That should tell everyone all we need to know.

Think about this Jim will have missed half the season with suspensions. I don’t think he is back next year and spare me it’s because it’s what he wants

Neg away. Truth hurts sometimes. They got caught with their pants down. There will be more dropping about at least one assistant involved. This is on Jim’s hiring practices more than anything. He gone

I get it. If this is dragged out, it really becomes an emotional distraction at a time we need to be preparing for the game. It sucks. But I believe Harbaugh is doing this in the best interest of Michigan winning out.

I sort of assumed that the injunction argument here was the tough sell; perhaps the judge intimated that he wasn't going to rule quickly either way so that that point you've already got 2/3 of the suspension served and if you then don't win the TRO you're still suspended plus potential other punishments.  If the B1G is conceding this is it and we're done then it makes some sense for postseason play.

I am sure both sides did not want this in the courts.  Additional information may have been provided to UM as well that moved the needle here.  The bottom line is that it probably would have gotten even uglier if both sides didn't agree to settle this now.  You can never be sure how a judge will rule in these situations and it is always better to settle then spend exorbitant amounts of money litigating.

Harbaugh being the coach for OSU is better for the team. Moore won the PSU game, but the team clearly and obviously looks and plays better with Harbaugh as the coach.

The could have at least waited to see if they would get the injunction first. Plus the NCAA can still punish Michigan and the conference and these piece of shit coaches get a win. This is a loss for Michigan on every front.

Trolling? Truth is not trolling. As Coach Carr told me years ago when Jim was at Stanford “Jim isn’t who people think he is”

Jim’s hiring practices have got him in serious shit. More is coming out and when it does I’ll take the apology as usual.

This is really weird, and also makes me wonder what was going on with Harbaugh's claims he was ready to talk at the hearing.  I have to assume something came about that either the school or the conference weren't expecting and the decision was made to settle that element.  If this is truly the B1G conceding this is the only punishment he'd receive then I guess this sorta makes sense from UM's standpoint; they can go into next year and beyond not worried about some future action.  And maybe this also nips any potential NCAA punishment as well.  But lots of unknowns and on its face a weird decision.

It's awful on Michigan's part. the B1G overstepped wildly, so any further punishment could have been fought and this does nothing to stop the NCAA investigation. Michigan loses the PR battle, the battle with the conference and is not handcuffed against OSU and a chance to win the conference.

I don't see any positives about this, because they'll be called cheaters regardless and this will only validate people who believe that even more.

Everyone on this board is ignoring how badly Michigan has lost the PR battle here. Look at the comments on literally any article or video from literally any (non-UM affiliated) source, and all of the comments are everyone talking about how we're the scummest cheatbags on earth. Any pro-UM coverage is "the UM lies machine spinning." These are real terms people are using! Also this sets a precedent that Tony Pettiti can just cave to an angry mob.

All I'm hoping for at this point is that the insider info was right and we have dirt on everyone and it starts trickling out. It probably won't do anything because as you said, people will just cry about the BLUE WALL. But doing nothing thus far hasn't benefitted the program or it's fans either, so why not play the cards if you've got 'em?

I know people are pissed but I think your read is the correct one.  The B1G didn’t want to lose in court, nor did they want to win in court initially and then have to go through a lengthier court process down the road where dirty laundry would get aired.  Michigan didn’t want to deal with “future punishments” that were sort of put on the table.  I wish they had agreed to a 2 game suspension but I’m sure the B1G knew if they allowed that then all hell would’ve broken loose.

Fight them on any future punishments to. You knew what you were getting into when you refused to punish Jim the first time. The B1G treated Michigan like absolutely shit the whole time. Leaked to opponents that they thought were cheating without concluding any investigation, punished with no due process and broke their own rules, punished well above the worth of the actual crimes, waited until the last minute to punish to hurt us as much as possible, leaked it to ESPN before telling the school.

You let them get away with all that for what? A possible under the table agreement? Their word isn't worth shit. They smeared you and damaged your reputation and damaged your ability to win a national title. What could they have possibly offered that makes all that even? The answer is fucking nothing.

Considering what comes out if this actually gets litigated, the fact that there was a settlement isn't surprising.

If Michigan didn't get something (at least under the table) in compensation for this, or doesn't have some sort of assured vengeance planned, I can't understand how THIS was the settlement.
