I've had season tickets for…

I've had season tickets for over 20 years.  Before last year I told my 2 sons (age 21 and 25) that I wasn't going to renew, but if they wanted the tickets, they could split the games and I'd buy 2 games to go with each one of them.  They were good with that.  This year, they were unsure- youngest is a junior in college, oldest a second year teacher with a baby on the way.  I suggested selling the OSU tickets.  We put them for sale for $699/each on Super Bowl weekend.  Sold in 2 days.  Should have asked for $899 per.  The sad part is the $699 won't even cover the cost of the season and the seat license....Unless they get better non-conference games, the ticket cost is too high in my opinion (my seats = $1600 with license for the pair).

Did you say, "Hi" to Harbaugh?  He was there too.

My question is:  if a 3rd round pick is all that was needed for Jalen Ramsey, why didn't the Lions try to get him?  Seems like he was gotten for cheap and the Lions need a cornerback or three badly

I was listening to the HUGE…

I was listening to the HUGE show.  I know, I know....not a fan either but it was after the OSU game and I figured he'd have a bunch of Wolverine talk.  He interviewed Chris Balas and they discussed some NIL things.  I could have sworn that Balas said he "talked to people in the know" who had a goal of getting JJ $2 million for next year for NIL $.  I was shocked, but it kind of goes with Harbaugh's theme of, "If you come here and are successful, you'll do just fine with NIL money."

curious...how did you get tickets?  I looked and they are sold out?

Never been there and have…

Never been there and have visited Chicago many times.  Would like to try something new that is drivable.  We live near Grand Rapids, so Indy is not too far by car.

If you look at the first…

If you look at the first picture with Houstan shooting the ball- you can see why he's struggling.  His knees are coming together, he's not squared up (facing the free throw line and not the basket), and the ball looks like it's over the left eye, not the right.  I'm not a pro, but I do coach shooting to beginners.  Maybe it was just a quick set-up?....

I get off Ann Arbor Saline…

I get off Ann Arbor Saline from 94 (exit 175).  Turn left and go to the first subdivision left (Woodlark maybe?).   It's a little over a mile walk (used my Apple Watch).   After the victory, walk back to car and easy on to Ann Arbor Saline since they make it a 1 way after the game and you are turning right.  94 is less than a mile- piece of cake.  Do it every home game.  Always laugh at the people paying $30 100 yards from my free spot.

Always wanted a Redline…

Always wanted a Redline yellow Saturn Skye.  Kind of looks like a small Corvette.  Maybe I'll find one when I move to Florida....

Someone help me out:  what exactly do these "points" get anyone?  I have 79 points currently and never have used points or gotten anything for these points

Right now he's concentrating…

Right now he's concentrating on the hoops team.  He's got DeJulius up next (for a second time).  He also is working on getting all the committed high schoolers on.  I'll ask Toby about Spanellis.  Might be interesting to hear his take.

I know the owner quite well…

I know the owner quite well.  I grew up not 100 yards from this house, but when I was in the neighborhood, the owner wasn't in this house.  I've never been inside.  He's a life-long bachelor.  I think I'll have to get a hold of him to see if he wants to sell some stuff!

Last week my son interviewed walk-on hoops player Luke Wilson.  He was also well spoken

Your team could have played…

Your team could have played man for a while.  Zones are extremely effective in middle school girls hoops, but zone doesn't teach good defense.  The other team probably had to heave up 3s all day and couldn't even get them to the hoop.  Most high schools don't play a bunch of packed in zones because the other team will hit the 3s.  To me, beating a team by that much and sitting in a zone is unsportsmanlike.  Just my opinion.  (and no, you shouldn't let them make a point on purpose).

Your team could have gone…

Your team could have gone man-to-man to at least give them a shot to score.  The other team probably had no choice but shoot 3s and they probably couldn't even get them to the hoop.  Not saying you should let them score, but I wonder why you play a zone exclusively.  Zones don't really teach good defense.  Yes, at the 7th grade level, zones are very effective, but man-to-man concepts need to be taught also.

If you really want to be scared, read Helter Skelter or The Onion Field.  Helter Skelter, of course, is the Manson family story.  The Onion Field is another true story that will scare the crap out of you.  Scary because it's true that there are people that evil out there in the world.

Anthony Carter was terribly…

Anthony Carter was terribly underutilized.  He was the best receiver in college football and never had a 1,000 yard season.  Look up his youtube highlights some time.

Some highlights if you don't…

Some highlights if you don't want to listen to the 30 minute interview:

- He was born in a refugee camp during a civil war in West Africa

- His mom moved his family to Providence, RI to escape the war when he was a baby

- His mom worked 3 jobs to provide for her family

-His brother is going to New Mexico State on a football scholarship

-He was committed to Boston College until Michigan (and Don Brown) showed interest.

- He wants to go into law enforcement after football.

Seems like the kind of player that makes you glad he's on your team!

Thank-you and yes I am very proud of him.  He has interviewed about a quarter of the team.  Kwity Paye's interview was also great.  I never knew the story of his childhood and his amazing mom.  I think the players enjoy talking to someone their age, not some old guy my age.  Oh, and Tcb is my son's nickname.

I always liked Tripp because he went to my cousin's high school.  She said he was a pretty cool guy.  She was also buddies with Danny Manning.  My Grandma would visit them from Grand Rapids and she had no idea about sports but she did say, "That Danny is a really nice young man!".

I was there sitting in the student section because students weren't there yet.  Too early in the year.  Michigan looked horrible most of the game and turned it on at the end.  I remember Tiki and Ronde Barber played for Virginia.

And wow...it was hot!

I particularly liked the…

I particularly liked the part about specialization.  Kids (and parents) now a days just play one sport, thinking that's the way to get a scholarship.  Then the author shows how almost all of the guys drafted this year played multiple sports in high school.

Also had to laugh at the "signings" on social mediato Division 3 programs.  My son had several friends who pretended to sign a LOI to a Division 3 college.

Depends on when you get to…

Depends on when you get to pick.  #1-3 are easy- top 3 RB.  Then...what to do about Zeke.  Adams or Hopkins?  Joe Mixon?  Good rbs on bad teams make me worried.  Lots of interesting choices this year.

One of my 2 leagues has a Superflex this year.  Might make drafting a bit more interesting....

Funny to see Jay Riemersma throwing Amani his first touchdown.  I had forgotten he was a QB in high school.  Looking at him in the video, looks like he took a few vitamins over the next year or so to get into TE weight
