Wisconsin Snowflakes - The Coaching

This will be your thread for snowflakes and hot takes regarding the overall coaching in our game against Wisconsin.

Bo Harbaugh

Hire Urban Meyer....

He's scum, he wins. Listen to his analysis as a commentator...dude is a savant. Just have a male grad assistant quality and rules assistant follow him around 24-7.

I see our players hugging each other, traveling fans, and the opponents with huge smiles on their faces after the game.  It's one thing to be humble and congratulate the victor, it's another to have no edge and not give a shit about getting hammered.

We should look down and pissed after a game like that, not joking around.  Program has no edge or identity...even the announcers noticed it. Harbaugh has lost his fire, the players have followed suit.

Time to move on.

Anybody who thinks Urban Meyer would ever coach at Michigan is absolutely delusional. The man won't even refer to us as "Michigan" when he's working for Fox. It seems to pain him to even refer to us as "the Wolverines" instead of "that team up north". The guys has an absolute hatred for Michigan going back to when he was a kid. He would never coach here (not that the school would offer him in the first place, obviously).

He doesn’t need the money and he wouldn’t take the job.

The culture problem here starts with the batshit boosters who cook up spring break trips and want a gimmicky program.  Urban isn’t going to put himself in the “Michigan Man” blender.

My hunch is Urban is back at OSU in 2021 and Day is coaching in the NFL. It might have been the plan all along. There is a reason Urban’s core guys stayed with the program and on staff. This is his sabbatical.

Actually, I feel slightly better after the second half -- the defense slowed Wisconsin down a bit and the offense managed to move the ball a little toward the end.

But that entire first half...woof!

Look, I'm not going to write off the season when MIchigan has two wins (no matter how unimpressive) and one loss.  (No matter how ugly -- and I've witnessed uglier)

I'll say this though: if this team plays Rutgers the way they played in the first half today, they might very well lose.  At that point, BPONE would be well justified.

I haven't seen a coaching staff refuse to use a talent advantage like we have at WR despite literally hiring a guy to run an offense around those players.  This is incompetence on a level of Al Borges trying to use Denard Robinson as a pocket passer

For me, it was something intangible I watched all game, and I was shocked to hear the announcers point it out at the end.

There was no fire. The passion level was not there. And they were playing dumb.

To me, that means the players have given up on this coach.

Contrary to my user name, this is just a take from a random internet user, but I’ll voice it anyway: today looked like the team quit on Harbaugh. Third straight game against a team with a pulse that they’ve been boat-raced and I think the team has thrown in the towel on him. Harbaugh seems like the type of coach to me where if the team is winning everything is great (like any team) but his personality and coaching style aren’t going to garner much respect when the tough times hit. If you think I’m wrong, go watch the Amazon show from 17 and tell me what you think.

Lose by 1 or 50, the instant your team quits on you that should be the immediate end to any coach.

We are soft. I like Bell Collins on offense.

 Defense....Hudson not good

Hill not good

Where is our size in middle of defense.

It's our coaching . Jim please step away. If you love Michigan.....step away.

I said earlier Don Brown is very over rated by people on this blog .

Jim has to go.....if you want a national power. If you want 8 -10 win a season then keep him.

I want more. If that makes me wrong......I don't wanna be right.

Harbaugh out there looking like Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys with his coke bottle glasses. He is and has been an absolute failure for this program and it’s time to cut bait.

defensive coaching is an absolute joke.  allowing our LBs to get continually blown up by guards in the middle of the line over and over and over and over again is pathetic.

offensive coaching ain't any better.

I think today is the beginning of the end, which fucking sucks. I honestly thought the Harbaugh hot seat memes were absurd and completely out of sync with reality. But being totally pantsed today has really taken the shine off everything. Instead of 2017 being a shitty anomaly of otherwise 10 win seasons, it's really starting to look like 10 win seasons are the best we can ever hope for, with regular 7-8 win seasons every couple/few years.

I really don't think that is what any of us had in mind for Harbaugh at any point in his Michigan tenure. And if that's what we are going to get...

Humbling defeat. All you can do now is get ready for Rutgers fellas.

However, Michigan's schedule now looks brutal.

Games vs. Iowa, MSU, Notre Dame, @Maryland, @PSU and Ohio State could all easily be losses this year given current level of play, and no injuries.

OL and DL are simply outclassed...is it recruiting, is it coaching...I don’t know

Hard to do anything when both lines are vastly inferior at every level

Not recruiting...Somebody said it on the board earlier today.  40 plus U of M players were for star or more, and Wisconsin had 9.  We should be playing at least at a top 10-15 level, and we play so much worse.  Chronic underachieving has to be on coaching and maybe upperclass leadership.

WE WON THE SECOND HALF 14-7!!!  THINGS AREN'T AS BAD AS THEY SEEM!!

(above is basically what we're going to hear from the JH apologists on this site in their rush to be perceived as rational and even keeled on the internet).

Non-preferred …

3 out of our last 5 games, where...we didn't just lose --- we were fucking embarrassed!!!!

I want to believe it can change for the better, but I believe this is the "start" of something very bad...where things won't get better until Jim is gone kind of bad.

I haven't uttered the "Jim needs to go" words since he's been here.  I don't know what he's doing right, what he's doing wrong, what he's doing period...BUT, it's NOT WORKING!!!!!

And...unfortunately, it's really sinking in that it never will.

Jim...I'm not sure where the guy from Stanford, SF and the first 2 years here has gone...but, I think it's time for the rest of you to go with him.

Because Harbaugh won those first two years with Hoke’s recruits.   Need to recruit better if you totally want to change an offensive philosophy.   UM is not Bama loaded with five star studs.  Too many under the radar recruits.   And walk-Ons should never be starting on a team like UM.  Ever
