Way too much to communicate over a blog post and I would have some questions such as the age of your kids, etc. Quality of schools varies widely, so if that is key priority, then I would look at towns around GR such as East Grand Rapids or Forest Hills area. Both Holland and Grand Haven areas have in-land lakes that connect to Lake Michigan (if you were thinking about being on the water). EGR has a small inland lake, but super pricey to get on that.
