Ryan Day - "We've learned a lot about what's been going on the past two years"
It seems Cryan Ryan hasn't learned his lesson yet.
November 20th, 2023 at 9:23 PM ^
Can't wait to hear what the excuse is next week!
November 20th, 2023 at 9:26 PM ^
Irritable bowel syndrome, maybe? The excuses just get worse and worse each year.
"It was cold and snowing and we had the flu! And... and..."
"It was just five plays!"
"They had our signs! (Nevermind the fact that we also had theirs and passed them around the conference to no avail)"
"We had to play cross-legged to keep from pooping"
This assclown clearly has zero faith or confidence in his staff, his players, or himself to get the job done... But they pay good money, so they'll continue to get the recruits.
November 20th, 2023 at 10:35 PM ^
Three football seasons is simply not enough time to change something as complicated as signs.
November 21st, 2023 at 9:59 AM ^
Three football seasons, all of the five stars in the world, and the collective coaching efforts of 13 B1G teams was not enough to beat Michigan. That's what he learned. There is not a big enough superlative to describe how soft they are. 10-ply Ryan.

Bulletin Board material.
Do those exist anymore? Cork boards with thumbtacks?
November 20th, 2023 at 11:30 PM ^
A lot has gone on in the last few years.
You've taken the high road do you wanna comment on that?
LoL he just did......
November 21st, 2023 at 5:20 AM ^
even by their own admissions they knew all about the sign issues before last year's game in columbus and still got crushed
also, they had don brown's signals down so well there is a virtual powerpoint they used to then jump ahead of us for their offensive calls play after play.
i candidly don't think we're going to win saturday, missing our hall of fame coach, but if we do i hope the chaos and tears in ohio last for decades.
November 21st, 2023 at 8:04 AM ^
can't believe you found that, but i'll re-issue that same dire prediction. unfortunately i won't be in a position saturday to offer my old testament sacrifice of a deer, so last year's offering will have to do.
November 21st, 2023 at 11:20 AM ^
Just felt like I remember you being somewhat pessimistic heading into last years game as well. As I said, I love it!
November 21st, 2023 at 9:26 AM ^
I might agree with your prediction if we were not playing at home. We're all a bit anxious because we didn't look great last week. But we have the best unit on the field -- our Defense -- and they have the worst unit on the field -- their Offense. I think it's unlikely that they get more than 24 points, so we just need to exceed that number. We play a lot better at home and when JJ runs our offense is explosive. And surely we'll break out the PA pass (well, hopefully). So, thinking about that, I'm feeling better about the game.
November 21st, 2023 at 6:50 AM ^
He's just trying to make an excuse for himself and his failure to his board and fan base. He may as well have said, "We would have won the last two years, but that team up north cheated."
What an Asshat.
November 21st, 2023 at 7:26 AM ^
I'm hoping someone orders him a pizza and a golf cart. We need to freshen up our memes.
November 21st, 2023 at 8:27 AM ^
Well, he's begging to keep his job.
November 22nd, 2023 at 7:52 AM ^
Not so much his job but his legacy. Day will get another job if fired, but he doesn’t want to fall in the good company of John Cooper.
November 20th, 2023 at 9:23 PM ^
He is setting himself up for a huge fall
November 20th, 2023 at 9:44 PM ^
It's a pretty good con. If he loses again, he's gone anyway. But this way, if he could miraculously pull it out, then all the OSU psychos think it erases everything since 2019. Those, who can't coach, con.
November 20th, 2023 at 9:58 PM ^
But he would have had more leeway losing to Michigan with Harbaugh.
Losing to Michigan with an interim coach is going to absolutely get him crucified by the fanbase.
November 21st, 2023 at 11:37 AM ^
Sherrone Moore, 1-0 against OSU
Has a nice ring to it.
November 20th, 2023 at 10:00 PM ^
You absolutely nailed it! I actually think this is a coin flip game even with Harbaugh coaching, but the scales are definitely being tipped in OSU's direction. OSU is loaded with talent and definitely more 5 star talent than Michigan. He has to convince everyone that it really isn't his fault that they lost.
If the coin flip goes his way this time, then he is the hero of OSU again and all is right with the world.
If the coin flips against him, watch him bolt for Texas A&M.
November 20th, 2023 at 11:53 PM ^
You sound like a troll pretending to be a Michigan fan, nice try.
Real subtle shots at Michigan's talent while exalting osu's talent.
Others aren't buying your BS either...troll.
November 21st, 2023 at 7:29 AM ^
I've seen posting histories far worse than his.
November 21st, 2023 at 8:06 AM ^
mick, in his defense his posting history looks very solid, not one bit trollish.
November 21st, 2023 at 8:52 AM ^
Huh, do you not realize that the QB is the most important position in this sport? And McCord <<<<<< McCarthy. Not to mention the trenches. They literally have a better unit than us in 1 spot, WR. A few others are close, DE, LB. To quote five-stars as a starting point to postulate, is to be born on 3rd base, and not understand what wins the Michigan-Ohio game, which is balls of steel. Ryan day has balls of felt-wrapped jingle bells.

What a punchable face.

Eddie Munster finally grew a pair of balls after dodging questions about it for 4 weeks.
November 20th, 2023 at 9:53 PM ^
Urban told him what to say
November 20th, 2023 at 9:59 PM ^
Yeah - it was almost frustrating how many times he avoided the question and re-directed during media sessions. It is a natural curiosity, but he was consistently shooting reporters down who asked.
November 20th, 2023 at 10:05 PM ^
Curious why you think he would end his silence now? Why not just avoid it again?
November 20th, 2023 at 10:12 PM ^
All the previous times - he would re-direct and tell the reporters he only wanted to talk about his team and the upcoming opponent.
I guess this week it is a little harder to use that line to turf the question.
November 20th, 2023 at 9:24 PM ^
I don't think I've ever hated a coach as much as Ryan Day. If karma works out the way it should, OSU would get blown out on Saturday, the FBI will investigate him for illegally obtaining info on Michigan, and he would get fired and never heard from again. Unfortunately, karma usually doesn't seem to work out in favor of Michigan...
November 20th, 2023 at 9:33 PM ^
The one thing that keeps me from 100% hating him is that he sucks against us. They might eventually hire a coach who isn't so soft.
November 20th, 2023 at 9:45 PM ^
This guy is the worst. He had our signs in 2018 and 2019 on nice laminated cards so he either knows damn well he’s lying or he’s so full of himself he actually believes that surely no one can out smart Special Boy Ryan without cheating! Either option further reinforces that this dude was born on 3rd and thought he hit a triple
November 20th, 2023 at 10:07 PM ^
This is all about his ego running out of control. He thinks he is a genius and can't fathom that Michigan out toughed his finesse team the last 2 years. If he can't win this time, he will never win and his ego can't take that!
Hope the defensive plan is sound, because Michigan is going to see a lot of Ekbuka and Stover. They will take their shots with Harrison, but those guys are going to eat. Need to get home with lots of pressure and force rushed throws.
November 20th, 2023 at 10:14 PM ^
Agreed. Execrable as they were, Urban and Tressel were transparent dirtbags, well suited to an openly sleazy program that was all about winning.
Ryan Day is the soft kid who bullies the smaller kids, then cries to the teacher the minute he gets hit back
November 20th, 2023 at 10:48 PM ^
I think he might be #1 for me now too, although I truly despised Dantonio.
November 21st, 2023 at 6:01 AM ^
Dantonio is hard to beat for that honor.

I don't think it's very nice to compare Saban to some dime store Hitl- ahem, Cheeto Musso- ahem, a rapist like this.
November 20th, 2023 at 9:25 PM ^
He’s put so much on the line this weekend. This PI-scheme and media campaign, his rant against Lou Holtz, and now going on record saying that his beat downs to Michigan are from advanced scouting. Gosh - really hope we get to see him totally broken after the game Saturday when he’s exposed as being totally SOFT.
November 20th, 2023 at 9:27 PM ^
I hope he cries on camera after getting blown out on Saturday.
November 21st, 2023 at 5:37 AM ^
Probably not the best comment seeing as our interim coach just cried his eyes out.
November 21st, 2023 at 7:57 AM ^
Moore didn't cry after a 3rd straight loss. He cried after a big win. Completely different.
November 21st, 2023 at 8:37 AM ^
Huge difference. Moore was authentic. Cryin Ryan literally said, "watch this" before his rant. Complete faux outrage on his part. Fake and soft.
November 20th, 2023 at 9:34 PM ^
If OSU/Day truly did hire the PI firm, the whole investigation was a ploy to save his own ass. Lost 2 years in a row and realized that he was going up against potentially the best Michigan team ever and needed to put his hand on the scales to lean this game in his favor knowing this is his last chance. He decided to break college football's gentleman's agreement and I would be shocked if this doesn't come back to bite him
