It is not doublespeak (the…

It is not doublespeak (the intention to obfuscate the definition of a term or phrase), I am using one of the definitions of the word peaceful and giving an example of how it can consistent with being disruptive.

4

: devoid of violence or force

The opposing groups used peaceful tactics.

That you choose to emphasize other commonly used definitions of the word does not take away from my point, or somehow make it doublespeak.

You make some good points,…

You make some good points, but to suggest that it was not disruptive at that time is not accurate. How else would it be so well known?

Nor are disruptive and…

Nor are disruptive and peaceful by definition antonymous. It is largely held that Dr King's movement was both disruptive and peaceful. I've nothing more to add.

I appreciate your genuine…

I appreciate your genuine response. It also supports my point that there is a serious lack of understanding around this issue and it's complexities.

I have honestly not heard of…

I have honestly not heard of any hostile actions, please elaborate.

I never suggested that anyone has the right to behave in a manner that violated rules or laws, only that it has proven to be the case. I despise violence and lawlessness. Not sure why you created a straw man. Trying to give you the benefit of the doubt here, but it is becoming difficult.

Which it was, and…

unless allowed by those who are overseeing it.

Which it was, and historically has been. Quoting Yoyo's post

There were no arrests. Peaceful protests like this have taken place at U-M commencement ceremonies for decades. The university supports free speech and expression, and university leaders are pleased that today’s commencement was such a proud and triumphant moment, worthy of the achievements of our extraordinary graduates."

Colleen Mastony, university spokesperson

You're response, while you…

You're response, while you do indeed have every right to it, is willfully ignorant. I'm not suggesting they can't use their voices, just wondering what they are trying to promote. Instead of being reactionary, maybe try to explain it.

Why the hell were some…

Why the hell were some chanting "U.S.A"??? Just emphasizes the need for awareness and education on the topic.

I agree that vandalizing is…

I agree that vandalizing is not a form of peaceful protest and hurts the message. There is a line between "good trouble" and just being a trouble maker.

Tell me what you disagree…

Tell me what you disagree with in my statement? I agree with the first part of yours. The latter is subjective, though many others share your opinion. Keep in mind that when people's voices are stifled, they sometimes find other outlets for their anger, and that change is rarely convenient.

Congratulations to you and…

Congratulations to you and your daughter and everyone involved in her upbringing. It really does take a village. Enjoy one of life's many great moments.

It's a tricky thing, knowing…

It's a tricky thing, knowing how to effectively make ones voice heard. I am glad that they and many others are VOICING their anger instead of acting out on it, and that I live in a country in which it is still our right to do so, peacefully.

The Freudian slip is…

The Freudian slip is justifiable.

Or ol' murderface. Which…

Or ol' murderface.

Which former wolverine would you least like to tackle?

There is a reason that…

There is a reason that Georgia has had more success with similar recruits.

The point is that it…

The point is that it cheapens the victory (for anyone not suffering delusion.) The same people complaining about participation trophies getting all excited that their team bought a championship.

This goes beyond OT. But I…

This goes beyond OT. But I have to say, I am intrigued. How much are you offering this stranger to be your delivery person? Are you paying upfront? Does he or she have to be able to lift 50 pounds? What is this mysterious Michigan swag? Have you tried Door dash?

What point are you…

What point are you attempting to make?

Shirley you're not serious.

Shirley you're not serious.

Which of your student…

Which of your student athletes are you referring to as mid? I don't follow your school's recruiting very closely.

Or 3 they are tired of…

  •  they are tired of getting hammered by our run game in practice
I would highly recommend…

I would highly recommend looking into the "stabbing" a bit further. It has been WAY overblown. Today she complained of "eye pressure and a headache" from the flag that poked her in the eye. There is video and it appears inadvertent. We don't need more sensationalism, things suck as they are. Her quote "One of the students, whose face was covered in a keffiyeh, took a Palestinian flag that he was holding, waved it in my face and hit my left eye," Tartak said. Saying she was "stabbed in the eye" sans context is disingenuous and alarmist, as was the post I initially responded to. Try looking at more than headlines.

I agree with you, but the…

I agree with you, but the article specifically mentions that no violence has happened associated with the protests. Why the hand wringing? No need to associate protests with violence.

Yes. And it is a toxic…

Yes. And it is a toxic combination.

Klein looks really really…

Klein looks really really good. I kept mistaking him for Loveland. I think I heard them say he is one of the five fastest guys on the team.

More fat shaming bigotry.

Well, she also says…

Well, she also says crocodiles are ornery cuz they got all them teeth but no toothbrush... But yeah, she's right about the midnight thing.

Pretty sure your train…

Pretty sure your train acquaintance is playing poker with Keith Jackson now. Hope you found an ace that you could keep.

Some people believe that if…

Some people believe that if you repeat the same lie over and over and over again, it will become as if it is fact in a great many people's minds. And they would be correct. Wack-a-doodles indeed.

No, from Orgrimmar.

No, from Orgrimmar.

Some days the humor is just…

Some days the humor is just broke on this site. I thought it was hilarious.

That's fair.

That's fair. Though I don't think it is disputed that he was being disrespectful to a trainer, which may raise some questions.

Are you making jokes? You…

Are you making jokes? You look like someone who makes jokes.

I think some may tie Jace's…

I think some may tie Jace's behavior to Sanderson leaving and have some feelings about that, which, imo, is fair. Though I only share the sentiment in part. There's also a reasonable question to be asked about what kind of locker room influence he is. Though I'm sure coach May has done his homework on this.

The whole fat-shaming thing…

The whole fat-shaming thing is unwelcome here. Check your bigotry.

In this case, I think sudoku…

In this case, I think sudoku might hurt more.

These are usually allowed to…

These are usually allowed to remain so that it is not posted again by an unwary poster.

Maybe there is an article solely focused on the university's policy which would allow for more rational discussion, but that is unlikely given the genesis of the proposed policy.

IMO school policy is a relevant topic to discuss, particularly for those with ties to the university. If you are not interested in school policy, you can always decline to read about it or engage in the topic. Crazy idea, I know.

But with accountability.

But with accountability.

Why speculate when you can…

Why speculate when you can find the answer here https://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/crystal-ball-comes-4-star-cb-dawayne-galloway (in the comment section).

They are both current…

They are both current sophomores so they likely haven't hit the 60 transfer credit threshold, or are pretty near it. So they shouldn't lose too much in the way of credits unless they took courses M doesn't offer a comparable course to.

I'm curious about how he…

I'm curious about how he pronounces Chipotle. The RIGHT way means he is a take, the other... not so much.

The boys look really grim in…

The boys look really grim in the picture. Where/when was this taken? Cheers to better times ahead.

On the bright side, you…

On the bright side, you could really save on subs!

Please take a look at Wendy…

Please take a look at Wendy's post on the 'Warde Defends' post, https://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/warde-comments-critics#comment-245290720 not because it is offensive, but because it is spot on. Is there any way to rein in the bigotry towards people's appearances? We don't tolerate bigotry in other forms, and this form should not be tolerated either, imo.

Some of you are really…

Some of you are really insecure about appearances.

Everything about this…

Everything about this statement reeks of pessimism/misinformation. You discredit him for identifying and recruiting his players ("just hit on") with whom he has the most success. You discredit him for improving the performance of the players he inherited in his first three years. As for your statement that "he didn't stay there long enough", he didn't stay WHERE long enough? He has only ever been a head coach at FAU, where this was his 6th year. Bizarre take.

Lost in translation?

You missed never having been an assistant. We all have seen where THAT got us.
