan has to remind them of this.

And for those who didn't understand my perhaps unclear writing earlier: It's not ridiculous for Michigan to say this. It's ridiculous and absurd that it has gotten to this point.

...I hope Michigan has the goods. More than the stories that came out this week. That's a warning shot of more that I hope has ammo behind it.

I think the fact that two things of note were leaked about NCAA finding Harbaugh had no knowledge and Day has no known connection to the PI on the same day was the organization trying to send a message to the B1G and Michigan, respectively. In the former it's telling the B1G that they aren't going to do more than a slap on the wrist, and in the latter telling Michigan to stop airing any really bad dirty laundry.

I also think what was leaked was part of Michigan's legal strategy, and I think the only strategy that could come out with a court win, which is to have a judge declare Michigan's contract with the B1G to be in abyss. From what I read about caselaw, it's tricky to argue what authority an organization has to discipline if the agreement that was signed with them outlining what discipline can be levied is a bit nebulous; however, if contract fraud is to be argued, and the question of equal treatment on punished were to be brought forward as compounding arguments, I think both would have a standing, especially if there was collusion within the ranks of the other members and Michigan entered into the agreement under the assumption of fair play. In other words, can Michigan argue

  1.  that the B1G and its members represented that everything will be fair amongst the members
    • I think this is implied
  2. the above is false
    • if you have members colluding to cheat against Michigan prior to the contract being formed (which was just signed in the summer) so I think that's true
    • Harbaugh is the only one punished under the Sportsmanship clause
    • therefore things are not fair
  3. the liars knew it was false
    • if there was collusion then the liars knew it was false
    • Even if the presidents and ADs didn't know, if Harbaugh is a responsible party for his staff acting on their own accord, then University presidents and ADs must also have the same responsibility for coaches and staff
  4. the liars intended for Michigan to rely on fairness to join in on the conference contract
    • I think this goes without saying
  5. The liars relied on the lie
    • Yes
  6. Michigan sustained harm because it relied on the lie
    • if Harbaugh is the only one disciplined under the fairness doctrine this would be true

What about ESPN? If they determined that Michigan's only chance in court is to go down this road, they would have a huge incentive to keep lighting the shit on fire because a B1G without Michigan is to their benefit.

What about FOX, NBC, CBS? If Michigan prevails, they will immediately sue the B1G because the value of the conference games has declined in value relative to what was negotiated.

What about Tony the Tigger Petitti? If he backs down now his authority will forever be in question. If he proceeds down the road of punishment and Michigan prevails, Larry Scotting the Pac12 will be a meme, Tony Petitting the B1G will become a case study. If he proceeds down the road of punishment and Michigan loses, his authority will still hold, and even if after the current GOR deal expires Michigan leaves that may or may not even be his problem. His only chance to save his job is to hand out punishment and hope Michigan loses in court.

So I think for selfish reasons he will levy a suspension punishment and dare Michigan to have it play out in the courts.

Of course that is all just my opinion, IANAL, and I got all my degrees from South Harmon Institute of Technology, so as a Walmart Wolverine, it's probably better that I quit drinking and go to bed.

Judgement Day 2 - Electric Boogaloo

Hopefully, without the need for an actual judge doing something.

Beat PSU!

EDIT - For those of you under 40, November 8, 1997 was Judgement Day when two sets of unbeaten teams faced each other. FSU beat UNC 20-3 and future National Champion Michigan beat PSU 34-8. 1997 Judgement Day MGoPost w/videos

And for those under 50, “Electric Boogaloo” was the ridiculous subtitle to the ridiculous sequel to the ridiculous original that was the movie “Breakin’.” It has since been adopted by Gen-X to represent anything that reprises anything that should’ve never been done in the first place.

All this is going to go away, but the coaches that stole/shared our signs will get a “stern warning “ from the B1G.  That’s as close to punishment they will get, but boy will they be pissed!

Even with all the shit Harbaugh, coaches and players have to endure the last two weeks, it must be a big boost to our players the way UM is fighting back. I am expecting a sharp laser focused team on Saturday to take down PSU. Go Blue! Beat the shit out of PSU.

He also says a lot of words without saying anything of substance. His rhythm is to talk like he has a major cliff hanger coming every 3 mins, but it’s never anything but a vague opinion that hedges his ability to claim he was never actually wrong.

I can’t watch his show anymore because it’s a wasted 30 mins of my life
