The Michigan-B1G investigation is over. Jim Harbaugh will not be on the sidelines for the next two games, and then will be eligible to return. pic.twitter.com/QtqXwf0IQm

No they didn't run it 36 times in a row, but they hardly passed at all in the 2nd half.  Pretty sure McNamara attempted 3 or 4 passes in the last two quarters.  The last drive was all runs.  Pure domination on the ground.

What about this defense tells you they've improved since?  I believe their DTs are better but their linebacker player has gotten worse and the DEs are just guys.

Harbaugh was not calling plays in previous editions. In fact, Harbaugh has never been the primary play caller at Michigan. He has influence, of course, as any HC does. He provides input.

This is not good for the team, but the idea that the reason Michigan ran a lot was because Harbaugh wasn’t there to call passes is errant.

Bad headline.

I’m perplexed. I suppose this could be a telegraph of a quick and “no further action” NCAA resolution, but the statement says Michigan continues to cooperate with it. This only makes any sense to me if Michigan can close the book on the entire episode…

And mostly not even then, because this season is the one that matters.

The fact that this didn’t make it to hearing doesn’t make sense to me.

Welp. Win the games.

I am so furious at UM for rolling over on this.  The only way that makes this better is if it was negotiated the Petite steps down as part of some deal.  Truly I though UM was not going to let itself get railroaded for once.  So disappointing.

Next they are going to tell us they have nothing on other programs and don't even know how to bluff to attempt to fight back......good thing I have not ran my mouth to my OSU relative's cause now im not so sure about the game.

A few thoughts:  We do not know all of the facts and there may be something that is relevant but not public.  Not having a distraction is good for the team.  UM is represented by very good counsel.  UM and surely Harbaugh signed off on this.  It might resolve everything, since the NCAA has the "coach is responsible for everything rule" and plainly bad things happened (there was a staffer pretending to be someone else on another team's sideline, it appears).  They can win with Harbaugh coaching all week and Moore on the sideline on Saturday.

This is a rational take and.. despite my vigor, I agree with it.

Based on the facts we have currently, I don't like it.  But, we don't know what we don't know.  Everything leading up to this felt like we were going ot the mat and now we're not.  Hard to know what happened behind closed doors.  It's over now.  Fuck OSU.  Win the game.

You don't end this unless Harbaugh is allowed to coach the OSU game. Michigan looks weak in this because they have rolled over twice this year in situations where they had legit reasons to fight against.

Also the narrative will be, "they must have cheated and Harbaugh had to know. Why else would Michigan and Harbaugh agree to this?"

WHAT THE FUCK! Why would we give up and admit that they can do this? This is fucking bullshit and we should have fought them in court.

This makes Michigan look weak and pathetic. How can you let them win? They declared open war and they win and we get absolutely nothing but our name smeared and a disadvantage in the OSU game. This is so fucking stupid. Fuck Michigan for accepting this wild overstep by a piece of shit conference.

Makes me feel like this whole 'scandal' was bigger than it seemed and that if they let it go on the hammer would come down a lot harder.

Accepting this now, and the B1G saying they're dropping it seems like they have appeased the mob and nothing more will be dug up.

HOWEVER, the NCAA investigation is still ongoing and if any more dirt was dug up Michigan will be punished by them. This makes no sense to me.

But it does not make me feel good about the OSU game.

The only way this makes sense is if there was additional stuff we didn't want coming out in court.

We would have been better off taking the 2 game suspension that they offered in the beginning (if I'm remembering that right).

No, it's not the ADs, it's a four member "Joint Group Executive Committee," composition well-hidden (I can find the apparent 2021 membership but not the current composition).

In any case, Tiny Tipetti has them in his pocket and so has unlimited power to punish anyone involved in the B1G in any way, for as long as he pleases.

I dunno man. Unless the Big Ten has more info, I hate that the university rolled over and took 3 games for Jim. Still no evidence against him. I could've taken 2 just to be done with it but you're rewarding OSU with Jim being out for the game?

I almost gotta think the Big Ten has something more because why did UofM absolutely cave in the last few days. Makes no sense

Yep this blows. But must be that the only ones who had any actual damaging dirt were the bad guys. Anyone with that “insider knowledge of binders of dirt” can kindly fuck off for a while please
