Is being the #56 FB recruiting class…good?
Michigan’s 2025 football recruiting class is currently ranked #56 on 247. Is Michigan struggling to get bites in the wake of the coaching turnover or waiting patiently to lure in the big fish? I suspect the latter as when you just look at how many 4 and 5* (usual caveats apply) are committed, Michigan is inside the top 25. Still, several of our rivals are more than halfway done. Is anyone panicking?
Yes. But I panic easily.
Maybe, but I'm non-comittal.

I only Panic at the Disco...
Uncertainty on the Connor debacle would be my guess. You know other schools are negative recruiting the hell out of that.
To sparty and bucknut fans' dismay, absolutely nothing will come out of signgate...except for allowing radios in helmets.
During the season last year? Sure. But by now no one outside of Sparty and OSU fans probably even remembers the guy or the 'scandal'.
Not just that, but Harbaugh leaving with half the staff would be concerning to me as a hs student.
I mean you can’t have it both ways though. Harbaugh leaving with the whole defensive staff would likely mean that any punishment from the NCAA is going to be nothing because the apparent involved parties are gone
Which is dumb in the new world of the transfer portal.
Not really. Many kids are in the transfer portal because things didn't work out at their previous school and a big part is the lack of playing time and riding the bench. The Portal is far from being a cure-all solution
I sure hope we don’t end up with three stars like Kenneth Grant or Kwity Paye!
Michigan has zero 3-star commits at this point …if they did I might guess they found some hidden gems
Can we hang a hundred (negs) on this poster and transfer them into oblivion?
No way. Committing to hanging 100 results in becoming a colossal failure.
I'm doing my part
Let us zero this guy out. I’m pretty sure he was over 300 points and is now down to about 100. Come on Mgoblog, do your part, neg this troll into sparty oblivion.

I just checked and they are down to one MGoPoint, singular. LOL.

Hey totally unrelated to your post on Michigan's recruiting struggles:
- Is a top 50-100 overall EDGE recruit committing good?

Please keep posting so I can keep neg-bombing you. It feels good.

I heard about a player named Mike Sainristil. I guess he was a three star and is no longer in the program. It sounds like he is looking to play on Sundays (not Saturdays) starting this fall.
Being the National Champions is good.
A lot of folks outside the Michigan fan base think the National Championship means Michigan has peaked and is already in decline as a program …I don’t think so myself, but is that the sense among recruits?
seriously, who urinated in your corn flakes this morning? stop. go for a walk. relax. get your mind off of whatever hyper-negative trash that has filled it. its going to be fine and we will be fine as a program. furthermore, even if that was not true, there is absolutely nothing you or any of us can do about it so don't spend too much time on what you can't change.
I’m optimistic ; just trying to make sense of the facts.
Facts: National Champs, three in a row over your guys
Looked at your posting history. Short and pretty much 100% troll. Are you a Sparty or an Ohio fan?
Spending time on what you can't change? That describes every sports fan in the world.
Not every. No.
Thank God too. Some of these people here aren't too tightly wrapped.
This is dumb on so many levels
it's terrible. we should probably forfeit the next couple of seasons and see if we can get something together for 2026 or beyond. there is no hope, abandon all pretense thereof, and sell your season tickets.
better now?
So you're saying the sky is falling?
Your posting history makes me wonder why you are here. Go be negative somewhere else.
The post wasn’t negative - the issue is factual and relevant and I hadn’t seen it discussed recently. I don’t follow the recruiting news closely so wondered if I missed come context
Wow...a LOT of comments about Connor Stalions! Definitely NOT a troll account.
Next time no need to be so obvious lol

Obvious troll is obvious.
Just make a comment next time and take your handful of downvotes for saying something stupid before making a post and getting negbanged so hard you have to make a new account.
This post seems inflammatory. But there are many wondering why recruiting is at a standstill. I don't think the "new coaches" argument is legit anymore. I do think teams are negatively recruiting us like crazy. Tons of kids have come in and said they loved it but not getting anyone to commit seems like there's some hurdles we're not clearing with the players. Some claimed that there was going to be a big buzz and commit group this past weekend... But that was wrong.
But you're not offering up any information or useful updates. So this is a little whiney with nothing to offer
Be prepared for a lot of Internet yelling in your direction
I think the "new coaches" argument is going to be a legitimate piece of the puzzle when you look at this recruiting class overall. UM went through a regime change (not as drastic as a whole new staff, but only 4 coaches returning is still drastic) and when you factor in that there was a delay in recruitment from the extended season coupled with the additional delay of the new coaches not being able to hit the recruiting trail until their hire was officially announced by the school (which is sometimes much later than when the news of the hire breaks), this program wasn't physically able to recruit during a lot of the months leading up to June. Not saying that this is the singular factor in recruiting, but this is a class that UM is going to have to play catch-up on a lot of recruitments.
Also, UM's approach of emphasizing relationships and cultural fit (as opposed to say other schools that see a recruit and just throw money at them) has a lot of upsides, but one of the downsides is that it takes time to cultivate relationships on the recruiting trail.
TLDR: I personally still think its appropriate to treat this is a coaching-change class even though it was an internal hire due to the massive amount of staff turnover and the time lost by getting the new staff hired and on the recruiting trail.

having 2 coaches get tossed for DUIs isn't helping either, lets be honest. Some of that turnover is self-induced.
Dunno.
I can't seem to locate my Magic 8-Ball.🎱
I'll fill in:
Ask again later.
While the headline probably deserves the negs it is getting - there is some legitimate discussion as to whether or not to worry about the shape of this recruiting class.
- Given the coaching change and turnover of so many assistants and support staff the lack of commitments isn't all that surprising.
- There is still plenty of time and opportunity out there for a very strong recruiting class.
- This seems like a staff that can and will recruit well.
- If the Marshall, Gach and Galloway ballz turn out to be correct the class vastly improves.
Watching closely, and rooting for coach Moore to get a serious commitment run going in the coming weeks. Let's check in on this regularly but with less snitty titles.
Agreed with all of these points. The reality is, that the coaching staff has just been finalized, and I don't think the staff has even been together for a whole month yet. Relationships with recruits are years long processes, and although we won it all, most recruits probably lost their primary recruiter.
However, it appears we are close with a few recruits and I imagine once we get one others will start to come. Marshall, Galloway, Williams, Gach all have Crystal Balls for use, and if they all commit we would be the 17th ranked class.
Something else to watch is the RB class with Alford as coach. Alford recruited WELL for Ohio State, and had some guys seemingly ready to commit to them.
You nailed it, Dunder.
Of course, there are going to be significant interruptions in recruiting from a near complete coaching staff change. It's a relationship activity, and it'll take time to build those. Fortunately, it's April.
jv02, 4/12, 11:15 A.M.:
Sure we were all eager to move past the CS thing, but you have to admit the occurrence of the whole scenario is disturbing and bizarre. Is Schembechler Hall fertile ground for more shenanigans or has it been sufficiently reformed. If so, how?
Sure, I'm cherry picking, and that was the juiciest cherry.
"fertile ground" is truly laugh out loud. Definitely educated at MSU or OSU...but hard to tell which!
