Donovan Edwards coming back!
GREAT NEWS! Obviously! He showed in the championship game that he hasn’t lost it. Let’s see him have a big senior year!
January 15th, 2024 at 12:03 PM ^
definitely for several plays a game
January 15th, 2024 at 12:38 PM ^
He had 10 receptions for 170yds vs Maryland in 2021.

I kept waiting for Michigan to run a wheel route to him this year like he scored on vs Maryland in 2021. But they never did. Maybe Sherrone didn't trust the blocking to hold up.
January 15th, 2024 at 10:48 AM ^
Cue the OSU fans PTSD.... go get 'em Dono. Big contract year for him - I'm expecting big things
January 15th, 2024 at 10:51 AM ^
THE DON!
January 15th, 2024 at 10:51 AM ^
From the man himself!
January 15th, 2024 at 11:05 AM ^
The Don!
January 15th, 2024 at 12:52 PM ^
He seems to prefer Dono fwiw. I like both.
January 15th, 2024 at 10:53 AM ^
QB, WR, RB all checked off in the off-season wish list.
January 15th, 2024 at 10:53 AM ^
Noice!
January 15th, 2024 at 10:55 AM ^
With all the money and talent on our staff, if we could just teach/train Orji how to throw I’d feel a whole lot better about next season…
January 15th, 2024 at 10:58 AM ^
Donovan and Orji would make a great combo on offense.
January 15th, 2024 at 11:02 AM ^
Throw in Mullings as a Blocker and Runner and you have all fors of mayhem.
January 15th, 2024 at 11:04 AM ^
If we can’t snag a transfer QB I’m praying for a Denard-like jump in progress.
January 15th, 2024 at 11:44 AM ^
Not real clear on the process but I don't think there's a lot of training with Orjis they either just kind of happen or they don't
January 15th, 2024 at 11:59 AM ^
And teach him how to read the defense.
January 15th, 2024 at 12:41 PM ^
Easy.
Pitch it to The Don and let The Don throw it.
There, done.
January 15th, 2024 at 10:55 AM ^
He's going to have a monster year.
As Brian noted on twitter, the OL next year has been marinating for a long time. Can't say for sure, but I would be shocked if there was a steep drop-off when it comes to the OL.
January 15th, 2024 at 11:06 AM ^
I feel like as long as Moore and Herbert are here we will always see a line that can run the ball both physically and schematically.
QB obviously the big concern but i good running game and elite pass catching running back and tight end go along way to helping out whoever is back there. Oh yeah an elite defense to lean on doesn’t hurt
January 15th, 2024 at 10:56 AM ^
So, today is return day...well played to get the hype train rolling into next season
January 15th, 2024 at 10:56 AM ^
I wonder if they will keep him as is, or if Herbert will bulk him a bit like Corum did in 2022 and try to show out as a 20 rushes/game type.
January 15th, 2024 at 11:01 AM ^
Although I think he could be Jahmyr Gibbs 2.0 as is
January 15th, 2024 at 11:02 AM ^
I would love this
January 15th, 2024 at 1:05 PM ^
Jahmyr has crazy elusiveness - can deliver when there is very little space. Haven't really seen that from Donovan - I love him but he's more of of a straight ahead speed guy to me.
January 15th, 2024 at 1:11 PM ^
Dono isn’t elusive and goes down on contact. All his great runs are him blazing through giant holes. I realize his first TD against Wash had SOME contact. But he basically just rammed into a wall there and was like oh, a hole.
January 15th, 2024 at 11:05 AM ^
I'd leave him as-is physically. You've got a pile-over in Mullens (who's also pretty talented). Move Dono all over the field this year and make people account for him. He'll eat, and so will everyone else
January 15th, 2024 at 10:56 AM ^
Great news! Hoping for The Don to pick up where he left off and have a lot more house calls right from the start. Not mention is receiving and passing skills.
Thank you Donovan!
January 15th, 2024 at 10:57 AM ^
Thank god. His potential was not unlocked this year. He needs to be unleashed
January 15th, 2024 at 12:43 PM ^
Agreed. Did he get to run a single wheel route this year? I can't think of any. (He scored on one vs Maryland in 2021.)
January 15th, 2024 at 10:57 AM ^
Great news. Hopefully whoever is the QB will target him on passing routes more frequently. He really should get 5-7 passing targets per game plus 10-15 carries.
Force defenses to account for him when gameplanning.
January 15th, 2024 at 12:53 PM ^
What if he is the QB?
January 15th, 2024 at 11:01 AM ^
Wow did not expect that.
January 15th, 2024 at 11:02 AM ^
At the end of the day, this maybe shouldn't have been a surprise given how much the Edwards family values education.
His late mother was a teacher. His father is an assistant principal. His mother's father was a principal. His three brothers are principals. Four uncles on his father's side are principals.
Okay, maybe not the last two (with apologies to Mona Lisa Vito), but he does have at least 1 teacher and 2 principals in his family.
January 15th, 2024 at 11:22 AM ^
I don’t think his decision based on valuing education. He was talking about going pro before the season even started. The reality is he didn’t put up the kind of year that was going to get him drafted early enough.
January 15th, 2024 at 12:47 PM ^
This is the real take. He wanted to have a huge year and go pro after three seasons. While he's going to be making some real NIL money, I do feel slightly bad for him. He is having to watch his QB declare for the draft and he's being left behind in college.
January 15th, 2024 at 3:37 PM ^
Saying he is being left behind, is a poor choice of words. IMHO.
January 15th, 2024 at 1:30 PM ^
The jokes are the jokes, man.
January 15th, 2024 at 11:03 AM ^
Wow. Dono + returning D makes me optimistic another good year is in store. Figure the QB issue and be lovely to get a 6'4" receiver type, but this ought to be a strong squad.
January 15th, 2024 at 11:03 AM ^
Love it! Take it to another level next year.
January 15th, 2024 at 11:03 AM ^
THE DON.
Let's Run Boys.
Go Blue!
January 15th, 2024 at 11:04 AM ^
Excellent. Smart decision and great news!
January 15th, 2024 at 11:05 AM ^
THE DON is coming back to make a statement and I’m fucking here for it!
January 15th, 2024 at 11:06 AM ^
Nice!!! Add Mullins, Hall, and Cabana to the backfield and the new QB will have a solid start!
January 15th, 2024 at 11:08 AM ^
Wow. That's great news. He got overlooked with Corum a bit. And I think he deserved the offensive MVP.
January 15th, 2024 at 12:12 PM ^
If you're referring to the National Championship game, I agree. Not to take anything away from Corum, and Corum absolutely deserves all the accolades that came his way. But Edwards' first two touches for touchdowns were huge-- they set the tone for the game and (although we obviously didn't realize it then) were all the points we needed to win the game. Nobody could've argued had Edwards received the OMVP.
January 15th, 2024 at 11:09 AM ^
Great to hear. He’s so explosive that I’m still hoping he can put it all together on the ground and return to what he did in 2022. Also hoping we will finally properly utilize him in the passing game. Edwards, Mullings, Hall, Cabana, Marshall, Kaapana is a pretty nice RB room moving forward
January 15th, 2024 at 11:11 AM ^
I would love to see him give Day and the OSU fans PTSD in Columbus.
January 15th, 2024 at 11:13 AM ^
HAIL to the YEA!
January 15th, 2024 at 11:16 AM ^
According to the interwebz Moore and Paige are back too. Michigan’s defense is going to be salty again.
January 15th, 2024 at 11:18 AM ^
Great news! I am so rooting for that kid to have a stellar season next year.
