This would be the correct answer, player's with live feed have a box containing a hat from every NFL team sent to their location.  I'm not sure of the cost but the NFL prints money, so I'm sure it's not something the league is too concerned with.

My guess is extra hats are given away to friends and family.

I'm thinking more like Ron…

I'm thinking more like Ron Lumberg.....

Yeah, I'm going to have to ask you to move your NIL down to storage room B., yeah.

I was born 30 years prior to…

I was born 30 years prior to you and I don't remember that many developmental QB's.  My first memory of an OSU qb was Art Schlichter and he was good.  Mike Tomczak followed Schlichter and had a year of development in the early 80's before becoming pretty good for two years.  That's from the way-back machine, present day seems like a parade of All Americas.  Of course, I have always discounted them as being over-rated until they won against UM.  JT Barrett being exhibit A.  Looks average, performs average but gets the first down in every short yardage situation.

I was fortunate enough to…

I was fortunate enough to live in Germany for 6 years and I think you will enjoy the trip.  I lived in the Frankfurt area so the north of Germany never really called me to visit other than Hamburg and Berlin.  You will be in a good starting location for a good taste of Germany.

In Hamburg, you should take a Harbor tour and visit the Reepperbahn.  Club Indra is completely remodeled but is famous for the Beatles playing there and it is just a short side street from the Reeperbahn.  If you like more modern music, Molotow is a great club to visit.  I actually saw the Killers play here during my only visit to Hamburg.

Berlin is great, I really enjoyed the Museuminsel.  I generally like art museums and the Bode is great but I preferred the Pergamon Meuseum.  The Pergamon altar is a massive structure depicting the battle of the gods and the titans, it is from Roman times.  Also at Pergamon is the Ishtar Gate, you have to see it to believe it.  Last on the Insel, you can find the Neus Museum and it shows a lot of Egyptian sculptures and artworks.  When I was there I saw the bust of Nefertiti, I think it's a permanent exhibit.  The Germans certainly collected a lot of art and antiquities over the years and it is probably only a matter of time before some of these things are given back.

There are a lot of other places worth seeing in Berlin, I liked the TV Tower in East Berlin.  It has amazing views of the city and you can see the clear difference between east Berlin and west Berlin architecture.  The Check Point Charley Museum is fun to see as well.    You have a lot to see in Hamburg but Berlin will not be a mistake.  The train ride is great if you take the ICE train, just buy a coach ticket and sit in the dinning car drinking some German beer and watch the countryside go by at 200 mph.  Good luck.

This is certainly not a…

This is certainly not a course that is easy to get on, you're going to need to know somebody to get on the Downs.  If you are able to walk-on, I'll trade you a couple of rounds at Point of the Woods for a round.

This is a good suggestion…

This is a good suggestion for reasonable priced golf on solid courses.  I live in Paw Paw and play the group or Gull Lake courses annually, I especially enjoy Stonehedge North and South.

If you make the trip over to the west side, my first suggestion is Heritage Glenn, it is is tremendous condition for a little known course.  I would also suggest Lake Michigan Hills, has hosted many qualifiers to the Western Am., it's out near Coloma Mi.  If you want to DM me, we can arrange a day on Point of the Woods and The Dunes Club.  These are not public but both are spectacular courses.

I've played Harbor Shores a few times but it's not my favorite.  It has some spectacular views but Jack created some very gimmicky greens.  Good Luck on your trip, you're going to find some great courses for sure.

And the Saudi fund will…

And the Saudi fund will still have the major decision making control in the new agreement.  Anyone that doesn't think it's about the money should take note, it sounds like those with the money get to do what they want in the end.  Pretty sad to see a foreign country buy a major league in the US. (minor major)

Is it development or…

Is it development or motivation for Hunter?   He seems to be coasting at times, when he cares he is effective.  This team around him and the defense they play is pathetic.  Hunter is getting NIL and he doesn't have the greatest NBA prospects, doesn't sound like a great reality for our best player.  I don't feel sorry for him and I will concede getting up for Penn State can't be easy.  He should drop 25 and 12 boards on this team with any support shooting.

Reed will be the real test because, lets face it, Juwan isn't going anywhere this year.  My disappointment is over the overall defense, we can't stay in front of a statue at this point.

I thought the kid played…

I thought the kid played great and EMU should make some noise in the MAC as well as make the tourney.  I watched this same EMU team play WMU here in Kalamazoo last year and I can tell you this is a much different EMU team.

Regarding Emoni, I'm not sure I would go as far as saying "Pleasant Demeanor" however.  I saw immaturity and an inability to express himself in a "Pleasant" manner.  You saw his in your face yelling and little dance moves.  He appeared to be giving Jett two thumbs up after a big dunk, really wanting to express himself but I thought it was just dumb.  I can see why some may not be fully on the Emoni Bates wagon at this point.

I really like Emoni as a player and I want to see him succeed but he has some growing up to do.  Then again, I will admit that I am Get Off My Lawn Guy when it comes to celebrations/trash talk.  I much prefer  celebrating with your teammates vs. getting in the competition's face.  Michigan was clearly motivating Emoni, he wanted to show Juwan and the rest of UM that he is a player.  Can he do this night after night in the MAC?  I can absolutely see how someone may ask that question.

Give me a dominant running…

Give me a dominant running game!  I'm probably showing my age but I prefer a result like last Saturday vs. throwing the ball around the yard.  It's just so demoralizing to have someone run up and down the field while o-line pushing you around.  My son's team runs a wing T in high school and they throw the ball a max of 3-4 times in a game, it doesn't matter though because they can run the ball and win far more than they lose.

My favorite quote, I attribute it to Bo but I'm not sure who said it.  "We didn't throw the ball because we could run the ball."  This makes perfect sense to me.

You might get one dinner at Mendy's for that one but no way I would go two.

The writer was certainly blunt, one game and asking for more winning.

I couldn't get through all…

I couldn't get through all the comments, so these may have already been named but my top three are these:

  1. My Wish by Rascal Flatts - I'm a father that loves his children and the message in the song is one I am always trying to live up to and convey to my children.
  2. In Color by Jamie Johnson - My grandfather was my hero and this song reminds me of him every time I hear it.
  3. Don't Take the Girl by Tim McGraw - The song has no relation to a life event except to say that it reminds me of how important my wife and children are to me.

Great OT, pretty deep topic and it brought a tear to my eye just thinking about these songs.  I was surprised how quickly these songs came to mind and they are all country songs.  I am a fan of all types of music from Heavy Metal to Frank Sinatra but I'm obviously a sucker for a country song story.

Isaiah Collier please!  He has an unbelievable handle and his shot has nice rotation.  I like the size as well, this is a man already.

First time I've logged in just to downvote a comment, it's a lot of work.

This was a team that was playing without a 3 and relied very heavily on Freshmen.  They were never going to compete for a championship of any kind this year.  I just hope they can get in and make it to the first weekend, that will be win for this team.  I hope Hunter comes back next year.  Whether you noticed it or not, he has been steadily improving and could be the first team All Big 5 next year.

I'm with you, good for the…

I'm with you, good for the kid.  He's getting paid.

I'm just wondering how good WWade feels now to be able to ask a couple of boosters to step up and purchase some $75K autographs from the kid, knowing that it's "legal". Right out in the open, no more hiding behind plausible deniability....wait, he didn't care then did he?

Of course who can forget, "Here's a quarter, why don't you go down town and have a rat gnaw that thing off of your face."

Will be there at 7:30 am, RV lot at Pioneer.  Last year was the first time in 8 years not making it to the game. I am looking forward to grilled shrimp and rib eye steak.  Maybe a barley soda and some apple crown,  I have been to all the games at UM but started traveling to Cbus just to make sure I'm there when we finally win again.

.  It's strange to say that I missed seeing my Buckeye friends due to the pandemic.  Yeah they are far more likely to enjoy the outcome Saturday  but they almost seam to feel guilty for winning so much.  I was never so gracious during the Cooper years.

Thanks for putting your…

Thanks for putting your thought on the board.  I'm a little older and have a bit more "get off my lawn" in me but in principle, I feel the way you feel.  I have went from having season tickets for 30 years (my first year was Ricky Leach's senior season), to going to one or two games each year from (2010 to 2017) and now I don't really care if I go.  I am sick of the way I'm treated in the stadium with all of the breaks in action and the TV broadcast is the same, 4 hours of commercials with short breaks for football.

Things change, I get it, but if college football is going the way of the SEC, it's going to do it without fans like myself.  Pay the players, that's fine but I don't see college football ever putting the fans higher up the priority list.  I have more disposable income than at any point in my life and I am spending far less on Michigan football than ever before.  I don't feel like I'm alone.

I can't say anything to make…

I can't say anything to make things better or clearer for you, so I have nothing ground breaking to say here.  I just wanted to add to the many in the MGOBLOG community wishing you well and thank you for the hours of entertainment you have provided.  I very much appreciate all your work on the site and I hope you find the answers to give you "Hope" again.

Wow, nice get and what a…

Wow, nice get and what a name!  Rutger sounds manly, a dude from the word go.  Always good to stick it to the Irish as well.  The hockey team seems to have it all, great recruiting, great coaching and good performance on the ice.  Quietly pushing basketball for the most worthwhile watch.

Side note:  I was pulled into this thread because it looked like "fake news".  My first thought was Boaty McBoatface when I saw the title.

I grew up in the heart of…

I grew up in the heart of the Irish Hills on Wamplers Lake, so UM was basically the local team.  My dad was/is a Spartan fan and my grandfather was a Michigan grad/fan.  My fandom started watching the few UM games that would be on tv with my grandparents while listening to Ufer on the radio.  The excitement of the call and the performance of the team was intoxicating as a young boy.  MSU was rarely on TV and was the only other option for me because of my dad's fandom.  In the end UM was the winner of my loyalty because of the shared experiences with my grandfather.

I'm most certainly dating myself but my first game was the '78 loss to MSU, I was 10 years old.  My dad took me to the game so he could see his boy Kirk Gibson.  At the time,  you could take beer into the game.  He got pretty rowdy and half in the bag all while cheering for Gibson and company.  It was a crushing defeat for me and watching my dad celebrate with the other Sparty fans in the stands that day was miserable.  After that day my UM fandom was sealed, I was never going to be a Spartan supporter.

My most memorable game for the wrong reasons was the same game, '78 MSU.  I've seen more than a 100 games in the stadium over the past 40 years and there have been some great ones but the one that stands out as the most positive memory is the '97 OSU game.  Woodson was amazing, the team was great and I left that game 100% certain we would win the National Championship.

Now in my 50's, I can say my fandom is a deep as ever but I certainly don't suffer as much with the losses as I used to and I'm over needing to be in the stadium.  I'll take my son to one or two games a year but the game day experience today is so bad compared to the days before commercial breaks after every 4 plays.

This has been my thought…

This has been my thought exactly, basically the University doesn't want to lose standing.  This results in trying to maintain an image vs. innovating to enhance the image.  The University does not care about the athletes and that message will eventually be understood loud and clear.

I like the IBM vs. Google point in the earlier post, this is what it looks like from the outside.  Time will tell, I'm hope I'm wrong.

Stuff like this makes me…

Stuff like this makes me question why I click on some of these threads on the board.  I cannot imagine the rabbit hole of Twitter and how so many here follow the world via Twitter.  All the fake BS must consumes hours of daily life for some addicted to Social Media.  This time could surely be used for something better, like say, real sex in a real bed (in a shower, on the floor, standing up...etc) with your wife or significant other.

To be fair, you got me to click so I gave a +1.  Hell, I even responded (2x's) which I rarely do these days.

Thanks for taking 5 extra…

Thanks for taking 5 extra seconds to make the whole premise false.  My first thought was recycling and sustainability as the reasons for cardboard beds.  Of course Sex gets more views and clicks, proven by this thread.

It was awesome to root for a…

It was awesome to root for a fellow Wildcat on my favorite basketball team.  What I most admire in the kid is the complete lack of drama with Austin.  Head down and go to work seems to be his philosophy,  I'm guessing that helped the team more than his 10 mpg accounted for on paper.

I wish the kid all the best.

As a fellow Wildcat graduate…

As a fellow Wildcat graduate from way back, I could reach out to a few people to speak with Becky (Austins' mother) but I think I can confidently say "No", there are no more plans for the Davis basketball pipeline at Onsted.

The younger Davis has a handle for his size, still needs to fill out a little but height is not going to be an issue.

Austin wants to be a physical therapist last I knew and he has a Masters already.  Maybe coaching is in his future, he is a super bright young man.  I would love to see him come back, he's the pride of Onsted at this point.

I must be the other person…

I must be the other person that doesn't know.  Even listening to Sam and Ira daily, it seemed like a well known reason as to why he wasn't with the team but we couldn't talk about it for some reasons.

I bet you get some sarcasm on your question however, because everyone else seems to know exactly what went on there.  Oh well.

TE?

TE?

I couldn't resist.  Sorry if someone else already answered but I don't care enough to read the entire thread about the guy who probably should have been second or third string from week one.

Very thorough and well…

Very thorough and well thought out.  I think it is simple, it comes down to Warde Manuel and how he feels.  I would like to think he is sitting Jim down and giving him some kind of mandate to show improvement.

If I'm honest, I think Warde is probably more cheerleading than anything and is in Jim's corner.  It's frustrating from my point of view.

I think this is what Jim is, good coach, not great.  He's good for 8-10 victories a year and who knows, maybe he'll get lucky and get a generational QB to put him over the top.  I don't see it in the near future.  10 years ago, I would be melting down and wanting him fired.  Today, I'm writing off the season to Covid and looking forward to a competitive basketball team.

You got me man!  I was…

You got me man!  I was certain that Don Brown had been hired to coach UConn.  Damn you Alex Cora.

Those are some big shoes to fill but I will give him a chance.  I like what I've heard from Jansen on the podcasts and Michigan shows.  I love the thought of him parking in Valenti's parking spot, what is that toad going to say?

I have to say, I miss Jamie on the show, that was one sharp cat and I actually cared about NW because of Jamie.  In his honor I'm getting my plumbing checked, I don't think I'm the only listener that is taking his fight with cancer as a warning.

I listen for about an hour…

I listen for about an hour each day live and then the other segments I pick-up via the podcast.  C. Ross is always a must listen in my opinion and yes, this week's hour was really good.

I agree, he deserves an appreciation thread. You got my plus.

He'll be slightly better than Joe Montana at his peak but he' no Goat!

I'm holding out for Warren Moon like performance when he was at Washington, that dude had a cannon arm.

Reality says, prove it on the field.  I am hoping for slightly better than Shea with a better sense of when to keep the damn ball on the zone read.

Probably more paraphrasing but I'm thinking back to Bacon's book about Bo and the facilities when he arrived.

I have a few nails in my basement wall that make this fitting for my Man Cave.

I wish I had beer

Welcome aboard, plenty of…

Welcome aboard, plenty of room for a fellow Michigan fan on the bandwagon.  I'm a longtime fan, Lampard (now manager of Chelsea) was my favorite player for a long time.

I attended my first EPL game back in 2001.  A Derby County fan took me to the game against Chelsea in Derbyshire and Chelsea drew that day 1:1.  It was great to hear the vitriol toward Chelsea after, you would have thought Derby County won the EPL championship that day with the draw.  I was hooked watching a young Lampard play a great second half.

I lived in Europe for about 6 years and I must say, there isn't much love for Chelsea outside of Stamford Bridge.  The high point of my Chelsea fandom was attend the 2011 Champions League Final in Munich and watching Chelsea somehow win in a penalty shoot out.  I was with a Bayern fan and it was difficult to be toe loud in support of Chelsea or risk an act of violence.  I have never been to a Super Bowl but I cannot imagine the energy can hold a candle to what I witnessed that night.

The only feeling that will top that night in Munich is Michigan finally winning a college football playoff game.  I hope that is sooner rather than later.

Go Blues!

I had my first beer with my…

I had my first beer with my dad at 15 or 16 years old.  Was on a fly-in fishing trip in Canada.  I thought it was great, mostly because we were a couple miles into the Canadian wilderness and beer was the only cold drink in the camp during a heatwave.

I do believe in alcoholism, my dad was a drunk and is more than 25 years sober.  I drink 4 to six beers each week, I can tie one on maybe once a month or so.  My problem with alcohol is that I am an avid home brewer and I like the science project of making good beer.  I am the guy to see for everyone's favorite type of beer, Free Beer. I give away about 30 to 40% of what I make to keep bottles empty to refill with the next batch.  I can be pretty popular with the neighbors.

the words "Champagne Room"…

the words "Champagne Room" come to mind.

For our family the answer is…

For our family the answer is Yes, we like the air fryer.

I have a growing 15 year old and he is able to use it safely to cook his tater tots and fries or pizza snacks safely.  He's been using it for at least two years now and is somewhat of an expert with it.  Along with the Microwave it has given him some independence and my wife and I don't have to use the oven or stove to make his food when his growing body calls.

Some foods don't taste as good as were they were cooked in oil (FF and Tots) but they are pretty good and the health benefits outweigh the taste differences.  We don't have an indoor deep fryer anyway, they're such a PIA to clean.  My wife loves to fry Kale in our air fryer, she serves it as a side for steak or ribs and I have to admit it's the only way I like Kale.

As for size and model, I can't tell you.  Our neighbors told us about the benefits for their sons and we bought one spur of the moment at Costco one day.  Good luck.

My house, 8 to 10 Times  a year.  I have been dry aging beef for the past 6 years and I have a a  whole cooking process that begins with a 700 degree sear.  I find 35 to 45 days to be the sweet spot, I once aged a rib roll for 110 days and it was a little on the funky side but it was still tasty.

I love Morton's, Ruth's Chris,  St. Elmos...etc but I can't afford to be a regular so I did my homework and learned to age and prepare steaks properly.   Besides, my homebrew beer pairs well with steak.

Not a long list, I'm sorry…

Not a long list, I'm sorry to say.

Football:  East Lansing Bleachers, Penn State Farmlands, West Lafayette in blazing heat, Northwestern lake side, and Bloomington.  Big House.

Basketball:  Jenison Fieldhouse (great barn); Bloomington; and Chrysler Arena.

I consider myself veteran young guy at 51 years but to be honest, I"m getting up there and I don't anticipate radically expanding this list.

Infamous Titan nation, you…

Infamous Titan nation, you guys were the DarthVader of football when I was in High School.  I have to admit they had some good teams, I used to go Withington for Saturday games after our Friday night games and watch Christi play whoever.  They brought in schools from all over the state and it was good football.  The uni's look too much like ND for my taste, I never could get behind a private school that looked like that.  Good football program without any doubt.

Growing up, I went to a…

Growing up, I went to a small school that's claim to fame was beating Detroit Country Day when Monte Clark's son played for them (who is Monte Clark? showing my age).  We did manage to send a player to Mich BB, Austin Davis is also from Onsted.  Onsted has been all over the map from great (lost in State Championship game) to awful (2 years without a win in late 70's).  I was in HS in the Mid 80' and in that time we began to win on a consistent basis, I finished 8-1 as a junior and 6-3 as a Senior.  Of course, we never sniffed playoffs because, well, I'm old.

Currently, I'm living in Paw Paw and of course Carson Barnhardt recently enrolled to play for UM football.  The team seems to be consitently good, they do take a yearly beating from Edwardsburg.  Outside of that they've been pretty good for the last 15 years.

Truly a sad day.  First,…

Truly a sad day.  First, thoughts and prayers go to his family.  Jerry Stiller had an immeasurable influence on a generation in his role as Frank Costanza.  I'll never forget his rivalry with the Seinfelds but "stopping short" will forever be my favorite move.  What would Festivus be without Frank?  I'll be watching some Seinfeld this week.

Absolutely, I would go.

My…

Absolutely, I would go.

My friend and I are still planning on buying tickets, just in case a treatment or vaccine is found.  Our thinking being it's unlikely this game is going to take place at this time but it's worth a chance.  Ticket prices haven't dropped dramatically over the last three weeks, so I assume I'm not alone in this thinking.

I was at the game the last time we played the Huskies in Seattle, it was a great weekend. (except for the loss)
