Whilst not money laundering,…

Whilst not money laundering, look at Stephen Ross buying a $3 million dollar property, donating it to the U a year and a half later, then writing it off as a $30 million dollar property which the U then sold for $1.5 million.

Mega fraudulent.

Be sure to bring pepto…

Be sure to bring pepto bismol tablets in case you have some GI distress during the game. This is especially relevant if you get to a bar at 10AM and hang out there until the game.

That and his dad moving to…

That and his dad moving to Michigan stuck out to me as major red flags for his dad.

I'm old enough to remember…

I'm old enough to remember when "Hot Takes" were something that the bloggists made fun of the traditional talking heads for and instead did levelheaded analysis of the team. Seth seems to just spout out 2-3 new ones every week during the season. It was pretty clear during the game that Mullings was a much more natural fit at RB than LB but the Jerome Bettis stuff was just silly - 230 lbs is plenty of 'thunder'.

The hot takes segment of the pod is great since it's a joke.

Seth, you say your covers…

Seth, you say your covers are not cursed and yet you photoshop cracks onto the team's MVP's knees...

This is a misconception I…

This is a misconception I see repeated all over the internet. For 2020 they stated that their production capacity was 650k and they ended up making less that 500k cars. And their production wasn't shut down 25% of the year due to COVID either.

Devin Bush on special teams was too much fun to watch.

This seems to be a big chunk of the issue. Based on personnel, this doesn't look too different from a Beilein coached team prior to the defensive renaissance of the last few years.

Thankfully, Michigan can…

Thankfully, Michigan can offer other advantages such as: Not coaching at rutgers, winning conference games, etc.

Yeah my line of thinking is…

Yeah my line of thinking is that if you separate the scandal, program, and school you're ignoring how these kind of tragic events occur.

While the sign is definitely off color, I don't think it does anything to diminish the victims.

Lastly, I disagree with equating the Nassar with the Gibbons scandals. While the AD's handling of the Gibbons expulsion left much to be desired, the crimes and coverups were orders of magnitude different.

I sat next to him on a plane…

I sat next to him on a plane one time and he seemed quite charismatic and nice, which make sense knowing his reputation as a recruiter.

Honestly I think it comes…

Honestly I think it comes from the other side - Sam is stanning for the program to ensure he retains access to those guys. I totally get why he does it but letting it devolve into what happened is 1) bad radio and 2) unprofessional.

Similarly, I'm on Brian's side of the Borges takes but you gotta know not to shit where you eat and let it go. WTKA wants people to listen to both the roundtable and the Captain & Coach segments, and if you're on their program you can't go off like that.

My take on the Harbaugh vs. Gattis offense: before the season, Gattis said no FB, no 6OL sets, period. So at a minimum short yardage is definitely coming from Harbaugh/Warriner. Regardless of whether or not Bama ran pin & pull last year, a significant portion of why it works here is that the players repped it a lot last year.

Now this is how you Title a…

Now this is how you Title a post. Now if only people can revolt like when that Italian football team hired Art Briles (to be fair Pitino's deeds pale in comparison to Briles's).

They also had a Garbage OL going into the season, returning basically no quality starters.

I guess I'm the only one who felt like going for it was a fine call. Similar deal with Texas last night, odds say you should go for it, sometimes it doesn't work out.

I tried to watch both…

I tried to watch both tackles, Mayfield seemed to be a bit worse off in pass pro than Hayes, though Onwenu didn't have a great game and that probably didn't help Mayfield. I will be interested to see how UFR run grades go.

it's kinda silly but I wanted to buy an american mower, so I went with the Toro. I also made sure to get the one with the Honda engine, and I'm 99% certain only the riding mowers are made in the states so it's dubious to call it an american product.

Regardless I went with Toro push mower, honda engine, aluminum deck, rear wheel drive & personal pace speed control (which is awesome). I've never had to pull the starter more than twice to get it going and it's built quite solidly.

Did we break Brian Lewerke in this game or did that happen prior to our matchup? Just flipped it on and he looks horrid.

Saw it at the Michigan…

Saw it at the Michigan theater a couple weeks ago - it was a fun atmosphere to watch a fun and interesting movie. I wish they would have gotten more into the personal side of the Russians that came over but the film focused a lot on the Red Wings and their journey to the 97 cup. Still would recommend highly as a wings fan.

I'm rooting for the lack of commercials. It felt great to actually be watching a football game.

I agree with Craig Ross's…

I agree with Craig Ross's take on the Faehn hiring - If the AD was right to hire her in the first place then you have to come out and say that. Even if you defer to the regents and end up canning her you can't come out and say what they did, that they made a mistake in hiring her. You have to know that there is going to be some backlash coming and be able to come forward and defend the hire, which the AD clearly wasn't prepared to do.

Personally, I think that anyone involved in USA gymnastics should be blacklisted - no matter the tenure. I have no evidence to back it up, but I feel like it would be Naive to think that Nassar is the only bad actor that has been covered up within USAG. It's a little bit of tin-foil hat-ism, but with how egregious the offenses Nassar committed were, I believe there has to be other things more minor that were swept under the rug as well.

The Nate Silver quote sounds…

The Nate Silver quote sounds like a Trumpism, which is not a great sign if it comes out of a normal person's mouth.

It should also be noted that the NET ranks Loyola Marymount at 10, and they're at 120 in Kenpom. Stuff like this can be weird with small sample sizes but that's not a great sign.

He doesn't owe Houston or Applewhite a damn thing.

I once sat on a plane next…

I once sat on a plane next to Greg Mattison when he was heading home from a recruiting visit. after about 20 minutes of conversation we started to do some work on the plane, but before doing so he threw in a big lip of skoal, and proceeded to not spit anything for the duration of the flight. He must have an iron stomach.

Though annoying to watch…

Though annoying to watch repeatedly, I have a hard time faulting the safeties on those slants. They're lined up 5 yds off the LOS and a yard outside. Their alignment allows them to 1) keep an eye on the box to read run/pass & 2) funnel things back to their safety help inside. you prevent these slants by dropping a LB (or DE) or bringing the FS down in a robber zone. W/o bringing the FS up to help the run you're giving up that inside route.

TBD

We'll see in a couple of days whether this ages like OU's backup QB calling tOSU's defense "basic"

But...

the building was sold by the university to Ross's Laywers at less than market value - that seems pretty fishy to me.

Yeah it's gonna be dumb

I'm not wasting my money watching something that has a slightly higher credibility than WWE

Josh Uche's twitter is the same way

I think we're reading into this a bit too much

About Point 1

I was in school 09-13, had some guys come in for a guest lecture that made an ultra high efficiency vehicle for a competition. They went through the basic math that showed that the eMPG listed on EV stickers are inflated if you want to look at the carbon footprint. the example they showed gave an estimate for the carbon footprint of nissan Leaf (~80 eMPG) as ~30 if you look at the carbon footprint. the crux of the issue is that the eMPG is based on energy output from the battery, but doesn't account for the line losses & thermal (in)efficiency of the power plant.

Trust in Don Brown

Seeing what DB has done at schools with much less talent gives me a lot of hope for this years defense. I think it's understated how complex the D is due to all the moving parts, and more time in the system means that less experienced player will be more comfortable leaving them in a decent spot to make plays. Even though our D was dominant last year there were plenty of blown coverages that I think can be mitigated by more time in the system. Losing NFL talent counts is a big loss, but confidently knowing where to be goes a long way on D. Just like the Harbaughization of the offense is still taking shape, the same is occuring on defense.

Even if a plea deal is reached

It is normal that immediately after being charged (at arraignment / pre-trial hearings) you plead not guilty. You can always change from not guilty to guilty if you reach a deal with the prosecutor, but you can't go back if you plead guilty.

This whole situation is bad

I hate to say it, as bad as things are I'm guessing that things are going to get worse before they get better. Talking to my friend who works for the state police in Lansing, evidently they talked to the folks who investigated the Sandusky stuff at penn state. I don't think these will be the last 20 to add their names to this list. The whole situation is sickening.
