OSU bowl game snowflakes: they stink (so far, 2nd qtr)

Submitted by jimmyjoeharbaugh on December 29th, 2023 at 9:18 PM

OSU without Maserati Marv and Honda McCord can't seem to get it going. They just got sacked on their own 2 yard line

They may win the game eventually but who cares, I am already salivating about victory #4!!!

This is exactly the type of Buckeye bowl game I wanted to see.

  • Painful as hell for OSU fans to watch
  • But also exposing an SEC team's supposed vaunted offense as trash (which bodes well for us transitive property wise)
  • Win-Win

This is just an atrocious game to watch.  I'm sure OSU will win something stupid but if I'm the OSU faithful you gotta be nervous about how awful this offense looks.

Is it a good sign that OSUs defense is dominating a solid SEC offense?  Experts are all talking about how the Big Ten defenses are overrated because they are playing Big Ten offenses. Here’s a defense just a little below ours dominating.

I am not sure which I am chuckling at more.....Drinkwitz's team being shutout with all of his immature sign stealing public comments or seeing OSU implode on one another in their huddle and Ryan Day just standing there like a little kid waiting for his turn to step up to the counter to place his order at Dairy Queen....clowns.

Copied from the earlier thread:

OSU's first half drive chart:

Punt
Punt
FG
Punt
Punt
Punt
Punt

Longest drive was 27 yards, the FG. 5 first downs. 76 total yards, 20 passing.

Music, sweet music.

If nothing else, OSU is proving they did not belong in the CFP. With only MHJ sitting out and their starting QB transferred who the fans drove out they really aren't missing many pieces. This team was not made ready and are playing like it, thats on Cryin' Ryan Day. Gotta love Buckeyes laying a turd. Now if only Mizzou can get loose and put some points on the board.

the commercials are better than the college sports I am trying to enjoy right now.  Ryan Day is a basket case.  So that's entertaining in a way.

11Ws must be ablaze right now.  Maybe that's the ticket.

So, OSU recruits at the highest level..but, missing Maserati and Honda and maybe 1 or 2 others...they just collapse offensively?

What happened to all those high 4 star/5 star receivers?  OL?  They look like total shit

All you need to know about Kienholz is that he was behind Brown.  And Brown blows.  I don't know how any insider thought that Brown was going to beat out McCord.

So far this game is a win/win in many ways.

First win: I get to laugh my ass off at OSU.

2nd win: The "vaunted" SEC team that LSU and Georgia got so much cred for beating (which then was used to overrank the entire conference) looks even worse and can't take over a game vs a team with essentially no QB.

So does Ryan Day need a 1st round NFL QB at all times to make his offense work? McCord is a plus P5 QB and no one else on that roster looks as good and they can barely turn up 3 points in the first half

Really enjoyable to watch
