Now, attention turns to Louisiana DC, Lamar Morgan.

This will help you.

In English, Stephen is most commonly pronounced as STEEV-ən (/ˈstiːvən/), However, the spelling pronunciation STEEF-ən (/ˈstiːfən/), although nonstandard, with ph representing /f/, is usual especially in Philippine English. The name, in both the forms Stephen and Steven, is often shortened to Steve or Stevie.

Morgan seems like just as good of an option with more experience. All good and can't blame a guy for staying in the NFL if it's even close to comparable money.

*sighs in maize and blue*

It’ll probably all work out. But this only reinforces the narrative that what Sherrone has assembled is largely a “plan B” coaching staff.

I get what you’re saying. But Jim also had the benefit of being an accomplished head coach who was coming off a BIG championship season and a CFP appearance. That part of my comment was less about hope for the future and more about narratives currently circling and impeding the momentum of the program.

Like I said, it’ll probably all work out. But thus far, the transition process has reflected somewhat poorly on the program.

He accepted the offer for the money that was offered, so either he's a terrible negotiator or an NFL franchise was willing to outspend a college team for a position coach, which yeah sort of makes sense.  Clearly Ryans and the Texans came back with the type of offer that UM probably couldn't match, whether it be a promise of a fast tract to coordinator or way more money than UM can reasonably pay for a position coach.

Here is the question I have for all these coaches: why are you ACCEPTING jobs you are not a 100% sure you want to take? What happened to "Let me get a day to think this over?"

Yeah, the fact these guys are accepting offers (and in the case of a guy like Grubbs at Alabama actually serving as a coach) and then peacing out later is shitty.  Also, it's why I don't get remotely worked up about NIL "ruining college sports" because coaches have been pulling this stuff for years.

As close as we were to getting the Notre Dame guy or as close as we were to retaining Clink? Or more like as close as we were to getting Harbaugh a new contract back in November?

So more like the Notre Dame guy. Got it. We are a unique program when it comes to acquiring/retaining coaches you at least gotta admit that.
