Harbaugh thinks he’s coaching in the NFL with conservative, keep it close, good D and win in the end football. It ain’t werkin!
September 21st, 2019 at 3:48 PM ^
Hire Urban Meyer....
He's scum, he wins. Listen to his analysis as a commentator...dude is a savant. Just have a male grad assistant quality and rules assistant follow him around 24-7.
I see our players hugging each other, traveling fans, and the opponents with huge smiles on their faces after the game. It's one thing to be humble and congratulate the victor, it's another to have no edge and not give a shit about getting hammered.
We should look down and pissed after a game like that, not joking around. Program has no edge or identity...even the announcers noticed it. Harbaugh has lost his fire, the players have followed suit.
Time to move on.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:28 PM ^
Anybody who thinks Urban Meyer would ever coach at Michigan is absolutely delusional. The man won't even refer to us as "Michigan" when he's working for Fox. It seems to pain him to even refer to us as "the Wolverines" instead of "that team up north". The guys has an absolute hatred for Michigan going back to when he was a kid. He would never coach here (not that the school would offer him in the first place, obviously).
September 21st, 2019 at 5:10 PM ^
I guarantee you if we give Urbz $7 Mil a year he will find it palatable to let the word Michigan find its way out of his mouth.
September 23rd, 2019 at 12:57 AM ^
He doesn’t need the money and he wouldn’t take the job.
The culture problem here starts with the batshit boosters who cook up spring break trips and want a gimmicky program. Urban isn’t going to put himself in the “Michigan Man” blender.
My hunch is Urban is back at OSU in 2021 and Day is coaching in the NFL. It might have been the plan all along. There is a reason Urban’s core guys stayed with the program and on staff. This is his sabbatical.
September 21st, 2019 at 9:13 PM ^
I was with you until your first sentence.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:48 PM ^
Actually, I feel slightly better after the second half -- the defense slowed Wisconsin down a bit and the offense managed to move the ball a little toward the end.
But that entire first half...woof!
September 21st, 2019 at 3:56 PM ^
That game was over at the half. A couple scores in garbage time, and Wisconsin just playing out the string, is hardly cause for optimism. But hey, how about that onside kick!
September 21st, 2019 at 4:00 PM ^
That's called garbage time.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:54 PM ^
Look, I'm not going to write off the season when MIchigan has two wins (no matter how unimpressive) and one loss. (No matter how ugly -- and I've witnessed uglier)
I'll say this though: if this team plays Rutgers the way they played in the first half today, they might very well lose. At that point, BPONE would be well justified.
September 21st, 2019 at 8:52 PM ^
They will look ok against Rutgers. They only look like shit playing someone decent.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:49 PM ^
I haven't seen a coaching staff refuse to use a talent advantage like we have at WR despite literally hiring a guy to run an offense around those players. This is incompetence on a level of Al Borges trying to use Denard Robinson as a pocket passer
September 21st, 2019 at 3:50 PM ^
Can someone confirm there was indeed coaching happening on the Michigan sidelines?
September 21st, 2019 at 3:50 PM ^
For me, it was something intangible I watched all game, and I was shocked to hear the announcers point it out at the end.
There was no fire. The passion level was not there. And they were playing dumb.
To me, that means the players have given up on this coach.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:53 PM ^
And postgame. No hanging heads. They don't give a shit anymore.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:02 PM ^
Please. If they had been hanging their heads and moping you'd say the same thing.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:01 PM ^
I kind of felt like there were shades of the 2011 Gator Bowl there. If the players have given up on the coach, you can't keep him, right? That's an auto-fire situation. And this is the first time I've ever taken that thought even kind of seriously.
September 21st, 2019 at 7:34 PM ^
Contrary to my user name, this is just a take from a random internet user, but I’ll voice it anyway: today looked like the team quit on Harbaugh. Third straight game against a team with a pulse that they’ve been boat-raced and I think the team has thrown in the towel on him. Harbaugh seems like the type of coach to me where if the team is winning everything is great (like any team) but his personality and coaching style aren’t going to garner much respect when the tough times hit. If you think I’m wrong, go watch the Amazon show from 17 and tell me what you think.
Lose by 1 or 50, the instant your team quits on you that should be the immediate end to any coach.
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:52 PM ^
Very Valid Point
September 21st, 2019 at 3:50 PM ^
I’d like Dylan to start and work towards developing this teams future. Hope coaches feel the same
September 21st, 2019 at 3:50 PM ^
We are soft. I like Bell Collins on offense.
Defense....Hudson not good
Hill not good
Where is our size in middle of defense.
It's our coaching . Jim please step away. If you love Michigan.....step away.
I said earlier Don Brown is very over rated by people on this blog .
Jim has to go.....if you want a national power. If you want 8 -10 win a season then keep him.
I want more. If that makes me wrong......I don't wanna be right.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:10 PM ^
Dylan going to need to start playing like he’s not made of titanium.
September 21st, 2019 at 6:51 PM ^
if JH wants to do himself any fuckin favors for as long as he is still here...Monday presser should start with “Dylan is our new #1”
he won’t though let’s be honest, it’s time to talk next HC options.
September 21st, 2019 at 11:57 PM ^
I think we're about to see a new floor here...8 wins is generous.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:50 PM ^
Harbaugh out there looking like Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys with his coke bottle glasses. He is and has been an absolute failure for this program and it’s time to cut bait.
September 22nd, 2019 at 8:39 AM ^
The fact that a post that states "He is and has been an absolute failure" gets upvotes is amazing to me. Does anyone remember RichRod or Hoke?
September 22nd, 2019 at 3:36 PM ^
Well, a post photoshopping Mike Leach in Michigan gear got 75 upvotes - on a night his team gave up 67 points at home to one of the worst teams in college football.
The hot take is strong today.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:50 PM ^
defensive coaching is an absolute joke. allowing our LBs to get continually blown up by guards in the middle of the line over and over and over and over again is pathetic.
offensive coaching ain't any better.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:57 PM ^
But the DL is the fastest ever!
September 21st, 2019 at 3:50 PM ^
Harbaughs times is coming to an end unfortunately I never thought I would say this
September 22nd, 2019 at 5:11 AM ^
I think today is the beginning of the end, which fucking sucks. I honestly thought the Harbaugh hot seat memes were absurd and completely out of sync with reality. But being totally pantsed today has really taken the shine off everything. Instead of 2017 being a shitty anomaly of otherwise 10 win seasons, it's really starting to look like 10 win seasons are the best we can ever hope for, with regular 7-8 win seasons every couple/few years.
I really don't think that is what any of us had in mind for Harbaugh at any point in his Michigan tenure. And if that's what we are going to get...
September 21st, 2019 at 3:50 PM ^
Humbling defeat. All you can do now is get ready for Rutgers fellas.
However, Michigan's schedule now looks brutal.
Games vs. Iowa, MSU, Notre Dame, @Maryland, @PSU and Ohio State could all easily be losses this year given current level of play, and no injuries.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:51 PM ^
OL and DL are simply outclassed...is it recruiting, is it coaching...I don’t know
Hard to do anything when both lines are vastly inferior at every level
September 22nd, 2019 at 12:00 AM ^
Not recruiting...Somebody said it on the board earlier today. 40 plus U of M players were for star or more, and Wisconsin had 9. We should be playing at least at a top 10-15 level, and we play so much worse. Chronic underachieving has to be on coaching and maybe upperclass leadership.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:51 PM ^
I feel bad for Woodson...we looked shitty and he has to sit up on a set and take it all in for the world to see.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:56 PM ^
Especially sitting next to Asshat Meyer.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:51 PM ^
Fire everyone
September 21st, 2019 at 3:52 PM ^
Just need one more Big Ten loss so I can quit watching. Homecoming might just be the day!
September 21st, 2019 at 3:52 PM ^
Charles Woodson just said he was embarrassed. Join the crowd.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:52 PM ^
WE WON THE SECOND HALF 14-7!!! THINGS AREN'T AS BAD AS THEY SEEM!!
(above is basically what we're going to hear from the JH apologists on this site in their rush to be perceived as rational and even keeled on the internet).
September 21st, 2019 at 6:46 PM ^
I don’t know if there are any apologists left. I was one for a long time, but it just looks like poor effort from a poorly coached team.
The sloppiness and mental errors continue in all three phases of the game. I’m struggling to find a single positive takeaway from a performance like this.
September 22nd, 2019 at 12:01 AM ^
"We put up 39 points, offense and JH and Pep aren't the problem."
It's all the problem. Something's got to get better or the program's gonna lose all kinds of support.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:52 PM ^
The hype of Giles and Sainistrill and you have tightends standing in the slot . If you are a Slot receiver , why would you come here now ?
September 22nd, 2019 at 12:02 AM ^
JH would love to see McKeon get double the targets of Collins, Black, and Peoples-Jones combined.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:52 PM ^
"Dr. Harbaugh or How I Stopped Watching the Wolverines and Learned to Love Fall Saturdays"
That was the title of the series, right?
September 21st, 2019 at 3:53 PM ^
3 out of our last 5 games, where...we didn't just lose --- we were fucking embarrassed!!!!
I want to believe it can change for the better, but I believe this is the "start" of something very bad...where things won't get better until Jim is gone kind of bad.
I haven't uttered the "Jim needs to go" words since he's been here. I don't know what he's doing right, what he's doing wrong, what he's doing period...BUT, it's NOT WORKING!!!!!
And...unfortunately, it's really sinking in that it never will.
Jim...I'm not sure where the guy from Stanford, SF and the first 2 years here has gone...but, I think it's time for the rest of you to go with him.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:07 PM ^
i would argue that all of the past 5 games were embarrassing.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:29 PM ^
Because Harbaugh won those first two years with Hoke’s recruits. Need to recruit better if you totally want to change an offensive philosophy. UM is not Bama loaded with five star studs. Too many under the radar recruits. And walk-Ons should never be starting on a team like UM. Ever
September 21st, 2019 at 4:39 PM ^
Enough with the recruit better shit. We just got our asses handed to a team with much less heralded recruits. We have plenty of talent.....its the coaching that is failing us.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:53 PM ^
Awful. Harbaugh should take a lot of heat. Offense looked disorganized. Brown has been solved by better teams and trying to cover the A/B gap with Glasgow was stupid.
