I hope it goes well for them because Lindenwood dropped practically their entire athletic department for hockey. After 2 years of having it they found out that traveling for almost all of their games is expensive. They dropped 10 sports and 248 scholarships.
I work not too far from Lindenwood and the day before they released the information to the press they gathered all of their coaches and athletes into an auditorium. A representative of the athletic director walked in and read a statement that the coaches would be losing their jobs at the end of their seasons and the athletes would lose their scholarships. As soon as they finish the letter they turned and walked out without fielding questions. It was a fucked up way to handle the situation.
Fantastic, drove from St Louis to Carbondale Illinois area where I was raised last night. Then after today I know the country roads all the way back to St Louis so it was a little longer but avoided the practically shut down interstate.
I enjoyed the temperature drop as we got closer to totality and the crickets chirping when it hit.
As some who lives in St Louis, I would like to point out that every time Michigan has played in a regional in St Louis they have won and gone to the Frozen Four.
The last time they hosted a regional in St Louis and had it at the Enterprise Center the lower bowl wasn't even close to being full. I was there. The Maryland Heights Centene Community Ice Center is only four and a half years old and is nicer. Smaller arena and closer to the ice for a more intimate feel. I'd rather have a small full arena than a large empty one. Home of the Lindenwood Lions.
As someone who lives in St Louis now and regularly travels to Ann Arbor I'm super pumped for having this at home. I know it doesn't benefit anybody else.
But having the regional finals on Easter Sunday is pretty lame.
But it's not the market setting the value, it's the schools and the collectives. NIL was supposed to be athletes having third party companies paying them for services. Ex. commercials and endorsements. It was never intended for schools to have bidding wars for 18-22-year-olds.
Just hear me out, maybe Nick Saban can be the Frank Abagnale Jr from Catch Me If You Can. He's did all these crimes and knows exactly how people try to get away with it. He can be the guy that cleans it all up and catches everybody. It takes a con man to catch a con man. He sure the fuck can't do a worse job than what the NCAAs already doing.
I can get on board with cheating like the other schools do as long as the state's attorney general would sue the NCAA to keep us out of trouble. It worked in the state of North Carolina and currently in Tennessee. Just keeping up with the Joneses.
He's not necessarily wrong, Saban has made it clear that he only cares about Saban. That's why he would throw his little tantrums and get rules changed like satellite camps. He has no loyalty to anyone else and people will listen to him. This crazy shit can't last. You'll find out real quickly when you start playing the new college football video game and are trying to scrape cash together for your backup/future starting running back not to transfer. I know it's going to piss me off.
There are reason that coaches are jumping out of college football at an extraordinary rate. Living in the wild west might seem fun for a little bit, but when it actually starts affecting people personally the shine goes away. Who the hell wants to worry about making sure an unrational 19-20 your old is getting a six-figure salary or they're going to run off to the highest bidder. And the kid can do it as many times as he wants.
I feel like if we keep adding teams to the playoff its just going to muddy the water. I would have preferred eight, but now it's getting the point where three lost teams are going to be getting in.
Sam was right, he accepted the job. He literally said on the round table that their head coach had just found out about the offer after he accepted it. Of course there was going to be a counter.
It's nice to have a program that can battle the NFL for coaches, but damn those losses can hurt. Like the Roundtable said nobody's coming to try to take Ohio State coaches.

Coincidentally in the last 3 years my views have morphed from obsessive to still extremely passionate, but understanding this ultimately is just a game. I'll still be pissed off for a day after a loss and will still be overjoyed for every win. It was the best four game stretch of travel that I've ever had in my life, but l'll pick up where I left off. I was at fandom endurance in 2008 and felt the 15-year extreme lull. I've experienced the absolute worst and the absolute best. Ride or die
I would say that you throw them under the bus if you're hoping to light a fire under their asses. It's not for everyone, but calling a player out sometimes can be effective.
I am very frustrated, but I still have a hard time blaming him 100%. If admissions wouldn't have screwed him over with Shannon and Love this would be of completely different team. But ultimately you have to play with what you got and it's been trash and that's hard to overlook.

Have we forgotten that everything he touches turns to gold? Name one adventure that's not worked out with him being there. I think you could throw a co-defensive coordinator on him. I wouldn't put him as the lone man, but he's been absolutely fantastic.

It's a really nice facility that's only 4 years old and it's where Lindenwood plays their three home games.
Edit: it was an exaggeration, but they did not have many home games. Also it's nicer than half the Big Ten's arenas.

I disagree with this, I think you should get the maximum penalty for fumbling the ball at the most crucial area of the field. Don't fumble.
