Ridiculous question. No way…

Ridiculous question. No way ASU would be ahead of Cornell in a spelling competition.

Finals are tomorrow night at 7pm on ESPN.

Semi finals are on ESPN tonight at 8pm. Michigan has at least two competing in the semis tonight.

Into the quarterfinals:

Into the quarterfinals:

Ragusin 133 lbs

Gomez 149 lbs

Amine 165 lbs

Griffith 174 lbs

Davison 285 lbs

The only favorite by seed is Griffith. But I like Ragusin and Gomez to win and make the semifinals. Davison has a good chance too.

I feel pretty good about Griffith winning it all at 174 lbs. Starocci (PSU - 3 time national champ) is far from 100% and Griffith is savvy as hell and a former national champ.

How so? Was the background…

How so? Was the background check supposed to predict a stupid decision he made in the future?

I look at this as a good sign. Saban watched a week's worth of tape and realized he needs help.

Why not take the stress out of the experience and just stay the night near Pasadena and fly out in the AM?

38 - 13 Michigan.

38 - 13 Michigan.

Domination from start to finish.

I've said it the last two…

I've said it the last two years and will say it again:

Ryan Day is no Urban Meyer.

He is far from it in many ways, most notably his ability to prepare an OSU team to face Michigan. He thinks he gets it, but he doesn't.

The huge drop-off from Stroud to McCord will be heavily felt by OSU.

Michigan's offense looks sharp and efficient.

By 4pm tomorrow we are national title favorites and Ryan Day is facing existential questions yet again.

UM 38 OSU 13

But the awkward, five second…

But the awkward, five second silence before he pivoted to those talking points said everything he needed to say. He was really fighting the urge.

Agree. We all need to relax…

Agree. We all need to relax. We got this shit next week.

Go Blue!

Maybe there is more to this?…

Maybe there is more to this? UM announces this today and JH sits out MD game this weekend. Drama dies down. Then BIG 10 announces Sunday/Monday that due to cooperation from UM they have reduced the suspension to 2 games and he's back on the sideline for OSU. May be a negotiated face saving tactic they both agreed to? Who knows.

I see a Nick Roumel works…

I see a Nick Roumel works for the law firm (Nacht Law) that was hired by the Big 10 to oppose the TRO. According to the bio on the firm's website, he is the same Nick Roumel that guest writes for Punt - Counter Punt on this site.

https://www.nachtlaw.com/attorney/roumel-nicholas/

Edit: Feel like I should add a big "if" it's true that Nacht Law firm is representing the Big 10. I'm going off Shuster's tweet which may or may not be correct.

I wonder how much IRS…

I wonder how much IRS reporting compliance went into these payments OSU made to recruits. I bet the IRS would be interested in kicking those tires...

I suspect Fox likes this…

I suspect Fox likes this drama for now. Drawing more eyeballs.

I'm guessing with Stapleton…

I'm guessing with Stapleton it's a program access thing. When he's buddys with the head coach he's allowed to big stuff his way around the program and feel important. Based on his public statement yesterday, he sure seems like the type of guy that would get off on a sense of power.

RR was an outsider who didn't know Stapleton from Adam. No access and pissed off.

Hoke and English are buddies with Stapleton going way back. So happy with them no matter how shitty of a coach they are because he gets what he wants.

Guessing JH is on the far other end of the spectrum from Hoke and English and may have made that clear to Stapleton in no uncertain terms.

What you've just written is…

What you've just written is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent post were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this thread is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

No doubt. Early indications…

No doubt. Early indications from his WWE performances is that real wrestling comes much easier to him than does acting. Will be interesting to see how long he sticks with the WWE route - hopefully long enough for Mason to get a crack at Olympic gold next year.

Nobody knows at this point,…

Nobody knows at this point, including Steveson. He is signed with the WWE who actually nixed his planned participation at the World championships this weekend. Mason stepped up on short notice which makes his performance even more impressive.

Steveson is the best 125kg in the world but the WWE made an investment into the Olympic Champion. There is not much upside for the WWE if Steveson wins another World/Olympic gold but a lot of downside if he were to lose and tarnish that image. So he was told "no".

It's a shame for Steveson because he has the potential to be one of the best wrestlers in US history, but he decided to get paid by the WWE instead. It's great for Mason though and he is making the most of it.

We need to all take turns…

We need to all take turns giving Matt Dudek a wedgie.

I love Yianni but he took a…

I love Yianni but he took a loss this season so he's pretty much out of the running as the first criteria is total season record. The second criteria is pins and Mason leads that criteria by a lot. I agree though, without that loss it would be hard to not give it to Yianni.

As a bonus, Mason likely…

As a bonus, Mason likely wins the Hodge Trophy (equivalent of the Heisman for wrestling). With Spencer and RBY both losing there isn't really another guy who's season resume compares to Mason. Would be a great capstone to Mason's career.

Next move is to make the world team this summer and pursue Olympic gold next year. Fwiw, the guy who is #1 in the world at heavyweight (from Iran) was pinned by Mason in the junior world championship finals a few years ago. So Mason can compete at that level.

Great win!

Heavyweight…

Great win!

Heavyweight Champ!

I agree and there are…

I agree and there are several examples in the college wrestling world recently due to the COVID year and some of the top guys taking Olympic redshirts. Add in a regular redshirt and you get some of these guys in their mid 20s competing against 19 and 20 year olds. Michigan had a few of these guys last year in Amine, Micic and Massa.

By more than 22 to the #2…

By more than 22 to the #2 team in the country?

You are pathetic. You haven…

You are pathetic. You haven't posted since the morning of The Game. Your team (OSU) lost and you have been licking your wounds since then with zero posts to this board. Weird since you posted several times a day for weeks leading up to The Game and most posts subtly propped up the OSU defense. If you were a UM fan then you have been conspicuously quiet after our biggest win in 22 years. It's not until USC loses that you become interested in posting here again and that just so happens to coincide with OSU springing to life for a CFP berth. Obvious Buckeye troll.

Lloyd Carr loves Michigan…

Lloyd Carr loves Michigan football and did more for it than all but a small handful of people will ever contribute to the program in its long history. He wasn't perfect, but he was damn good.
