Kirk Herbstreit's Delusional Comments
Herbstreit stated that the weather is what allowed Michigan to beat O$U last year in Ann Arbor. And I thought he was a good analyst. Braylon set him straight.

It isn’t fair that OSU had to play in bad weather and Michigan didn’t.
wait…
November 14th, 2022 at 7:48 PM ^
Last time I checked, both teams play in the same weather.
What an asshat.
November 14th, 2022 at 7:48 PM ^
Haskins would’ve had 300 and 8 scores if it didn’t snow
November 14th, 2022 at 7:53 PM ^
Must have been all that THUNDER and Lightning! They better get ready for LIGHTNING and more LIGHTNING this year!
November 14th, 2022 at 7:55 PM ^
I didn’t realize weather made your d line porous.

Sugar melts when it gets wet.

What a fucking clown. Both teams played in the same weather. The game is played in November outdoors in the Midwest. Don't recruit players from Bumfuck McCozyWarmtownyearround if their skin is too sensitive to play in a light snow. NFL teams play in worse weather. Sorry the game wasn't a patty-cake competition on the beach you insufferable turd.
November 14th, 2022 at 8:06 PM ^
If true, that would still mean we're a better team. We both played in the same weather, and essentially play in the same weather. They don't play in Florida the rest of the year.

Dignity!
November 14th, 2022 at 8:17 PM ^
Hmm, and here I thought it was because they couldn't stop Haskins or block our defensive ends.
November 14th, 2022 at 8:23 PM ^
I mean in his defense it was a little unfair that Ohio had to play outside in the wind and snow.
They should have made Michigan play out there in the same conditions
November 14th, 2022 at 8:28 PM ^
OSU is the Diva of college football…everything needs to be perfect or they won’t perform
November 14th, 2022 at 8:30 PM ^
So the weather allowed Michigan to push around the OSU d-line to the tune of 297 rushing yards and 5 rushing TDs for Haskins? You would have thought that if the teams couldn’t pass because of the weather, they could have stopped the run.

Herbie frequently mistakes words for thoughts.
November 14th, 2022 at 8:35 PM ^
If you live in Big 10 County and can't play in inclement weather that's a huge problem
November 14th, 2022 at 8:47 PM ^
If they can't play in foul weather in November, then maybe they should rethink their offensive approach. It is the Big Ten after all.
Now flu, that's a whole different story. /s

Is this the same Kirk Herbstreit who picked Nebraska to win the B1G West before the season started?
I was at the game, and - could track the ball from my seat across the entire field. The difference in the game was line play, period.
It wasn’t as windy as the Buckeyes recent game against Northwestern - and, I hope Kirk keeps giving reasons to rank the Buckeyes in front of Michigan. Keep giving those boys in Columbus all the praise you can - please, keep feeding everything to them. I think they’re the greatest team ever assembled - and love the ride their QB has. According to 247, they were a more talented squad last year, and they’re a more talented squad this year. The CFP loves them, and it’s always been that way. Do you remember when the CFP Selection Committee picked the Bucks despite the fact they didn’t win the East Division or the B1G?
Yes, this Bucks team is unbeatable - even Darth Vader thinks they are more intimidating than the Death Star.

wait, was it only snowing and cold for OSU players?
my memory isn’t the best but I swear both teams played in the same city, same stadium, with the same weather …..
November 14th, 2022 at 9:06 PM ^
2018 was too sunny. Our DBs couldn’t see their crossing routes due to the sun in their eyes. So… basically… we won that game and the 12 before it.
November 14th, 2022 at 9:27 PM ^
On second thought, I’d like to adjust my recollection of last year’s regular season finale.
it was unusual. During Buckeye possessions, I recall seeing the Abominable Snowman and Bigfoot relishing in the conditions - while Ole Man Winter was dialing in his Blizzard machine. And, during Michigan possessions - the skies cleared - the temperature increased to 68 degrees - the sun came out - and any gale force winds that might have been blowing stopped, turning into a gentle Spring breeze.
Yeah, that’s what it was like…

I fully believe weather DID play a big role which shows how bad Day is. Michigan was solid on both lines and had a very good run game. Something that transitions to inclement weather nicely. Ryan Day built an SEC type team in Ohio.
There's nothing wrong with stating the weather assisted, because both teams play in the north. Be smarter and build a team better suited for the region you play in if you are upset.
November 14th, 2022 at 9:31 PM ^
81 - two games ago, the weather forecast was quite clear - and, known several days in advance - this was the Bucks game against Northwestern.
Northwestern actually outgained the Buckeyes.
November 14th, 2022 at 9:30 PM ^
Fer chrissakes, the weather wasn't that bad and both teams had to play in it. It's not like it was the goddamned Snow Bowl.

This take is embarrassing to OSU. Makes them look soft. Do better Herbie.
November 14th, 2022 at 10:00 PM ^
Herbstreit is a Homer no doubt, but I didn't think he was delusional. My all time Homer vote goes to Lou Holtz who has predicted ND to win the NC every year for the last 20 years.

Isn't this what we want?
The more they disrespect our win, the better for us. They're refusing to accept that we are better this year than last year.
Let them blame the weather, a flu, a starter coming down with the clap, it doesn't matter.
November 14th, 2022 at 10:10 PM ^
I was told they all had the flu. Keep your stories straight Kirk
November 14th, 2022 at 10:14 PM ^
People on this forum are already posting about the weather already in Columbus lol
November 14th, 2022 at 10:28 PM ^
If true, then they're probably going to like this November's game time weather in Columbus even less. 49 degrees, Rain, 15+ mph winds. Should be a lot of fun regardless.
November 15th, 2022 at 6:35 AM ^
What a terrible take from Herbie. I used to like him as an analyst but he seems to get worse every year.
Honestly I hope that OSU thinks it was only the weather that won them the game last year because that would bode well for this year
November 15th, 2022 at 7:15 AM ^
Buckeyes gonna Buck..just more Trailer trash from Ohio
November 15th, 2022 at 8:44 AM ^
Weather? It wasn't the weather. It was the flu. OSU's flu outbreak was as bad as Herbstreit's diarrhea of the mouth outbreak.

i.e. OSU QB is soft. Stroud has looked really uncomfortable in all of his cold weather games. Watch him on the side lines, his hands are constantly in his hand warmers and he is basically shivering
November 15th, 2022 at 10:58 AM ^
Personally, I used to like Herbstreit a lot on Gameday. I enjoyed his homerism too. I expect it and enjoy it just like I do when Howard does it. However, as the ESPN powers have pushed their entire broadcast to promote the SEC as much as possible, the rest of his coverage is now SEC propaganda with some OSU homerism and it's become unwatchable. Everything ESPN has become unwatchable with their start to the ratings war already in progress.
November 15th, 2022 at 5:55 PM ^
The biggest issue that I have is that everything he does is by design to assist OSU. And what makes it worse is his pious sanctimonious feigning ignorance of such.
