Great letter.  It’s definitely more polite than I would have been, though.  I would have mentioned that I was exploring moving to other conferences that would appreciate us and treat us fairly   I guess that’s why I’m not president of a major university.  I have written a 600 page manifesto about becoming one, however.

I agree, but it would also be a massive financial and reputational hit to the conference as well. You already know that the TV execs would be quick to tell the conference they're not paying the same amount of money for a Michigan-less B1G. It would also look bad if other schools feel like a conference is willing to treat one of the biggest, longest tenured members of their conference poorly because that means they're willing to do it to anyone.

Agreed.  Watch Balas on thewolverine YT recordings.  He's awful.  He knows practically nothing about football, and even less about what is going on inside the Michigan football program.

 

He never has any details, and simply repeats talking points he steals from legit writers or hard-core UM fans who know what they talking about.

 

Bottom-line: Balas is a hack.  Dont read his shit.  Dont listen to his shit.  Balas has no idea what is going on.

It's wild that he even has to ask for due process.  That should have been a given.  Does the Big Ten really want to be sanctioning its members based on allegations alone?

First UM President in my lifetime(59) who has understood the importance of football to the University as a whole.  It's a huge driver of applications and donations, which in turn allow the endowment and research funding to grow.  Very, very proud of President Ono.

I always had the sense that Schlissel was weak tea. This letter makes me a lifelong fan of Santa. As a leader, once in a while, you have to be a bit of a dick. This was exquisite.

Joining others here saying this is a Great Letter !  Due process is still a thing.  Surprised some Big10 AD's and so called "journalists" barked so much knowing so little so far.
