Harbaugh to be potentially suspended 4 games - Yahoo Sports
Burgers so good, though.
And I've speculated that by 2024 or 2025 Ryan Day would be in the NFL, either as a HC or OC. (The latter of which is actually the job he is most perfect for.)
...could be that within a couple years we could have a new pair of HCs in the rivalry, and then who knows what direction it goes.
YOU ONLY WISH BUCKEYECHUCK!
May you remain in Ryan Day purgatory for somewhere between 45 and 23 more years.
I don't wish Day gone.
Fuck em. Time to leave the NCAA for football.
Will be interesting to see who gets the title for those 4 games.
Michael Barrett
He's probably overqualified by now.
Considering the weak opponents, it'd be awesome if they did this:
Game 1 Head Coach: Moore
Game 2: Minter
Game 3: Hart
Game 4: Jay Harbaugh
They have 4 assistants that are very likely to become a head coach in the near future. Give them each a game to lead the team
This would be the only reason Harbaugh would've given in to a suspension. To give his assistant head-coaches-in-waiting an opportunity to be a temp head coach for the positive exposure. And if it's the first 4 games of the season then the risk is quite low.
First game will either be Hart or Minter as the interim head coach. Campbell will call plays on offense and Minter will obviously call plays on defense. Most likely Hart will be given nod as interim. The next 3 Moore will be in charge and call plays. This is the current plan depending on how everything shakes out.
Peacock has the first game.
Two current Michigan assistants are also expected to receive sanctions, including offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore and tight ends coach Grant Newsome.
Damn. It would have been good to see Moore get the nod as a trial run in case Harbaugh bolts for the NFL next season.
On that note...doesn't this make it more likely that he says F-you to the NCAA and leaves after this year?
Newsome and Moore only 1 game from what I've read
So how would this work? Would they stagger these suspensions? It'd be pretty hard to have a game (any game) without all three of these coaches on the sidelines.
How ridiculous
But Tennessee is good? Ok. NCAA is a pile of garbage
One analyst has Joe Milton as top QB in the nation. Didn't see that coming.
Cocaine is a helluva drug.
Maybe he squinted and thought he was seeing Hendon Hooker.
And then he'd still be wrong.
That’s because the Tennessee attorney general threatened to sue the NCAA for millions for violating the players’ NIL rights if they imposed any kind of bowl ban on the program. The coaches who were in charge when the violations occurred are already gone.
If I am reading the punishment guidelines correctly, even if he truly didn't remember buying the food (or whatever else they accused him of), it would have been better to just shrug and admit it. Crazy system.
I don't know who the more toothless entity is: the NCAA or the Michigan AD
Denture fight!
Lol! This pretty much sums it all up!
Why would we ever agree to this when the NCAA is essentially toothless now?
The NCAA continues to be a joke. Tennessee gets off with barely anything and our HC gets suspended 1/3 of a season
Tennessee was really super sorry, though.
This is unfuckingbelievable! Four games for not remembering a cheesburger? Meanwhile, not one single person on this board - or any other college forum - needs to be reminded of what schools like UNC, Arkansas, Kansas, LSU, etc get away with. What the actual fuck is going on here, Warde?
Yes - Warde. This is something Manuel should have ended months ago by telling the NCAA to fuck off (even if he used prettier words than that). But he apparently didn't. Apparently, he entertained them and continued to try brokering a deal. A 'deal' that might include a 4-game suspension for forgetting about how much he tipped a waiter two years prior. Some deal...
How many other sitting coaches have ever served a 4-game suspension for something so trivial? Four games is among the worst I can remember.
Anything short of zero games is a crime, without even considering what the NCAA normally lets slide...
Warde and Harbaugh’s relationship is completely fractured at this point. Reports of them not talking were not correct back in May or whenever that was, but I won’t be surprised if they aren’t talking much after this. Harbaugh’s camp made it very clear he did not want a suspension. If. Warde is not out this year, do not be surprised if Jim goes to the NFL after this season.
So, is the root cause of this the fact that Harbaugh recalled ordering two hamburgers from The Brown Jug - when, in fact, the order was for two cheeseburgers?
And, the timing - along with who else is noted. Both Sherrone Moore and Grant Newsome were mentioned in the article.
It's fucking stupid but they're extremely winnable games and it's valuable experience for whoever winds up getting the interim gig since they'll probably be the next in line if JH leaves
The root cause is harbaugh told the ncaa to shove it. Buying the burgers is a meaningless violation they wouldn’t have cared about. It’s when they got caught for that harbaugh told them to shove it rather than just take the slap on the wrist
Reminder that Meyer got less for harboring Zach Smith for multiple years. The NCAA is a fucking joke.
100,000 fans should throw burgers on the field each game with a suitable NCAA chant.
I object to the waste of would be several tons of meat. And I object to the notion of vandalizing our own field as a meaningful protest against the NCAA. But I agree with the sentiment.
Impossible burgers would be ok
Fair enough. Then maybe a donor can organize a "free burgers for everybody" event outside the stadium on those gamedays.
If this punishment is implemented, I would strongly recommend that the university refer to "Arkell v. Pressdram" in their reply to the NCAA.

Lol hypocrisy with NCAA at its finest. Teams can tamper and flat out pay players to transfer, but level ll violations is the mountain to stand on. Sure, I get lying to officials is big. But who really believes the notion of Harbaugh being disingenuous? I wish UM and Harbz would give ncaa the middle finger when essentially every SEC or any other school is vying for a playoff berth can do whatever they want. Can’t wait to see the ncaa collapse. Screw them.
The NCAA has no power apart from what the schools give it. Hopefully we’ll never play ball with them again but I doubt it.
Negotiating implies a harsher penalty is on the table! this is absolutely insane
My guess is Warde does not want to risk the first road game with JH on the sideline. He probably feels confident the team can hold serve with the first 4 games. This has to be a game day only suspenssion. If it is team activities this is fucking insane.
Correcting if it is all team activities this is even more fucking insane.
And yet Texas can schmooze Arch Manning with a 250k recruiting trip and no one at the NCAA front office bats an eyelash. Yet Harbaugh gets crucified over fucking hamburgers.
The only schools the NCAA can punish these days are the schools that let them.
Michigan still appears to be one of those schools.
This is just dumb. Why give an inch to the NCAA at all. Screw the weak ass NCAA.
this is all Dudek, right?
I was always amazed people defended that guy. If you followed him on Twitter he was an embarrassment to what he responded to.
Hell Hath no Fury like a shitty recruiting cordinator scorned. Or something like that.
Kinda the school's fault for hiring that fuckstick in the first place. You could see this coming a mile away. Certain people live online and just can't help from posting stuff on Twitter that shows how douchey they are.
Hey University of Michigan quit acting like you are above others. Negotiated to 4 games? Weak ASF!!! No way this happens in SEC.
How you handled the Fab Five was bad enough this imo is worse!
