OT - How are you watching mayweather vs mcgregor?

Submitted by O S Who on

Hey everyone,

just sneaking this in before 11:59 :) Who plans to watch the fight and how are you watching?

$99 is pretty steep, and I am considering VPNing to canada and getting it for cheaper there (according to this site at least)

Anyone else have thoughts on doing so?  Anyone have any VPNs they would suggest?

Note: $12 in canada on that site

UPDATE ----

I ended up getting this VPN for 6.95 (will cancel it tomorrow):

https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/

Then i installed their software and selected to connect to their server in france.  Opened my browner went to this link:

https://www.ufc.tv/events

Got the fight for 29 euros.  I imagine the stream quality will be better and more reliable than streaming illegally, so went this route.  Well find out what language options I have tonight I guess.

When I watch the fight I will first try to NOT be VPN'd in and see if they will let me log into the US website.  At this time I am able to login to the US website too, and the videos are all in english.

Just thought I would let anyone know who might be somewhat interested in watching, but not enough to dish out $99

Note: I also dont care about the fight, but it seems like a fun thing to watch.

I'm not watching it. Mayweather will kick that UFC dude's ass in the dullest imaginable fashion. UFC dude won't touch him and Mayweather will remain in a defensive shell and jab, jab, jab his way to victory. Add to that the fact that they are both awful, terrible human beings and the true losers of that fight will be all the poor folks who paid money to see it.

Very, very well put. I'm a boxing diehard and I pay for fights all the time (including the Mayweather-Pacquiao stinker). But this is a bridge too far. Come on, MacGregor has no business being in the ring. Hell, some folks from the NYSAC (I think) came out this week and suggested Nevada shouldn't even have sanctioned the fight!

I think Floyd will win but this is nonsense talk. People act like they're putting a golfer in there with Floyd. Conor is a fighter he can take a punch and kicks and can box as well. Obviously not as good as Floyd but to act like he is a total fish out of water is silly. There was none of this concern when James Toney crossed over to take a fight in the ufc.

he might not, floyd is one of if not the greatest of all time but this idea that mcgregor is gonna get battered and have his life on the line is pure fanatasy  floyd doesn't generate enough power to put that kind of hurt on someone. personally i think mcgregor makes it interesting for the first 4 rounds maybe even steals a round off floyd but he will begin to fade. i got floyd by tko in the 9th round but it will be from mcgregor gassing out and floyd just continuind to throw punches. don't think itll be espescially brutal just think the ref will call it off early in the 9th.

I don't think it is. If they were to street fight, I'd put money on McGregor, but not when they're actually boxing. McGregor will lose, badly, and it'll be extremely boring to watch because Mayweather will just get in his defensive shell and not come out of it. I hate watching him fight.

This is purely an exhibition.  Floyd is going to toy with McGregor and collect his check.  If anyone doubts that Floyd will do just enough to win on points, I have a strip club to sell you.

VPN (Virtual Private Network), it's when you connect to some other network or PC (like connecting your home PC to your work's network or even your work PC to be able to work from home) ...I think what he's talking about doing is using a VPN to try to make it look like he's in Canada where the fight is aparently cheaper

Kodi is the platform and there are various "builds" that offer different programming. I use the Wookie build which combines dozens of smaller builds like Covenant (used to be Exodus), Bob, Maverick, UK Turk, etc. There isn't a show or movie that I haven't been able to find. For boxing, the sports section of Bob has everything from live PPV fights (streamed Canelo Alvarez and Amir Khan last year) to any other historic fight. I'll be unjustifiably irked if it fails me tonight.

I'm not. Not paying $100 to watch a sport I couldn't care less about, starring two guys who seem like less than stellar human beings, for what may be an incredibly short event.

Mayweather is going to toy with McGregor tomorrow night.
