Agreed. The NCAA is a complete joke. It either needs an overhaul or be gone. Plus, with this news, Michigan should hang the banners up from the Fab Five Era.
It's nice to know that Michigan is in the NCAA tournament regardless of this outcome, but for the sake of mentality, it would be a nice feeling to go into the tournament with a win than a loss. Go Blue!
When I was growing up, I would watch Flint Generals hockey at the, previously known as, IMA Sports Arena.
My sister and I would say things after an announcement was made, such as "*Insert other team name here* at full strength!", we would reply, "And they still suck!".
Another one we did was "1 minute remaining in the *insert period here*", we would reply, "Who cares?". It caught on pretty quickly and others would start doing it.
Now, when I go to the Flint Firebirds game, I hear the fans say these things. Makes my heart grow fonder.
Thank you, Rob, and the other mods on this site. I really feel that you don't get the appreciation that you all deserve, especially since the job, within itself, can be a very daunting task.
Serious question: How does one become a mod? I've been a lurker since 2011 but finally created an account in 2016, however, I don't remember seeing anything in regard to a user becoming a mod or postings of this blog needing one. How did you all become one?
My Dad got me into college football. He's a huge Michigan fan. My earliest memory is the 1991 season, but more specifically (Forgive me, I cannot, for the life of me, what season this was) when we played Northwestern, my Dad was....uhh....not too happy with what was transpiring in the game. I remember that we lost and he was so upset that he punched a hole in the wall of his bedroom. Thankfully, he's no longer like this, but it made me scared of the type of fandom this sport could present. I guess the good news out of that is I don't put sports as #1 in my life. I can't put too much emotion into something I have no control over. At the end of the day, it's just a game.
Sorry for the long-winded soapbox speech there. To cut a long story short (Yes, Spandau Ballet reference), I love Michigan football. I love the university so much that I went there and also worked there! I'll always bleed maize and blue.
Great write up, SHS. I think this is a great reminder of how lucky we were to have such a great QB and head coach. He did the unthinkable job of turning the program around and, ultimately, win the national championship.
Harbaugh took the hit, but only because he can take it. He sacrificed himself for the greater good (the greater good) of Michigan football. No man is more important than the team.
Agreed. Coach Campbell needs to do what got them there, which was being aggressive. Honestly, what they did this season was great. I wasn't expecting them to win it all, but damn, they impressed me just by getting to the NFC Championship. If they can build upon this success, watch out...
The Wolverine also has an article that both Moore and Minter are out on the recruiting trail. I'm curious to know if they know anything and what they're telling the recruits.

I really dislike Minnesota, but damn am I very happy for him! I'll be a JJ fan, but that doesn't mean I'll like the Vikings.

I KNEW you were going to say that! I was not disappointed.
Hey Fellow Kearsley alum!
Sounds very NSFW
So, it's NOT a toupee?

His stats are pretty decent.
2022- 71/96-74% 589 yards 4 TDs/3 INTs 133-RTG
2023-63/99-63.6% 714 yards 6 TDs/2 INTs 140.2-RTG
With some better coaching, he could be a really good QB.
R.E.M., too!
I think they'll get 13-14 drafted, unfortunately. I would not mind one bit if I was wrong and break Georgia's record.
Dislike the Vikings but I would be happy for JJ. I hope the young man has a splendid NFL career!
Love the B-52's! Private Idaho and Dance This Mess Around FTW
This.
He has done A LOT in his professional career. There's nothing left to do, nothing left to prove. Go enjoy retirement, Tom!
Maybe even make an appearance at Michigan football games? Just a suggestion....
That should have been Michigan
Or, just have the team that elected to receive start automatically at their own 25 yard line
Love to see:…
Need: A win
Love to see: Sparty getting their doors blown off
Can't wait until this "Daylight Savings" BS is done with. I hate the time change
I see what you did there and I approve

To be fair, that is still more Wolverines spotted in Oregon than in Michigan.

Classic! Never ceases to make me laugh when I see it. Thank you, KO!
He grew up and went to Davison High School. Also the home of Tim Thomas, Stanley Cup winning goaltender with Boston.
Yup. Essentially, making it the AFC and NFC of the college football world.
Thanks! I will do so!
Si voy habrá problemas. Y si me quedo habrá doble. Entonces tienes que avisarme si me quedo o si me voy.
I love The Clash. Police On My Back, Spanish Bombs, and Lost in the Supermarket are my jams.

That's how fires get started, Rob
Now I can picture a Nun on the sidelines trying to coach up the LB's. Headset, clipboard, and a rosary.
Good luck to the young man. I hope he finds what he is looking for.
Yes. Next question
This was my reaction, as well
Ah, okay, then that is not my earliest memory. I suppose it's one of those memories that have had an impact on me.
Thank you for clarifying!
I guess my earliest memory would be Michigan at Michigan State when Desmond Howard was tripped in the endzone.

I'll show myself out.....

Cool. Sounds like a solid hire.
Still not rooting for the Chiefs though lol
What in the world did you ask ChatGPT for this? Lol
I was thinking the same thing, I didn't realize he was ill. I'm not a country music fan, but may he rest in peace.
Edit: Obligatory FUCK CANCER
For me, MGoBlog is the standard for blogs. It's going to be difficult for me to enjoy any sports blog that isn't this type of caliber.
Great read! I love your perspective on this. I hope Coach Harbaugh will return, in some fashion.
Go Blue!

+1 for David Tennant

How dare you comment on his comment on his opinion about Nik's opinion! /s
Lol I mean, I think we should call all of them Weathermen. They're just as effective!
