The Michigan-B1G investigation is over. Jim Harbaugh will not be on the sidelines for the next two games, and then will be eligible to return. pic.twitter.com/QtqXwf0IQm

... Just checking: So your take is that Harbaugh should be suspended for allowing his recruiting staff to hire a low level guy, and ex-Marine, who, without his or anyone else in the program's knowledge, used his own money to take video of Michigan opponents, which may or may not be in violation of an NCAA bylaw aiming to save football program's money? Harbaugh's error was not being able to see into the future and prevent his underlings from hiring a guy who would eventually, secretly, seem to violate an NCAA reg? Do I have that right?

Yeah, any time we think Michigan is going to go scorched earth or fight or basically.. win.. please refer back to this post.

I think this is a big deal next weekend with osu. He has a mental edge on those idiots and they will feel empowered to come take it.

Who will tell Sherrone Moore that we need to pass? Who makes the calls on FG or 4th and 2?

Harbaugh has been successful for a reason.

Why doesn't this garbage happen to us when we're 7-4.

So is Clinkscale involved and that’s why we rolled? What the f@$k is going on? A week ago we are going to the lawyers and bringing war upon their heads and then…..nope we’ll just take it on the chin? Smells funny

Who knows.  In all honesty, this is probably a distraction to the team.  A TRO is temporary which means more litigation and hearings and a full hearing has to then be heard after the OSU game most likely if it were granted.  And if it is then ruled in favor of the B1G, then Harbaugh is probably suspended for the B1G champ game and/or playoffs.  Already won the PSU game, could be strategic, get it over now and if you come out the other side, you're in a better place.

Sigh....I'm surprised by this but I will at least wait for the explanation.  I hope to God coach was consulted and signed off on this.  That being said, I can't imagine a universe where coach would sign off on this idea.  Never a dull day!

At the very least I would hope IF the NCAA finds infractions, this should suffice as punishment and the whole matter is over (once their investigation ends in like a year or 2). Otherwise, I have no idea why they would agree to this unless they got wind that the TRO was not going to be granted.

There are two things I can figure:

  • The Big Ten was preparing the "additional penalties" they had threatened in their announcement last Friday, and this was a means to avoid additional penalties.
  • The Big Ten presented Michigan with more evidence of further wrongdoing/larger scope, and both parties agreed to this as a sufficient penalty

But these are just ruminations on my part.

Balas. Michigan and the Big Ten were negotiating a settlement for Harbaugh to miss the Maryland game and return for the Ohio State game. The NCAA just completed player interviews and have corroborated info they had already believed to be true. The Big Ten is receiving evidence from the NCAA. The settlement was taken off of the table and the new compromise was the original three game suspension and the closing of the investigation. The player interviews confirmed another staff member was involved. And there is a confirmed whistleblower. Although, he won't tell the names of either. Reading his responses to questions asked by others it's safe to say the staff member is not Minter. He also said Clinkscale deleting his twitter has nothing to do with this. So one could assume it's not Clinkscale either. The good news is, no one wants to punish the players over this and wins will not be vacated nor will there be a postseason ban.

It really sucks that I'm getting attacked for trying to share the explanation behind all of this.

This is a massive hit for The Game. I am not sure Sherrone has the right run/pass playcalling mix. I highly doubt we can run 36 times in a row against OSU and find success.
