Working with the NCAA with the RR stretching stuff was like the one thing that Dave Brandon was given credit for. Warde may be a better dude than DB but he is terrible at his job.

What spared Tennessee was their state AG threatening the NCAA with a lawsuit on the grounds that TN state law superseded any NCAA rules against pay for play schemes.

Harbaugh doesn't have that card to play here. He's going to have to suck it up for the sake of his players and their good shot at a title.

If I'm him, I'm basically telling Ono at the end of the season, either Warde goes or I go. This is AD malpractice. The odds of Harbaugh leaving for the NFL in January shot way up.

Unbelievable that people around here continue to suck Warde Manuel’s tiny little peepee after all this. Dude just got cucked by the most impotent sports organization in the world.

To be clear, NCAA rules are agreed upon by members with the goal of a level playing field.  Last I checked, how players drive has nothing to do with that, but having an informal meeting with prospects on campus  during a recruiting dead period would fall under that category.  And tuning in a receipt for reimbursement for a meal as a business expense is a pretty good indicator that you were at a certain place at a certain time.  Thus, trying to say otherwise is lying.  That is what he is on the hook for.

last I checked, neither UGA nor Bama was under NCAA investigation for violating covid visit protocol rules.  In fact, Smart actually referenced that part of the reason the “covid babies” class at UGA has been so successful (17/20 remain) was because they knew the ones who were regularly sending videos of themselves were the type of kids they wanted.

jelousy is a terrible look for this program and fan base.  This isn’t about comparing Michigan to any other program. UM Leadership should have concurred with the NCAA and agreed to the minor violations and moved on.  Instead, they let Harbaugh’s ego create an issue where there isn’t one.

To my understanding, Michigan wasn’t contesting that there are rules that were broken. What the NCAA wanted a pound of flash for is that they wanted to have Harbaugh admit he was lying about it, and he wouldn’t do that.

that’s the impression I’ve gotten from listening to Sam Webb, anyway.

Sam and Seth Fisher have concluded that pandering to what their followers want to read is a better business strategy than honesty and perhaps criticism.  One has to go through a ton of mental gymnastics to believe the NCAA enforcement staff is targeting Harbaugh for punishment as opposed being fair and simply applying its standards in cases where the individual lied about what they did.  Settlements and leniency come from both parties either agreeing on a common set of facts or accepting that the punishment matches the most probable version of events. The NCAA literally has receipts.  Arguing otherwise is just homerism.

You sure pounce on opportunities to be "high and mighty" on this board.

Back-to-Back B1G championships; nothing to say, except to call out the "lack of talent" on the team after the UGA loss.

Howard vs Gard situation, you flocked to the board about as fast as John Bolton rushes to a TV camera when he hears the word "war."
