CFP ranking show. Mich still not ranked.

While we had a close loss to Michigan State and a blowout loss to Penn state. I don't see the difference in resumes with how high Ohio State is ranked and we're not in comparison of losses. Fuel for the fire I guess.

that's the most egregious to me. I know a lot of their wins have been big, but they've also beaten precisely no one. Pummeling LSU is barely more impressive than pummeling Florida

We have to win out. Would you be happy if we were ranked 25 right now but lost to Wisconsin and Ohio? No. All I really care is they win out. They need it. By the way I live in Chicago and there is constant chatter about harbaugh leaving to be the bears coach on am radio. I'm a bears fan but would much rather he stay in Ann Arbor and finish the job.

Chicago radio talking about Harbaugh to coach their home team? You don't say...

That kind of bull shit creates fan reaction and gets people to listen. Of course they're going to talk that nonsense.

They never say every time it comes up they basically say Jim loves Ann Arbor but you know he wants a super bowl, and the mckaskeys have a great relationship with him. They are saying it's a matter of time if he keeps losing to state and Ohio before he gets frustrated and goes back to the NFL. Fox's contract is up this year and it would not shock me if the right coach is there they do not re sign him. They want to get a staff in place for tribisky. I believe he will be back in the NFL at some point just want him to win one before he leaves.

It's puzzling but also doesn't matter. The top four are what matter and Michigan won't be sniffing those numbers this year. Just win the next three games. Maybe we can sneak into the Big Ten title game with a lot of luck.

Sorry to hijack it this but it’s not worth a new thread probably . Anyway, did anyone catch The Simpsons this past Sunday ? Lots of Big Ten references ...

How the hell are there 5 teams that are ranked with 3 losses!? One of those teams lost to TROY! At home! This system makes no sense. They really believe northwestern and memphis are better than us? That's a joke. Ohio st get beat by 16 and 31 and they only fall 7 spots? We lose to msu with 5 turnovers and an opportunity to win with a backup QB and what did we fall 12? Now they are ranked 12. Both of our loses are to top 15 teams. We shouldn't have lost to msu. Those are better loses than any 2-3 loss teams that are ranked!

Ya we beat who we should. And we got beat. But those teams ahead of us may have a "good win" but they also have bad losses too. Northwestern got smoked by duke. And again TROY at home. But when it comes to the back of the rankings they should have to use who they think would win between two teams. And if they think NW is truly better than us then I question their knowledge. Not knocking NW at all they did beat MSU. But again every other team that loses a game when they have a backup QB don't get punished like we did. We fell 10 or 12 spots. And right now that msu loss doesn't look like it was all that bad. Not that I'm ok with losing to them. But I'm talking resume. We fell that much cuz they didn't think msu was that good but they are 1st in the east right now

The CFP committee historically has judged based on who you beat more than “good losses”, so it doesn’t align with the other polls well. Wait for the Wisconsin game after which M will vault up with a win or stay irrelevant to the CFP with a loss.

We have 3 games remaining, 2 of which are against really good teams, so winning those will move us into the rankings.  Even if we do win out, we're still not making it into a playoff spot.

This system is an absolute fucking joke.

"We value conference championships! We value head-to-head victories!"

*let's o$u in over penn state*

"We value tough non-conference schedules!"

*lets washington in*

Fuck outta here.

It used to be that an ugly loss, even if to an elite team, caused a fast fall in the polls. OSU has two blowout losses this year and they are ranked 11? And we are unranked? It's a joke.

I'm beyond sick of Michigan state continuing to make us all look like fools. How much longer until Harbaugh and our fans take them seriously? They are the second highest ranked team in the conference and they are just as young and inexperienced as we are. I'm sick and tired of losing to these fucking dick bags

Part of the reason we lose to Mork is because everyone on their side (players, coaches and fans) takes the match-up MUCH MORE seriously.  Once again this board is predicting a blowout loss for Sparty this weekend.  Based on what ??  It won't happen.  Until our fanbase and program can bring themselves to acknowledge the effort they play with over there, we will continue to struggle beating them.  I hate those bastards like poison, but I would never count them out in a high-stakes game like the one they are playing this weekend.

Northwestern over Michigan is absolutely hysterical.

Not that it makes any difference. We lost a game we should have won and looked sick for multiple games.

And maybe Michigan will get some love.

For now Michigan is what they say - lost to MSU and badly to PSU and looked shaky all year against mediocre opponents.
Michigan has yet to defeat a .500 team, so unranked it is.
