Michigan rolled over and played Dead: Jim is out for the rest of the season
Per Scott Bell on twitter
The Michigan-B1G investigation is over. Jim Harbaugh will not be on the sidelines for the next two games, and then will be eligible to return. pic.twitter.com/QtqXwf0IQm

I was there and am pretty confident Michigan did not run the ball 36 times in a row. That OSU defense was also far worse than this year's OSU defense (fortunately for us, their offense has taken a step down).
November 16th, 2023 at 3:50 PM ^
2 or 3 steps down
November 16th, 2023 at 3:54 PM ^
Jezus I’d hate to be in battle with you as an ally - who tf do you think called that game you were at?
November 16th, 2023 at 6:15 PM ^
No they didn't run it 36 times in a row, but they hardly passed at all in the 2nd half. Pretty sure McNamara attempted 3 or 4 passes in the last two quarters. The last drive was all runs. Pure domination on the ground.
What about this defense tells you they've improved since? I believe their DTs are better but their linebacker player has gotten worse and the DEs are just guys.
November 16th, 2023 at 3:38 PM ^
Well, he does call plays on the Saturdays when Harbaugh has been there, no? And he's done it for two games now and seems to have everyone's confidence.
November 16th, 2023 at 3:48 PM ^
Harbaugh was not calling plays in previous editions. In fact, Harbaugh has never been the primary play caller at Michigan. He has influence, of course, as any HC does. He provides input.
This is not good for the team, but the idea that the reason Michigan ran a lot was because Harbaugh wasn’t there to call passes is errant.
November 16th, 2023 at 4:00 PM ^
Who you think called the plays against the other teams? He made an adjustment in game and went with what worked for to win that game.
November 16th, 2023 at 8:16 PM ^
Has Michigan ever run the ball 36 times in a row in the modern era?
November 16th, 2023 at 3:31 PM ^
Bad headline.
I’m perplexed. I suppose this could be a telegraph of a quick and “no further action” NCAA resolution, but the statement says Michigan continues to cooperate with it. This only makes any sense to me if Michigan can close the book on the entire episode…
And mostly not even then, because this season is the one that matters.
The fact that this didn’t make it to hearing doesn’t make sense to me.
Welp. Win the games.
November 16th, 2023 at 8:17 PM ^
Michigan tried to negotiate down but Tiny held all the cards. His power, if the JGEC backs him, is infinite.
November 16th, 2023 at 3:31 PM ^
What the F? No words.
November 16th, 2023 at 3:32 PM ^
Why in the hell would we agree to that without a fight?
November 16th, 2023 at 8:18 PM ^
To avoid a worse outcome.
November 16th, 2023 at 3:32 PM ^
That or they told Big Ten to play fair and suspend the other coaches for previous years sharing too. Maybe Ryan Day gets suspended for the game too.
November 16th, 2023 at 3:33 PM ^
I am so furious at UM for rolling over on this. The only way that makes this better is if it was negotiated the Petite steps down as part of some deal. Truly I though UM was not going to let itself get railroaded for once. So disappointing.
November 16th, 2023 at 3:52 PM ^
They knew they would not get a favorable response from the judge.
November 16th, 2023 at 3:59 PM ^
😂😂😂😂…. Guys there’s no dirt and no other schools will be getting in trouble. All signs point to more information was uncovered. Simple as that. Time to move on. Unless you want to wait for Mr. Hole to share all his ammunition’s lmao😂😂😂😂😂
November 16th, 2023 at 4:10 PM ^
Maybe the other staff implicated was Jay Harbaugh, Jim fell on his sword to protect his son.
If that is the case, can’t fault a guy for protecting family.
November 16th, 2023 at 8:20 PM ^
"All signs?" You mean one report from someone not very reliable in the past?
I don't know or care what "dirt" someone had. I do know that the decision-makers at UM decided that this was the best course of action, and they know far more than anyone here talking about "all signs."
November 16th, 2023 at 3:33 PM ^
Next they are going to tell us they have nothing on other programs and don't even know how to bluff to attempt to fight back......good thing I have not ran my mouth to my OSU relative's cause now im not so sure about the game.
November 16th, 2023 at 3:34 PM ^
A few thoughts: We do not know all of the facts and there may be something that is relevant but not public. Not having a distraction is good for the team. UM is represented by very good counsel. UM and surely Harbaugh signed off on this. It might resolve everything, since the NCAA has the "coach is responsible for everything rule" and plainly bad things happened (there was a staffer pretending to be someone else on another team's sideline, it appears). They can win with Harbaugh coaching all week and Moore on the sideline on Saturday.
November 16th, 2023 at 3:49 PM ^
This is a rational take and.. despite my vigor, I agree with it.
Based on the facts we have currently, I don't like it. But, we don't know what we don't know. Everything leading up to this felt like we were going ot the mat and now we're not. Hard to know what happened behind closed doors. It's over now. Fuck OSU. Win the game.
November 16th, 2023 at 3:35 PM ^
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂…. People still talking about *Dirt* been telling y’all there’s no dirt… and y’all still talking about dirt after this lmao😂😂😂😂😂
November 16th, 2023 at 3:40 PM ^
Who are you?
November 16th, 2023 at 3:44 PM ^
Don't you have a grubhub order to deliver sparty?
November 16th, 2023 at 4:07 PM ^
No, it’s Doordash 😂😂😂 move on buddy.
November 16th, 2023 at 4:04 PM ^
😂😂😂😂…. Geeez I get it y’all are pissed but move on…. I’ll take 1000 negs… 😂😂😂😂…. stop being cry babies… Neg away
November 16th, 2023 at 4:19 PM ^
You can tell he's right - the more emojis you use the more factual your statements are.
November 16th, 2023 at 3:37 PM ^
You don't end this unless Harbaugh is allowed to coach the OSU game. Michigan looks weak in this because they have rolled over twice this year in situations where they had legit reasons to fight against.
Also the narrative will be, "they must have cheated and Harbaugh had to know. Why else would Michigan and Harbaugh agree to this?"
November 16th, 2023 at 3:40 PM ^
maybe, just maybe the B1G, NCAA, and UM know more then a bunch of blowhards on the internet, and we really do not have all the facts
November 16th, 2023 at 3:37 PM ^
I still hate the BigTen.
November 16th, 2023 at 3:37 PM ^
Clink also deleted his twitter today....
November 16th, 2023 at 3:42 PM ^
Not sure why you were downvoted, but it's a true statement. Bet he gone
November 16th, 2023 at 3:37 PM ^
Beating OSU with Sherrone on the sideline is going to be an even worse look for Day.
November 16th, 2023 at 3:38 PM ^
WHAT THE FUCK! Why would we give up and admit that they can do this? This is fucking bullshit and we should have fought them in court.
This makes Michigan look weak and pathetic. How can you let them win? They declared open war and they win and we get absolutely nothing but our name smeared and a disadvantage in the OSU game. This is so fucking stupid. Fuck Michigan for accepting this wild overstep by a piece of shit conference.
November 16th, 2023 at 3:39 PM ^
I hope we ruin Ohio.
November 16th, 2023 at 3:39 PM ^
Makes me feel like this whole 'scandal' was bigger than it seemed and that if they let it go on the hammer would come down a lot harder.
Accepting this now, and the B1G saying they're dropping it seems like they have appeased the mob and nothing more will be dug up.
HOWEVER, the NCAA investigation is still ongoing and if any more dirt was dug up Michigan will be punished by them. This makes no sense to me.
But it does not make me feel good about the OSU game.
November 16th, 2023 at 3:40 PM ^
Horrible. They should've kept fighting.
Not sure what the reason is for this, but I hope it comes out.
November 16th, 2023 at 3:40 PM ^
The only way this makes sense is if there was additional stuff we didn't want coming out in court.
We would have been better off taking the 2 game suspension that they offered in the beginning (if I'm remembering that right).
November 16th, 2023 at 3:49 PM ^
I don't think it was ever offered, but the big ten rules were the commissioner could not issue suspensions for longer than 2 games without the ADs voting on it, or some shit.
November 16th, 2023 at 8:29 PM ^
No, it's not the ADs, it's a four member "Joint Group Executive Committee," composition well-hidden (I can find the apparent 2021 membership but not the current composition).
In any case, Tiny Tipetti has them in his pocket and so has unlimited power to punish anyone involved in the B1G in any way, for as long as he pleases.
November 16th, 2023 at 4:24 PM ^
I disagree, the B1G would have suspended Harbaugh the third game. Even if coach Clink had knowledge, from the details he never told other coaches. This probably ruins the best chance we had for a national championship. The B!G and OSU got their way of getting rid of Harbaugh.
November 16th, 2023 at 3:41 PM ^
fuck this
November 16th, 2023 at 3:41 PM ^
Chicken shit.
November 16th, 2023 at 3:42 PM ^
Not great, Bob.
November 16th, 2023 at 3:42 PM ^
I dunno man. Unless the Big Ten has more info, I hate that the university rolled over and took 3 games for Jim. Still no evidence against him. I could've taken 2 just to be done with it but you're rewarding OSU with Jim being out for the game?
I almost gotta think the Big Ten has something more because why did UofM absolutely cave in the last few days. Makes no sense
November 16th, 2023 at 3:43 PM ^
Yep this blows. But must be that the only ones who had any actual damaging dirt were the bad guys. Anyone with that “insider knowledge of binders of dirt” can kindly fuck off for a while please
November 16th, 2023 at 3:43 PM ^
Well it was fun while it lasted
November 16th, 2023 at 3:44 PM ^
What the fuck?
