My guess is they have their eyes on one of the top QBs in the portal, like Ward or DJU

It’s always a roll of the dice when a team does this…how many thought Sam Hartman would lead ND to the Sun Bowl?

I agree.  I thought he was really solid.  I still think at least 50% of the first interception is on MHJ easing up on the route and not fighting through.  The final interception was forced by the pressure and they were in desperation mode, so that's a tough situation.  His biggest fault seemed to be staring down receivers a bit too much, but good QB's can usually improve on that.

I feel bad for him for the BS he has assuredly had to endure the last couple of weeks, but the end result of this is only going to benefit OSU, because of course it will. No question they are going to end up with a much more dynamic QB that can make plays on his own. Obvi who knows what things look like 8 months from now but I have a feeling I'm going to be much more nervous about their QB making plays going into The Game next year than I was this year, even though McCord played quite well.

Unfortunately, given stroud’s rookie year, I think they can make the argument that they’ll develop you into an NFL mvp candidate by your junior year. It’s not really true, because Stroud is a unicorn, but he certainly enables them to make that case to the top transfer qbs.

rooting for the kid. 11-1 as a first year starter and gets trashed by his own fan base. Day is desperate and fighting for his life..

OSU offense has to be losing close to 90%+ of their 2023 production. that's insane

What a perfect example of how an over zealous fan base and a coach that has no personal accountability can drive a talented kid out of town. Hopefully, future kids thinking about joining them will take notice.

This is great.  Third Base now going to shop in the portal for “best available.”  Will cost him a ton of $$$, and I don’t think is the way to build a real team.  We might have pushed him over the edge.

Depends on who he gets. OSU isn't going to make this kind of move just to pull some grad transfer from Texas Tech in or bring in some guy who's killing it at the FCS level and they're hoping his game translates.

Day will go for the big fish.

My guess is they're lobbying hard for Dante Moore or maybe even Arch Manning. If Ewers decides he's sticking around, which I'm guessing he won't but its not a foregone conclusion that he won't, Manning has the kind of cache and name brand where he can sit there and say "I'm not waiting around another year for my chance." OSU will pay him whatever he wants and they will hand him the keys to the kingdom. He'll be anointed the starter the minute he signs on the dotted line.

True, but if Ewers is sticking around (again, a big if but he has not definitively said he's leaving after this season), then that's one more year he's riding the bench and waiting on tapping his potential.

If he leaves Texas, it'll be solely for playing time and being able to start, because whatever money OSU can offer, Texas can and will match. I'm just saying OSU will have no issues telling him "how big does this check need to be for you to come to Columbus? Because if you come here, you will start, day one. No questions asked, and Ewers comes back, Texas can't offer you that."

I did not see that coming, although I'm guessing most everyone didn't.

Knowing OSU's luck, Caleb Williams will decide he's sticking around for one more season and do a grad transfer to OSU. Just because.

Okay that's definitely a bit hyperbolic, but I really doubt McCord makes this kind of move if OSU wasn't already working the transfer portal hard to find another solution. Knowing them, they'll land some big fish like Dante Moore or Arch Manning just because they can.

Beating OSU three times in a row has broken them. They are scrambling. Sitting at home for the 3rd year in a row during championship week, having the fanbase stewing, Day is making a bunch of rash decisions because he doesn't know how to respond.

This is also a bad look for Day, instead of sticking with and developing  a kid who is clearly a good QB, he is sending the message to future recruits, that if you are not ready to perform, I will cut you loose and go find a QB that someone else developed. Very Lincoln Riley of him.

The question is, after he transfers, leads another team to a championship and has a successful NFL career, will he be Kyle McCord the Buckeye?

In all seriousness, if he were interested in coming, Michigan should try and get him, think he is the perfect QB for Harbaugh and would have success with him.
