5 show causes, 3 years probation, and recruiting restrictions. Can you imagine what the penalties would've been if Manuel hadn't "repaired" our relationship w/ the NCAA...? Empty suit. Still.
Even if they sneak in, with this D and goaltending they're going nowhere. And you can thank Warde Manuel for that w/ his complete paralysis re Pearson, which crippled the recruiting class that should be assisting with the typical second half surge right now.
This is the point that every Brandon-basher glosses over. The guy ended up being a turd, but the powers that be here, and the MGoCommenters, absolutely loved it when he gave the "pimp hand" to the NCAA on like day one. We'd probably still be on self-imposed probation if Manuel were the AD then.
I didn't allow myself to think about "it," even up 17 at half. I'm glad for that, because I can't imagine how much worse I'd feel today.
They fumbled away (literally and figuratively) a golden opportunity to FINALLY reach the Super Bowl. Who knows when this opportunity may come around again? This team would've been in the pantheon of Detroit sports for simply making the Super Bowl. Instead, it's just another missed opportunity in 67 years of them.
My son is a Junior at Michigan. My daughter (and her alum parents) are hoping for one more Wolverine today. Best of luck to all waiting for that email, which was a big envelope back in my day...
Looking for 2 to 4 tix for the National Championship Celebration at Crisler if you were lucky enough to score them, but find you can't use them. Thanks!
2.5 hour delay in Dallas after spending 4 hours on the road to drive there. That means I just had to think of the magic of the night before for a few extra hours...So the time flew by.
Manuel remains an empty suit with an unmitigated hate for Jim Harbaugh. There was all kinds of defiance yesterday on the TKA roundtable that Michigan would "sue the NCAA" if there was an attempt at a post-season ban this year. Color me skeptical. Such a spine would have to come from Ono, because it sure as hell isn't coming from Manuel.
Next to implode is the ACC, and the B1G 18 needs to have a hand in that as well. It'll be B1G and SEC in the top tier, Big 12 in a tier below, and then there will be ~60 schools sitting at the kids' table for Thanksgiving 2026.

I think it's a wall off IDs with the eyes cut out like Village Corner back in the day.
Yeah, they're called doctors.
It's also where the true lack of leadership at the top of the Athletic Dept. comes through.

I believe Manuel canned him to save his own ass. Now we're stuck with him making another hire.
Remember when this team started 3-0? Only won 5 of their final 28 games.
But sure, Manuel, run it back w/ Howard.
Probably needs to happen in reverse order, but yeah.

Troy Weaver playing fantasy basketball. Still.
Welp, that's two more years of him here. At least. Good grief.
But maybe this will curtail the daily #FireWarde thread(s) on here? Potential silver lining.
Two DCs in an hour! Ex. A as to why I refuse to pay for "premium" content.
Can someone please remind Harbaugh that he hates Manuel, and not the University of Michigan?

Latest straw. Should be fired tonight. But, Manuel.
I get the comment, but still, from your lips to God's ears re Manuel.

Ford Field w/ my son today is the best I can do.
Empty suit.
I was in South Quad. My son too. Hoping third time is the charm there!
She's in!

I posit the same.
Manuel has hated him since they were teammates FFS.
Timing is...something.
Welp, we lost that trade.
The Lions need to spend all seven picks on D.
And he's heading to...(checks notes): Alabama w/ his coach.

I didn't think it possible, but our Rose Bowl win just got even sweeter.

Thanks for the tip. Hitting Pappas Bros for an early steak, but we'll definitely head there before the show for some beverages.
Sklars for me, and then some nearby watering hole after. Hopefully w/ a bunch of Michigan folks from the show.
Imagine looking at this defense at the deadline and being like "nah, we're good."
Guess we're not leaving B1G after all...
Salt the Earth still cool?

John Lennon likes this.
You would think somebody who was ex-military ops might not buy the tickets in his own name...
Just bought my pass as well, thanks.
I guess I'm surprised by the expression of surprise here.
Who let Rosenberg in the bldg?
If you had Harbaugh and race on your bingo card, you win.
Also, mentioning Harbaugh is bonkers to being with, but not naming Izzo and instead using a reference to "iconic MSU coach"? Clown.
The article simply does not say that the Harbaugh issue is resolved. It is not.
The "negotiated resolution" relates only to Moore and the loss of two recruiting weekends.
I read it the same way you do, BB. Surprised I had to go this far down the page to see this question posed.
Man, no one self-flagellates harder than Michigan Athletic Dep't.

Why would we ever agree to this when the NCAA is essentially toothless now?
I'm sure that was in exchange for taking the home night game in Mid-Nov. against St. That's a great trade by Gene Smith.
So at 4:30 tomorrow we find out (officially) that we play USC in ‘24 and ‘25.
Dammit. But at least the myth that Ono was going to come in and address this issue immediately has been put to bed with this latest fail.
